nowhere to run he's able to get in the back field for a big stop and it sets up fourth down they will indeed go as they look to throw and that is brought in and he will score for field touch Detroit a beautiful combination in the air there the pass down field and [Applause] bring they'll come out throwing here to start the drive that ball flutters to the ground it's incomplete well fortunate there wasn't Defender right there in the area could have been a turnover instead it brings up second down here comes the blitz as he looks to throw that'll be caught it's jir Gibbs and he's going to be dropped after a pickup of about five here now third and five he'll look to throw that's going to be intercepted picked off by Greg n and he is good I'm selling bro right back to the air following that pick six is caught left side by St Brown another catch from there numbers starting to stack up in this one closing in on 100 yards and we're still in the first half they'll look to throw a throw there on second down going to be incomplete just doesn't seem to me right now that he's seeing the field very well I mean that last possession results in the pick you'd expect him to come back out here and be a little bit more careful with the ball find easier completions find the better matchup but instead he puts the ball Back In Harm's Way and he's lucky that wasn't another interception the initial reaction is how does this quarterback not throw the ball past the first down line to gain to try to extend this drive and the reality is because they've already decided they're going to go for it on fourth down if he doesn't pick up the extra yards after the catch they've got a fourth down play call they feel great about we're going to see what it looks like they do indeed snap it as they'll try first down throw there is incomplete we had a chance to sit down with the quarterback this week in practice he preach the importance of that I have to do a better job protecting the ball well so far here early it doesn't seem like that's been the case he's been a little reckless here in the opening quarter and he's going to have to clean that up throughout the rest of this game there's only a handful of guys in the league who legitimately have world class speed and he's one of them I mean he's the type of weapon that you three or four times a game have to just say okay my guy he's faster than your guy we're going to send him deep and Let It Fly And even though that one Falls incomplete you have to continue to sprinkle that threat in because it makes everything else in your passing and as they approach halftime here they got to regroup and he's going to have to make the better decisions here in the second half the Lions will punt this ball away as he'll be standing just inside incomplete they can't hook up there and that incompletion takes us to the two-minute warning so after backto back incompletions it is now third and 10 that one on target to Williams he's got it and they're going to be set up in the Red Zone they've got it inside the 15 the red zone now he'll drop to throw that is caught and the lions are going to have a first and goal coming up they try to finish off this drive with six points Hopkins sent in motion here's Gibbs and that big offensive line clearing space he's [Applause] in right away they'll set up to throw to the right side that's sa Brown and he's going be brought down up past the 45 here's first and [Applause] 10 now they'll set up to throw right back to Safe round they connect again and he's taken down inside the opponent's [Applause] 35 Blitz coming he'll throw it over the middle he's got sa Brown and they are in great shape he's taken down inside the 10 to the goal line and in Dam Williams MO [Applause] he'll drop to throw he'll let this one go long for Williams let's go and they are not going to catch up to him he will score [Applause] no hand off he'll keep it himself he'll get a yard or two to the eight second and goal now here's second and goal throwing now from the gun that one taken in on First and 10 B in trouble and down he goes defense came out in a soft Zone and I think it caught the quarterback a little off guard he was trying to attack them down field by the time he was able to get through his progression to his check down he ran out of time and that's all the pass rush needed to get into the back field and bring him down well they'll get some of the sack yardage back but it's still going to leave them with third down to get this complete it's Williams over the middle so from the 39 they come up on First and 10 they'll throw out of the gun he'll be hit as he throws and that one will wind up incomplete could not step into the throw that time it'll bring up second down here comes the blitz as he looks to throw he'll tuck it and take off and they're going to work this down inside the 45 so they come to the line for first down and 10 he'll let this one go long for Williams [Music] [Applause] here's a Zone Reed to start the drve oh no that is they'll come out throwing here to start the drive now he takes off and he's going to go into the End Zone on an electrifying run touchdown to the first down it's a pick up of four but it still leaves third and short that's a ofs up thir going to try to pick up the first down with his Zone re a gain of 11 there and a first down I can tell you from first hand Mike seeing it unfold runs like this demoralize any defense I mean he's been doing it pretty much since the beginning of the game and they have yet to find an answer for keeping him under wraps he has run wild from that quarterback position and you'll get about six there setting up second down now this time they'll look to throw and a good effort there defensively it's knocked away and incomplete here's a third down and four great the cover defensiv he'll look to throw he'll try to run for it can't beat those legs 13 yd pickup a scramble leads to a first down they move leaport sending him in motion throwing now on First and 10 and this time the rush gets home and down he goes [Applause] this is what you don't want to see out of your quarterback as that pocket starts to collapse the good ones they can keep their eyes down field and feel the rush they don't need to see the rush here his eyes go down he starts moving around the pocket nowhere to go with the ball and they bring him down for a sack that escape ability on display as you can see the rushing total now over 100 yd from the quarterback back position on third down they'll set up to throw oh he did all he could to get away but they're going to catch up to him it is a big loss here's the Lions punt team now a fair catch taken and they're you think he hungry he'll start this drive by keeping it himself and no place to go no place to hide he's taking down line they'll look to throw and he might have waited just a bit too long there as he throws it incomplete looking to set up the screen but the defense wouldn't give him the time on play action he'll set up to throw he's going to put it up throw oh my go and he's going to be out of bounds but they're going to the 10 yd line now a chance to pay off that big play they have it first and goal and he's going to be down close to the goal line a good job defensively to make sure he did not get to the end zone from the one second and goal they'll run with Gibbs and he will take this one across [Applause] to the air now on first intent oh he's going to be bottled up and taken down they got him two minutes remain in the fourth quarter we'll come back and finish this one off after this work to do now as they come up on second and long oh I don't know back to throw there's that man again another catch and they're going to move this ball inside the 25 5 yd line oh for real 22 [Applause] yd and he can't hang on through the contact it's incomplete what a good job defensively to meet him just as the ball was arriving and it'll be second down a shotgun snap he'll look to throw a throw on the run is complete and he'll be taken down even with the lead they're trying to press the tempo they'll look to throw yet again and this is going to be a touchdown they are going to extend the lead so it's a win the Lions they move to one and0 getting the victory to begin the new [Music] campaign and that'll do it for my partner
