HOW EXCITED HE IS TO TAKE THE BALL ONCE AGAIN. >> IT'S EXCITING. I THINK KIND OF FEELS ALMOST LIKE A SECOND SEASON FOR ME. I THINK IT KIND OF HAS COMING OUT OF SPRING TRAINING VIBES, SO REALLY EXCITED TO BE ABLE TO GET OUT THERE WITH THE GUYS AND COMPETE AGAIN, HAPPY BEING ON THE ROAD WITH THE GUYS, AND IT'S BEEN A LOT OF FUN. >> Meredith: HOW MUCH ADDED ADRENALINE DO YOU THINK THERE WILL BE TOMORROW AND HOW DO YOU MANAGE THAT ESPECIALLY EARLY ON? >> YEAH, I THINK MAYBE EARLIER ON MANY IN MY CAREER I PROBABLY WOULD BE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR THE WHOLE TIME, BUT I'M GOING TO TRY TO BE IN CONTROL AND MANAGE THE ADRENALINE AND EMOTIONS AND JUST GO OUT AND TRY TO BE MYSELF, AND NOT TRY TO DO TOO MUCH. I THINK THE VELOCITY IS OBVIOUSLY GOING TO BE THERE AND THE STUFF'S THERE, JUST NO NEED TO REACH BACK AND TRY TO GEAR FOR MORE. >> Meredith: WHAT LEFT YOU ENCOURAGED AFTER THE REHAB OUTING? >> I THINK THE COMMAND, I WAS REALLY HAPPY WITH THE COMMAND. DIDN'T WALK ANY GUYS, GOT TO MY LOCATIONS REALLY WELL, I THINK MY BODY FEELS REALLY HEALTHY, SO IN TURN I THINK IT MAKES IT A LOT EASIER TO REPEAT YOUR MECHANICS AND WHEN YOU'RE REPEATING MECHANICS BETTER I THINK YOU'RE ABLE TO HAVE CONSISTENT SHAPES AND GET TO CONSISTENT AREAS. SO I THINK THAT'S PROBABLY THE MOST EXCITING PART. >> Meredith: WHEN YOU HAVE A LONG LAYOFF LIKE YOU'VE HAD AND FACING MAJOR LEAGUE HITTERS GENT E AGAIN FOR THE FIRST TIME, WHAT'S THE MOST DIFFICULT THING TO GET BACK? >> I THINK WHEN YOU'RE DOWN FROM THAT LONG, YOU KIND OF LOSE, YOU KNOW, WHEN YOU FIRST START TO COME BACK I THINK YOU LOSE A LITTLE BIT OF FEEL OUT THERE. I THINK THANKFULLY WE HAD A GOOD AMOUNT OF LIVE BPs, A GOOD AMOUNT OF REHAB GAMES WHERE YOU KIND OF GET THAT FEEL FOR YOUR MECHANICS AGAIN. WHEN YOU START TO GET IN THOSE REHAB GAMES AND GET THAT ADDED ADRENALINE, YOU'RE ABLE TO FEEL WHAT IT FEELS LIKE HERE ON THE GAME MOUND AND WHEN YOU'RE AMPED UP A LITTLE BIT SOMETIMES YOU CAN LOSE FEEL OF YOUR MECHANICS. SO JUST STAYING WITHIN MYSELF AND FINDING THAT GUILLEN. >> Meredith: HOW FAR DO YOU THINK THEY'LL PUSH YOU FROM A PITCH COUNT PERSPECTIVE? >> I'M GOING TO, AS FAR AS THEY WANT TO GO. I THINK LIKE I'VE BEEN CONTINUALLY TELLING THESE GUYS HOW GOOD I FEEL, AND HOW I'M OPEN TO CONTINUING TO ADD PITCHES OUTING AFTER OUTING. SO YOU KNOW, I'LL GO UNTIL BOONIE CAN PRY THE BALL OUT OF MY HANDS. BUT YOU KNOW, DEFINITELY EXCITED TO GET BACK OUT THERE, THIS IS A BIG STEP AND OBVIOUSLY IN FRONT OF A BIG MARKET TEAM LIKE THIS PLAYING IN CHICAGO IT'S GOING TO BE A LOT OF FUN. >> Meredith: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR FIRST LOOK THE WRIGLEY SO SEMINAR. >> IT'S REALLY COOL. MY FIRST CHECK WAS WHERE THE WIND WAS BLOWING, EVERYBODY REMINDED ME THAT IT CAN REALLY CHANGE, WHERE THE WIND'S BLOWING. I THINK AFTER THAT IT'S JUST BEEN COOL TO SEE, YOU WALK AROUND A LITTLE BIT, SUCH A HISTORY PARK. AND I THINK YOU KNOW, PLAYING AGAINST A BIG FRANCHISE LIKE THIS AND OBVIOUSLY US COMING IN TOWN WITH RIZZO AND EVERYBODY IT'S GOING TO BE FUN. >> Meredith: YOU AND THE ORIOLES NECK AND NECK ALL SEASON, IT LIKELY WILL GO DOWN TO THE WIRE.
