Wisconsin Commits Reaction

[Music] okay all right now Perfect all right hey everybody how are you guys good good I think I'm so when we do this um you guys remember that we have multiple people um either I'll just ask you guys individually or if you interrupt each other just um somebody take a break or one of you answer or let somebody finish and then the next one go or whatever and it's totally okay um I wasn't sure how many people will be able to do it so um we'll let we'll let a few more people kind of get on uh we're doing it and we're kind of uh we're kind of in the lobby uh we're in the team's Lobby so um people are kind of filtering through so it's kind of cool um and uh I'm not sure if the teams are so this the team Hotel there's like two halves to it so I'm not sure where the teams are staying or not but uh we'll let a few more people kind of uh get on the live stream and then um we'll go but like how many of you guys do you guys uh any of you guys have like actual High School matches tomorrow tomorrow I don't have any tomorrow but I just got done with like a tournament yeah yeah so doesn't Texas don't you don't some of the Texas teams have like 15 matches done already oh yes we do I think that usually it's like about 20 at this point right now it's 20 that yeah and Kristen I apologize for trying to ship you off to Louisville I I didn't I didn't mean to put you on the wrong team so yeah um I was thinking that so you so you're actually GNA be you're actually going to be at the matches on Tuesday night yes I will be yeah and so then what what were you saying that your high school your high school team gets to come and uh practice tomorrow yes after practice tomorrow we're heading down to the Yum Center and they want my high school team to do like a dress rehearsal so we're gonna wear our jerseys and then like scrimmage each other and I think they just want to work out like the technical calls stuff like that and work on challenges yeah so they um they're doing it um so they're not having um line judges so um they're doing it like the international um and they have the they have the review um the review system like the international play so they have the uh um the like in the Olympics uh and everything is the video review um that they're going to have that they're going to have for the matches and they were setting that all up today it was it was pretty cool so and then Pro volleyball or the volleyball Channel I think's gonna uh I think that's is gonna um run all that but Audrey what about you when does when does California start um start like all your matches and everything um we had our home opener on THS we went to Hawaii for a tournament go and then we so okay so where so where um are you from like the San Diego area no like manhatt beach beach Rond Beach that area okay so you live in like almost the perfect part weather wise and then you get to go to Hawaii then for a preseason tournament yeah what we're gonna make you do for your senior year is come to South Dakota in December for a tournament and see how the rest of the world lives okay Audrey because the weather is not like where you live in the rest of the world okay I'm just I'm gonna tell you that so Kimora what about you what about you in Illinois have you guys started yet we have our first game on Tuesday and our first home game is Wednesday okay so so do you guys play do you guys play a match on Tuesday night yes so so then you won't be able to watch you won't be able to watch Wisconsin or will you get home in time probably not no especially since it's an away game oh yeah well okay so do you play do you play in like a Metro League or are you outside are you like outside of Chicago um I would say it's more like local but when we play the Chicago teams it's we most likely see them in a tournament yeah I was wondering like uh how far you actually had to drive you know uh for matches and stuff or if they were all kind of close yeah it's more Metro yeah okay all right well I think we have quite a few people in so everybody what we're doing um people uh that follow us and maybe new people that are just a badger fans or college fans so what we're doing is uh VB adrenaline is live at uh the first serve uh showcase this week and we will be uh tomorrow we'll be doing uh two different live shows from the practice sessions and kind of breaking down each of the four teams individually and talking about their new faces some of their new incoming recruits some of their returning veterans their strengths their storylines all of that and then Tuesday night we'll actually be doing an hourong uh head-to-head match breakdown uh pregame before ESPN takes over and we'll be live at the matches and what we decided to do tonight uh to do some live coverage was get uh some of the input from the recruits from each school so we'll be doing a 152 minute uh live session with some of the future uh in this case Badgers uh some of the future incoming recruits and just kind of see what they think about this as they're the kind of next in line I guess technically they're all verbal commits nobody's signed on the dotted line but but uh to see um because they're next in line but yet they're still in high school and you know so let's just start there guys um and and maybe Kristen let let's start with you since uh you're you're in Louisville um and you're actually going to the matches but we're going we'll go around the horn I want to ask each of you what is it like being in high school but yet you're watching your future team in this big time matchup on ESPN and do you pinch yourself a little bit like that could be me in a couple years yeah it's really cool for me