all right the Senate is expected to soon vote on a major funding package that would avert a partial government shutdown this weekend the house overwhelmingly approved the $460 billion measure yesterday it provides funding for the Departments of Agriculture Commerce Justice and several other agencies and federal programs really needed Democrats to do some of the heavy lifting since a number of House Republicans opposed the package and opposed the way that speaker Johnson uh approached this particular agreement in terms of lumping about six of these appropriate bills together that being said while there are some Republicans in the Senate that are also opposed uh at the end of the day uh this will likely clear with pretty overwhelming support government shutdowns constantly hanging over us here on Capitol Hill because there have been several as you mentioned of these temporary funding patches I believe there have been up to four
