[Music] hey bingers JB back it up binge podcast welcome back for another episode of bird calls here on the binge really wish this episode was 30 seconds long I try to keep these 5 to 10 minutes quick hits on the Orioles get you guys in and out get some good information flowing and I have to tell you this is going to be a tough one because last night's game was really tough to take an extra ending loss to the Red Sox second series in a row that the Orioles dropped to AL east teams they lost to the rays prior they lost this series to the Red Sox and Extra Innings let's go over the stars of the game number one we have Dean Kramer stepping up his game again he goes seven Innings five hits one earned run seven K second star of the game Emanuel Rivera Rivera two for four two RBI in a home run but the key hit Extra Innings to put the Orioles up let's watch it Rivera's had a nice game he's played well for the Orioles in a Solo Homer back in the third a high Chopper will get through a base hit for Emanuel Rivera Baltimore chopping his way to his second RBI and to the Orioles second lead and third start a game Tony taters take note Pete Alonzo this is what you produce in a walk year 41st home run 95th RBI let's take a look at that solo shot by Tony taters Red Sox 2 Orioles one and facing off against Slayton who will turn 27 in three days it was a rule five pick by Bost in the pitch s tunder hits this one a long way to right a Bru going back at the track at the wall this ball game's time it's into the Orioles Bullpen home run number 41 and a big one for Anthony sandir this game is tied up at two as santand there makes the slow jog around the bases and we are even on the 48t shot I jotted down some stats for this series so over the three games the orol averaged under four runs a game 3.66 they scored 35 and three over the course of the three games they averaged eight hits so that's pretty good they did have an error in game one none in game two when they won and they had two more errors last night Rivera and holiday now the stat I always go to and look at is rispy runners in scoring position how effective and efficient are you when guys are on base when there's traffic on the bases what did the Orioles do this series well five for 26 they batted 192 two more hits maybe changed the whole outcome of this series they bat 192 with runners in scoring position that's a stat that I think a lot of people Overlook I always look at it two for 11 in the loss 123 the first game two for nine in the second game and one for six last night you're not going to win a lot of games if you're batting 190 with traffic on the bases over the course of a series let me talk about this team there's something different about this team us orial fans will recognize that over the last season and a half prior to June and July of this season this team was loose they were playing together as a unit I understand we have some injuries this season that changes the whole complexion of the roster the rotations for Hyde but there's just something different about this team they used to be loose they seem a little tighter now on the field I don't know if trading way Austin Conor Norby people traded away at the trading deadline had any impact on that Clubhouse but it just seems different since the allstar break 25 and 26 since July 1st 30 and 33 through June they were 53 and 31 48-4 in series since the All-Star break you're not going to win a lot of games putting up that kind of record they were very efficient they had a good winning record 631 winning percentage through the end of June June was a brutal month and they still wion 17 and 12 we have to thank the Yankees as much as we as an orial fan base don't like the Yankees they've given us a gift we're only one and a half games which is hard to believe with this record 30 and 33 since July one and a half games out of the AL East lead we're comfortably in front in the wild card I think it's about a three- game lead with 15 left to go but it's it's been a rough ride for the Oriol since July 1st 12 and 13 in July 13 and 15 in August and five and five so far in September next up we have the Tigers a three-game series in Detroit Detroit has scoble going today so I'm not sure if they're going to start him against the Rockies or delay him one day and start them against the Orioles I I'm probably going to go after that win against the Rockies lock it up every win is a win Orioles rotation that's the good thing that's the good message here effin Burns and Povich so two of your three best starters on paper in that rotation start out this series got to get two out of three from the Tigers let's look at the remaining schedule here six verse Detroit you got to go four- two or three and three at a minimum three versus the Giants yeah I want two and one they got three against against the Yanks in Yankees Stadium in the Bronx look I I would take two- one I'm thinking they're going to go one- two really depends on the pitching rotation and the matchups as we head into that series and then you close out with the twins no reason why we can't take two out of three from them so I'm thinking nine and six nine and six maybe eight and seven to to close out the season that's not a bad way to close it out so we'll see what happens Orel still have a shot if they could get some of their guys back if they could start putting on a mini winning streak here get some momentum going into the playoffs and we'll see what happens from that point on appreciate everybody tuning in to bird calls make sure to hit that
