it might be calm downtown right now but we know it's going to be a very busy day because the race for the White House continues now 54 days out from election day and both former president Donald Trump and second gentlemen Doug mhof are expected to travel to Tucson later today newsp Tucson's Conor McGill joins us live now from downtown Connor what can we expect from their visits Megan well it is all hands on deck from here on out both presidential campaigns honing in on Battleground States today former president Donald Trump and second gentleman Doug mof will host events here in downtown Tucson so let's get into the details for you this morning starting off with former president Donald Trump he is set to give remarks at the Tucson Music Hall the Trump campaign says the event will focus on the economy and the rising cost of housing among other issues this marks the first time the former president has visited Tucson since 2020 his visit comes less than a month after he visited glendell for a rally and on the other side the Harris campaign kicking off what they're calling the new Way Forward tour targeting Battleground States we're told the second gentleman will'll discuss the difference between vice president Harris and Governor wal's vision for the future versus Donald Trump and JD Vance's plans we're told the tour will include a new television spot rall cusine events and programs designed to Target important voting groups this is the second gentleman's first stop in Tucson this election cycle now it is important if you do travel through the downtown area to be aware of possible delays these events are being hosted in the afternoon and evening so be very cognizant when you are traveling through the downtown area back to you Megan thank you Conor for all that information