because the Yum Center is where I used to go like watch K like watch games as a kid and it's really cool to be able to see the future team that I'm going to like play in that Arena yeah absolutely uh H let's go to you next um I think that it's really cool like sadly I can't just like take a little drive up there and like see see crazy cool but um watching on TV like being able to see it it's like now I can like root for somebody I don't have to be like oh this team might win this team might win like no Wisconsin's winning right right so this it's really good to have a team to root for and a good team to root for with that and to be a part of that and know I'm going to be part of it it's just it gives you a lot to look forward to and like kind of just gives you something to brag about I guess yeah well Audrey let me ask you a little bit different so now I I'm guessing you guys have met all of these all of the girls right on the team when you went to Camp or you know through talking with them so does that make it a little bit extra special like you know them and now you're watching them play and you feel a little bit more connected to them like you know them almost on a personal level yeah well I don't know all of them I know some of them especially Charlie watching like her is like crazy for me because like here and like I know her like personally so it's just so weird seeing that like yeah like she's like basically famous now so it's like so weird but well what what do you guys think and then and then uh kamur what with your your story which we just love you're you when we talked and interviewed you again I mean this whole deal has kind of been for you you've been pinching yourself a little bit anyways right so now when you watch what what are you gonna be feeling you don't get to watch it tomorrow but but what do you feel when you think like because this all came on you really quick yeah I would say like ever since I like committed I just had so much like Pride for like school pride for the school and I'm not even like signed yet but yeah just to see them play their hardest and I met them before I met some of the girls before I even committed there and just to see them play and the game and I was almost like like I felt really proud of them and I'm excited to also be a part of that and yeah yeah well so let me ask you I guess question number two um um they uh what do you um when you guys looked or when you were um looking at other schools did this play any part in it that um that you knew a school like with wiconsin would play in big matches like this like did that did that factor in knowing that hey they might be in big time matches on ESPN obviously new Big 10 Network right and yeah if they get to the final four you know but but special matches like this did that play a role in committing to a school like Wisconsin Hy I see you shaking your head uh let's just start with you on that I would definitely say it did break play a role in like my choice I'm not like a cloud chaser or anything but like I definitely think that it's really cool to see like so many people from like not even just Madison like come to every game and like thousands of people like that has always been a dream for me and like that's always been something I've wanted to be a part of and like I've always wanted to be like that girl that little girls run up to and take a photo with after the games like I want to be a role model I want to Y like I don't know just kind of be like the f or be a role model to little kids and like like maybe Inspire someone to like play or like start a sport or do something because I know that volleyball especially like in college like women's volleyball is definitely growing and so like I just would love to be a part of that and I know that Wisconsin would just just give me a rocket Head Start to all of that and yeah so yes I definitely would say definitely played a role in my decision amongst amongst a lot of other things but yes I would say it definitely helped me make my decision how about uh anybody else want to weigh in Kristen Audrey um I think it did too because I feel like in those type of environments with like a bunch of people like huge crowds like it could it like regardless of the score regardless of who you're playing it always feels like a huge big match so I feel like playing in that like environment every single game is like something that's like super exciting super fun and I also think the way that like Wisconsin plays and the people that they recruit like are just like all good people and like it's a team that like I'd want to be a part of because I know they're well coached I know they have everyone on the team is like good intentions so I think that's like also something well and when you look too um you know Chris and I look uh you're the only one representing uh uh your class uh but but we look at the roster they they have a very big uh freshman class and then your class is deep and then you know a fairly deep 2026 class um where I think every every class I I think average I think averages four and a half uh commits per class and so they're bringing in depth and talent every single year um I ask commits this before they commit but what do you guys think about that and does coach talk about that during the recruiting process does he talk about there's going to be a lot of talent here um and you guys know that coming in does he does he talk about that ahead of time while while you're getting recruited anyone want to go Oh I thought I'll for me for anybody I'm sorry I'm sorry yeah just I started out with Kristen I started out with you speaking through your class and I kind of turned to