today I'm looking to sell what I think is a pretty cool card I have a Jerry West signed 1961 Fleer rookie card okay pretty cool I mean Jerry West obviously a very iconic basketball player I mean I think most people know the red the blue and the white NBA logo is actually a picture of Jerry West I'm here at the pawn shop today to sell my 1961 Fleer Jerry West autographed rookie card I had Jerry sign his name HF 1980 and 2010 because those are the two years that he was inducted and I had him sign the logo as well I'm looking to get $5,000 for this card this is pretty cool Jerry West spent a lot of time in LA as a player obviously I think he was an All-Star player like every single year he was in the league 14 times I believe 14 times gold medal in 1960 Olympics I think every year except his rookie year he was averaging like somewhere around 27 points per game you know he coached the the team after for a few years I think he even was the general manager for a while up until about 2000 kind of like the KOB Shack era I guess so where did you get it I I got the card on my own just by going to shows a friend of mine is his booking agent so he was able to get Jerry to sign it for me with those inscriptions do you know if this is the original or the Remake that is the original 1961 yeah I can see right here from the back it's it's the original you can tell by the way it's cut and the color of this and really just the Aging well it's really cool you have the original release because you know these cards are hard to find a lot of these cards just got thrown away over time this is a pretty significant rookie card you had the card graded yourself yeah Okay cool so I'm noticing that it's graded for the autograph it's not graded for the cart itself and I can see why the cart itself isn't graded I mean it's got some pretty nasty creases all over here what are you looking to do with it today looking to seller it and do you have a price in mind I was thinking around $5,000 I'm really not exactly sure on the price I do think that if you're looking to get anywhere near that the card probably has to have a grade on it as well not just the autograph I want to call down my sports expert Dave for this because he's my Jerry West guy sure so it'll it'll help me kind of evalue the card and get an idea of what I think I could sell it for here in this shop sounds good give me a minute I'll give him a call and see when you can get down here hey Chum hey how you doing I'm good I'm good how are you I'm David nice to meet you nice meet you Charlie Charlie has this beautiful card here and I know how much you like Jerry West so I knew you'd be the best guy to get down here yeah Jerry West was uh actually my hero growing up certainly one of the most iconic players of the game 1972 they won the championship what a player and in 1996 Jerry was instrumental of trading Laker players for the pick to the Charlotte Hornets to get Kobe Bryant so not only a great player he was a great mind and executive for the for the game of basketball so just wanted to kind of know what you think this would go for this is your world you know can I take a look at it yeah absolutely if it had a number grade on the card it would be easier for me to Value but it's a little harder for me yes well this is his rookie card you know they didn't do basketball cards every year back then in 1948 there was a company called Bowman that did a basketball set in 1957-58 Topps did a basketball set and there was nothing done in between those years then in ' 6162 Fleer said let's give a try let's print basketball cards and thank God they did because you know in that set was all these great players uh this is Jerry West's rookie Oscar Robinson's rookie Will Chamberlain elen Baylor all those great players that were their first cards was this 6162 Fleer set so this is authentic it's in decent shape it's not high grade but I've seen a lot worse Jerry West rookie cards lastly the signature is beautiful dark blue ink beautiful signature it's why it's a PSA 10 what do you think the value is on it I think this card uh based on other sales of this um especially with it being not graded I feel this is worth about $2,000 all right well appreciate you thanks thank you good luck thanks not the 5,000 you were looking for I would still make you an offer I'm going to have to be at like 700 bucks on it though I got to have the room in there to sell it for 1,500 if I need to sure um do you think you could do 12250 no I'm going to be pretty fir firm at 700 maybe like 750 I could bump it up too in a private sale I think you could easily get the 2 Grand for it probably a little more but people come here looking for a deal so amazing card really cool I'd love to have it but 750 is going to be the max I could put into it if we had a number grade on the card it would be easier for me to price it 800 I'll do 800 all right we got a deal uh meet me up here at the counter sounds good
