The fan of the night is sponsored by Millwrights local 2158. Our fan of the night comes from the United Township game for it. Wait for it on the opening kickoff. The fans throw powder in the air. It's a great thing to do. Just don't do it during a basketball game, right? It gets all over the floor and makes the mask. I hope Smithers is watching during a football game looks pretty cool. So, congratulations to the United Township fans at the night. Absolutely. Grilling out here on a Friday night. High school football, college football tomorrow, Hawk game. Our burgers are looking good to certs grilling for us. Iowa State representative, Brian Stocking will be here to give the rebuttal for the Cyclones here in a second. But we have more high school football to get to. We will do so on the Iowa side of the river and it is wilt looking for their second straight victory of the season on the road at West Liberty Beaver's opening drive facing 2nd and 25. It's Drew Keith to Cade Serrata. He keeps the drive going later on. It is Owen Hassel punching it in from one yard out Wilton with an early six nothing lead comments looking to answer 3rd and 15. It's Riker Dangler invading the sack and launching it to Marcus Cardona just outside the 10 yard line. Beautiful after the quarter break. It's Seth Axam looking to score stopped at the line until Cameron Ay gets in plows into the end zone. West Liberty led seven of at that point, but it is all Beavers in this one. They cruise 36 to 7. They're now 2 to 0 in the season. A perfect night for football down in Minneapolis as the Bulldogs hosting Seor Kyota, but it would be the Cobras Isaac Burns busting in for a touchdown to give them an early seven nothing lead. Let's go to the second quarter, John Berg picks up a touchdown. Here is the ball is on the turf, a little scoop and score off that kick off on the ensuing kickoff. That'll make it a 14 nothing game but Minneapolis would bounce back. It's Reese Campbell throwing to fellow senior. No Schmidle. It's a big game in the first down as he's tripped up down by 10 and then he's going to finish off when he started there. They pitch it to Schmidle for a touchdown, 14, 7 at that point. This one still in the third quarter, still playing 16 7. Sigourney Kyoto lead must have been a late starter. Brian Stockton can't find the final score a special night. In Clinton as Duke Slater was memorialized with a statue outside of the stadium. Of course, Clinton native, the first black player at the University of Iowa for the football program, a Trailblazer and now honored in a great way up in Clinton other than my, my, my marriage, uh, and the birth of my Children. This is, this is probably a top five. This is just a just, it's a great feeling to have, uh, this statue unveiled today and honoring a great man who did a lot of great things in a, in a, in a time where the opportunities for African Americans weren't that weren't that plentiful. Ok. And so, uh, what he struggled, we, we can now go to the students and say, here's someone that you're going to pass by every day. Duke's going to overlook, not only the football field, but the, but the school in general and it's, it's, you know, if, if you want a role model, Duke's the guy Duke's the person. Yeah. And at the memorial today, the veiling didn't even actually happen. So the wind kind of took the cloth off and it was almost like they were all excited. Clinton was excited. The universe is ready to see it, you know, absolutely. A fantastic statue up in Clinton. A good weekend to do it. Hawk. And as well, the smoke is coming out, we are cooking and it's like, it's almost like your Cody Rhodes coming out ready to thrill the. No, we're not gonna get into that anyways. We got a lot more to get to Brian Stocking here soon with scores. We'll find out how your team did a lot more to get to, to keep it locked right here on the score.