anybody yeah I can answer it if you want me sure for me I think it was he did talk about talent and he did talk about like everything he was bringing in and that's kind of what drew me to wicin because I wanted to be part of a team that like had a really competitive atmosphere and they have a big community and they have a big fanas base and I wanted to be a part of a team that was going to push me like every day to be better and to like fight for a spot yeah absolutely I agree with that um I definitely he definitely like told me and I guess probably all of us like Wisconsin's a I don't think you really had to tell me like I knew like Wisconsin a great volleyball school they are gonna have competitive atmosphere like it's going to be competitive and like that's where I do my best like that's where I play my best volleyball so like I could just somewhere where I was like okay well like I know I would Thrive there and then just again it was amongst a lot of things but yes it definitely was talked about and he definitely um mentioned it yeah yeah absolutely what so what do you guys um uh well we have like the group where I sent it out I guess to everybody so do you guys have like chat groups or text groups like uh tomorrow night during the match where you guys texting each other or do you guys hardly ever communicate or or what's it like do you guys do you guys have like a little uh future Badgers group or or uh we're you're texting each other during the match or what will it be like uh on Tuesday night I definitely think that we we do have one it's just like with our coaches and stuff we can definitely get one up and running um it's definitely hard we're all like different parts of like the country and different parts of like our lives our volleyball Seasons high school and stuff so like technically yes but we can just get like one going and we'll probably be firing in some some things in there as well yeah yeah well I I mean that's the thing I'm trying to learn is because so M so many of you meet each other at camps or USA volleyball stuff or on the club circuit I don't know um if it's a competitive mindset or if you're all like start to build that family atmosphere before or or if you're all like total strangers then you show up on campus together or you know I I'm trying to figure out what it's like and I also think each culture is a little bit different too right like every program's a little bit different um but I I think uh like like I told people I learned a lot about Coach Sheffield when I talked to him at Nationals and I didn't I didn't know him before um and and I think I really got the wrong opinion of him just watching him on the sidelines and um I learned a lot from our conversation um that he does have a lot more family atmosphere um and I think Ali maybe you you and I talked about after you committed that he he talked about I'm gonna coach you I'm going to coach you really really really hard but then after we walk off the court it's like jok with you a little bit right yeah yeah yeah um Kelly's very I love Kelly because he's super like you can tell he's gonna be intent on the court but like off Court he's gonna if if you need help with school or you need help with something like he's gonna help you through that and so like that's another reason like that's something that I love about him and like I think he's just also really like smart he's super like organized and like intentive and very much like T up on you every once in a while so like I definitely think that I'm in good hands and I definitely think that he's a pretty goofy guy as well so yeah yeah well I what I I learned is um and when I talked with him in that that brief time we uh we watched a a match at Nationals together and and uh but how how important like his family life is right that he talked about his daughters um quite a bit and then when they went to the Olympics um together like yeah that was important but you could tell it wasn't um sometimes college coaches will put pictures out there like to paint a picture of things but that really seemed like that was genuinely important to him um and uh something that I I really really learned so it was uh it was cool and I'm I'm excited to hopefully get to learn more about their staff this week by just talking to them for a few minutes so uh interesting well hey guys I uh I um learn now now do you guys um I know you know with the football and the hockey team the men Sports side at least you know um you know they go by you know they're not afraid to say Bucky Badger now is that something does volleyball use that nickname at all or is it just the Badgers I mean I don't know if I if I've heard that one Bucky is haven't okay all right so and maybe that's me being an old gopher football fan um they maybe that's just something that their Rivals say I don't I don't know but uh you guys better check into that and see if if that's okay maybe it's maybe that's just something that the rivals say we'll have to look into that but uh you you guys really do need to catch up on the Rival lingo in the big 10 okay because I just don't feel like the other than you in Nebraska I don't think the rivalries are strong enough on the volleyball side yet and we really need to pick those up because they could be a lot more heated than they are right now and I think I really want to see that pick up in the next five to six years you guys you guys think we can make some of those rivalries a little more heated than they are right now yes sir do it we can do it you guys are gonna have to turn up your mean side a lot more I think yeah smiling we're g that means we're gonna have to get rid of the smiles ladies okay
