all right well I guess you know first practice BGSU how excited are you to be here and you know what were some of the reasons why you decided to transfer here to pgsu yeah first practice I thought uh went pretty smooth um you know it's kind of different starting end of January so haven't had a lot of time to you know dive into the Playbook um you know get with the receivers get timing down but uh all that same I thought first practice for January 30th um it's pretty pretty good so some some stuff to build on stuff to get better at and um always room for improvement so just kind of talk about you know just the reasons why you decided to transferred to be yeah I think uh the the biggest part was just the coaching staff coach Leffler coach Warner um just on my visit they you know just preached how much I would learn um how much they can devote me you know my goal is to play at the next level so um how much they can devote me you know in the areas I need Improvement in um obviously I'm uh ready to put the work in um I feel like I'm a good player right now and I feel like this coaching staff can you know take me to that next level and get me ready for the next level you know obviously you have a lot of experience on the big stage you know going back to the 30 days you know Indiana days you know the SEC in Big Ten how much can that help as you come here to BGSU just just that experience on the big stage yeah I think I I think I can kind of help the players around me um you know just like you said I've seen pretty much every coverage every defense um you know I played in you know the most hostile environments so there's nothing that'll faze me and I feel like I can kind of share that experience with with some of the uh some of the teammates obviously the QB room here at BGSU you know brought in a couple can transfers you know a freshman in you know a couple guys with a little bit of experience last year you know how are you guys trying to just mesh together because there's obviously some talent in that quarterback room yeah it's it's a great room and um you know Cam and Owen uh they're a great kind of welcoming welcoming me dalen and Lucian in and um right now I think we're all just kind of trying to get the Playbook down um learn where the hell things are in the in the city so it's a big part so um I think we're all kind of swimming right now and eventually you know a couple weeks we'll we'll be uh off rolling so uh did your previous relationship with Coach Leffler as he was your primary recruiter coming out of high school yeah that kind of influenced your decision to come here yeah it definitely did um having that past relationship was huge um you know him at Boston College I always uh my go-to is is when I because obviously I didn't commit to him but my go-to saying is I knew he was going to get a head coaching job so that's why I didn't go there um uh but yeah that past relationship was huge and um you know he was he was one of the first people to call me when I entered the portal and um he's been great so his offensive scheme is a little bit more like QB run friendly considering in high school he came out of a triple option yeah is that intriguing to you at all that you'll potentially be using your legs a little bit more compared to what was the systems ran in Missouri and Indiana um yeah I'm not I'm not sure like I I think it's kind of the other way um I think what kind of or Indiana Missouri you know they they wanted more running quarterbacks and um you know coach Leffler uh coach Warner you know they needed a guy to sit back in the pocket distribute the ball um you know make plays with the arm so
