known him play on cour fa around the same age and then we sit down and play D together just me and him at the US Open this year sits down hey what's up how's everyone been family stuff then he's like how's the season been on the corn fairy this year I'm like buddy I'm not on the corn Fair anymore and then we played together that that week on Sunday we both played pretty well yep and I shake his hand and that for own like not bad for fre play right is that when you're trying to hit a little harder Mak going aggressive swings out by not swinging out of my shoes stop just eat that that's when dire move to the right that one moves more right yeah I mean three up and only one left tells me we're pushing back and tilting instead of this move here up and left yeah push back right push it out of the ground you're pushing the left shoulder in the leftward direction instead of just this back oh it could go in yes for eagle and a four shot lead with five holes to play you gotten a lot of texts and calls in the last couple days from your friends family yeah 127 messages I still have to catch up to probably got like 400 or something like that what are people saying all range of things some good some bad oh my just a little steep on that shot forwards didn't check so that left for seven how quickly things change to stay in the lead would look good it was a good effort but that's a qu it's all [Music] gone it it's painful so impressed by his game I just didn't see any signs of anything being off absolutely look at the run from 5 to 13 and this is this is going to Sting If there's any positive you want to take he has now jumped inside the top 50 I didn't look at my phone Sunday so I waited to look till Monday all my dad texted me Sunday night he said the higher level you play at the more misses and frustrations will hurt dot dot dot happens in life and in business all the time dot dot dot will happen to you many more times great playing hug Alysa P ly and move on I know my my parents have my back my friends and family have my back so it was obviously a difficult day but the higher level you go the the more that's going to happen just as much as the success happened too so not not everyone can just play like Scotty didn't sleep Sunday night at all really I think I S from like 11:30 to 3: that was kind of tough but I mean I just was just petting my dog all night so I fell fine SC thank you for joining us Max your confidence must be high I would imagine does it feel that way yeah I mean I've just been telling myself the last couple months that I'm one of the best players out here you know so and first time in my life I actually believe myself how long have you guys been working together too long h two years two years two years too many I me what have you learned about he has that you call it the it you call it the dog in him he has that next level he's it's the real thing since probably US Open bya when it started I just feel like I work harder than a lot of other people so whether the results come now or later just compounding results I think of it like the stock market in the long run it goes up usually but short term it's like this got a great opportunity to get to BMW this week uh I'm playing good golf just got to keep doing what I'm doing whether tomorrow is another 60 or a 75 or somewhere in between that doesn't change the fact what I do day to day continues so hopefully I'll I'll be playing next week and looking forward to a long break after that it's been a long year not just the past couple weeks it's just been a short side myself a lot today I don't usually do that um usually on the fat side of the whole lot so a little more focus on fat side tomorrow my targets but either I'm trying to fix something or or it's fine and then I just got to get some rest you know so obviously very upset right now but that's that's just how it goes I got three rounds uh my coach is here somewhere maybe talk to him about what went wrong but yeah just like I said missing in the wrong spots so better just clean that up [Music] tomorrow uh we hit like probably an hour and then kind of talk to sensing him to leave yeah cuz he he won't leave heon no he won't leave that's kind of what he does I wouldn't be surprised if he shot like five or six today to be honest yeah it's just that's how it [Music] goes my parents immigrated and we didn't know what golf was and Max started playing golf the same time my dad started playing and we have two more brothers so four of us total and all three of them play golf and they look up to him and he started the whole golf Journey for our whole family and it's come golf every day playing golf going home watching golf it's because of him as Max has mentioned family is first to him and all of us and so to see him on this level right now is really impressive and we're Beyond proud of him and he'll remain who he is no matter how high he gets and he'll stay true to where we come from this is our family dog well our family has four dogs but this dog is a service animal that goes to almost all of Max's tournaments so Mom played in the uh first US adaptive open disability she was a single digit handicap but she played in two was it two years ago two years Pine the US Open for people with uh disabilities it C the Adaptive open Leo was there she finished uh 11th in the women's division so that's definitely the athletic inspiration it's been a great year for him especially the past 3 weeks it's been fun to watch we all knew it was coming ever since I mean even like few years ago on corn f tour we all knew it was coming do it that's one he's right on the edge so he gets through this week that'll be huge cuz he gets into all the Signature Events next year so the goal this week is try to stay top 50 then even if he doesn't stay top 50 it's still big to try to stay top 60 through the fall cuz I it's the first two Signature Events of next season which should be huge for him cuz I don't think he's played so he played any Signature Events no yes he hasn't played any yet I mean to be where he is in the fetics club without playing any Signature Events sound this place here he's had to play quite well in all the tournaments that he's gotten into just because there's less points at stake yeah it's a It's a Grind um but obviously very fortunate to be in my way this week honestly from the start of the week kind of knew where knew where I needed to be it's tough cuz I had that that first round was is a killer right so it kind of gets you out of the tournament you know I'm doing the right things I'm just really far behind right now so I'm going to need probably a 600 better 64 or lower not that I'm not capable of but either that or some extraordinary help from some other people at [Music] it he was one of the first couple groups off PX so I feel like it really depends on how other people play as well so projections at this point probably aren't going to be as accurate B Max here read we have two flights we have one to Florida and one uh to Denver so hopefully we're on the one to Denver hopefully we're in that spot ni Max we all know that he has it in him obviously first day wasn't what we hoped it would be but you see glimpses of it and I think he's shown over the past few weeks in past few tournaments that he can come may or may not make the top 50 here we'll see what happens but just the role model to his brothers and how how he deals with the ups and downs and how he deals with being uncomfortable on the golf course that's actually thing I'm most proud of is his not his just his performance but his impact on the two younger brothers no 82% what was4 82% right now yeah good thing stay humble and keep it up you know he knows it doesn't matter he makes the 50 then he'll go to Denver and he'll play these events next year and if he doesn't he'll play other events next year but he's so well grounded that n this is going to get to his head we're just going to cut the dogs and see the numbers and take go to the airport and either go to Denver or go to Florida it's it's fine either way he's had a great year great year Communications got uh when I was in there I was currently 51st 10 points behind but there's a lot of people on the course and a lot of volatility obviously so you don't know it just depends like who on the board is where like is is the guy at 50th is he in 15th Place and one stroke makes a huge difference in a negative play you know what do you do now I sit and wait nothing else I can do I'm not booking to flight that's for [Music] sure I'm going to eat and chill head refresh a [Music] lot do they ship it do they ship it overnight or I'm just deciding what if if I can set my clubs or I should take my clubs what has happened in the last 2 hours refreshing the phone a lot watching some guys down the stretch kind of helped me out a little bit yeah I mean just thank FL to make it through you know why were there so many high numbers after you finished you think why does that happen I mean why did I make high numbers last week I don't know it's golf it's uh pressure of the moment I mean you feel you feel you feels different down the stretch than it like you know you play golf at home and you play golf out here and everything feels normal and then all of a sudden you start to maybe you don't look at the board but you know you know you're you're around where you need to be or or try to win or something like that and I just feel like the Heat of the Moment uh sometimes it just doesn't go your way it's just a lot of a lot of pressure why is top 50 significant number the Signature Events getting into all those Signature Events you know for the next year sets your schedule just time to rest relax time I haven't had in a while and just playing against the best players in the world next year all year I mean this is going to be big not only for points but just for just to get better I feel like it's just total career changing moment you know get inside the top 50 more points more money I just feel like you learn when you're playing in these moments against the best players you just learn more about yourself in your game so yeah I mean my life's changed a lot a lot in the last couple hours
