2021 Breakdown UGA Offense vs Clemson Defense Preview Stats & Performance

[Music] yo what's going on everybody christian balor here with balor sports media looking at it today with georgia and clemson georgia had a great spring game clemson had a great spring game and really i wanted to start out i wanted to break down the georgia offense you know kind of showing this here just to get you hyped up a little bit here because what is a football video breaking down offense without at least showing a little bit of highlights i don't know but anyways folks we're gonna dive in here with the uga offense versus how they might match up against this year's clemson defense and um you know clemson is probably gonna have the best defense in the nation and that's coming from me who is saying a lot about what i expect as a bama fan from alabama's defense i think we'll definitely have one of the best in the nation george is going to have one of the best like think about this you have bama clemson georgia oklahoma clemson um i think i already said them anyway but you have these teams and even though you might sit there and say we're in an offensive era we still have great defenses um and georgia and clemson are two teams that have been a factor of that that we've seen the past few years clemson a little bit more than georgia at least in terms of you know how long we've been seeing their defense be so dominant i mean you go back a few years with cleveland farrell austin bryant wilkins and all those guys anyways uh wanted a breakdown today uh uh compares well it you can't really compare offense to defense but you can at least take a look and then evaluate maybe okay who has the edge between this team and their defense and this team and their offense so today folks i want to go ahead and i want to look at uh the uga offense versus the clemson defense and what could what we could potentially see happen maybe in the week one matchup again these two teams meet on september 4th 2021 um i believe it's a 7 p.m eastern kickoff time 7 30 actually i believe and i could not be more excited for this game i'm always excited more so for the bama game as a fan but let's just be honest and call it what it is the georgia clemson game is going to be probably the game of the year so you look at these stats here let's go ahead and get into it the guy jt daniels now he didn't take over until the mississippi state game for georgia uh last season but in the games that he did play and he played some good teams too if you go back and look at it you know it was it was weird with covet and all that it was uh conference only he didn't take over until game eight um against mississippi state in which he in his first start 401 passing yards it was a close game it was a close win it was 31-24 but in his first start it seemed like georgia had finally found the guy they've been looking for the past few years they found him right in jt daniels right so um what where do you start with this jt is the man right that's been proven he has arm strength he has great awareness good protection in the pocket can run if you need him to i i mean he was a five-star recruit too he was out of usc um and i don't know what it was about usc i don't know if it was like uh a situation where he just you know just wasn't given the chance that he deserved so he said screw it i'm out of here um you know and he just said you know what i'm going to georgia anyway so last year 1 231 passing yards right the highest of any other georgia quarterback and they had their fair share of just i mean trying to figure it out juan mathis is gone he's at temple stetson bennett is i don't want to say qb2 they do bring in brock van der griff this year they got carson beck stetson bennett is if you're smart about this kirby he's probably qb4 on your depth chart i don't know anyway it started out with stats a minute for like the first month or so of the season and stetson i mean he didn't do too bad let's be honest georgia fans he didn't do too bad but it just wasn't enough and even georgia fans knew they had heard about jt daniels they wanted jt daniels but kirby went with stetson minute 86 of 155 over a thousand yards that's not bad but a 55 completion percentage you need at least a 60 61 completion percentage to qualify as a guy that can even be considered on an nfl roster and clearly stetson bennett does not have that but jt daniels look at this 67 completion percentage on average passing about 10 yards a pass longest throw was 55 he had 10 passing touchdowns last year he had only two interceptions he took 10 sacks now georgia who has had greats by the way like great offensive lineman in recent years it was really young for them last year just some inexperience um so you can't blame them too much like oh we sucked and we couldn't protect it you can't you can't rip on that too much you really can't um so anyway jt is the guy for for georgia he is their quarterback kirby has bought into it georgia fans believe it he is the guy so the uj offense you see the stats here you see that um where does it stack up where do you i mean where does it start you know um zamir white it was the key guy for the running back position he comes back this year i believe james cook is coming back as well um just to name a couple georgia has had their fair share of um running backs in recent years going back i think if you ask me um i think their best duo clearly was sonny michelle and um nick chubb a few years ago now you have some mere white you got james cook kenny mackinshaw i mean these guys were great uh and shout out to chess hall i got to give credit to him he talks a lot about his georgia bulldogs and and more players than i've heard of uh but i went back a little bit and i kind of saw some highlights of georgia season last year and it looked great um they bring everybody back jt jt is the guy for quarterback uh is he a heisman quarterback you know type of guy right now i think so um national standpoint outside of obviously georgia bloggers or whatever like outside of them nobody's really considering jt daniels that good like they're not i don't know if i want to say they're not giving him enough credit or whatever or what it is but trust me i i think jt is going to light it up he's got a strong arm he's very well aware he's versatile he's dual threat you know he can run too he can make plays with his legs he can extend place he's got great weapons around them james cook kenny mcintosh you see that there kierris jackson comes in jermaine burton who was hurt a few weeks back you know he's uh he's recovered you got a john fitzpatrick aryan smith trey mckinney darnell washington at tight end darno washington i think is going to be the lead guy there the tight end position jermaine burton you have george pickens he was hurt months ago he said he was gonna be out the whole season um as far as i've heard he's still out and i was making jokes too about like okay uh he's out so you know you guys are screwed you just lost your best guy georgia is one of the few teams in the country and you give credit to clemson too and we'll get into their defense in a second but um you have to [Music] i mean georgia is one of the few teams that recruits very well and recruits well to the point that even if they lose a guy they they're they have the depth they're stacked so next man up next man up next man up that kind of mentality uh for georgia and teams like bama teams like clemson right just like that um so yeah overall again 80 of 119 over a thousand yards passing for jt daniel 67 completion percentage i think that's gonna get better he's gonna have more than ten touchdowns he's gonna try i mean look you'd hope to have less than two interceptions he could have more just because i mean quarterbacks are gonna make mistakes they're gonna have interceptions i mean even tua you know had years where i think maybe he even have four i think he's gonna he'll probably take a little less than 10 sacks you know i think georgia yes it's a yongo line but it's a great o line and you guys bring a lot into it um truly but you know it's still one of those things like um it's young and you just don't know so anyway overall you have the receivers you've always had the running backs kenny mcintosh kendall milton james cook and zamir white lead it and start out um for uh the running back position you bring in guys like dominic blaylock you gotta transfer out of lsu and eric gilbert uh who's a key guy that's the guy that i've heard quite a bit about recently he recently transferred um you give credit to him he's 6'5 248 pounds uh he's from marietta georgia so he's in state uh close to his hometown um they just have georgia and they have quite a few freshmen too at the receiving position but you know they bring in some transfers they bring guys back they just they have the talent again chiaris jackson eric gilbert jermaine burton keep your eye on uh i really want to say george pickens but again he's out for the season he is clearly the best guy on the roster as far as receivers but overall um you know georgia again they're that team they have the depth right they're going to be loaded they're going to have firepower they're going to have weapons right and what's been the one thing that i think has been holding back georgia is quarterback play they have that now in jt daniels jake prom wasn't bad but it just wasn't enough to make it a consistent offense to give the offense that identity to put the offense like to take them serious george has been great in recent years because of their defense nothing wrong with it but i've been saying it on my channel so much just as college football i just think we're in a firepower offensive era where you have to throw the football you need a quarterback you need a leader they got that in jt daniels and he's got so many different weapons now we've taken a look real quick at georgia's offense i won't make this too long we got george's offense down i want to go ahead and dive into let's look at clemson's defense now clemson has been known for the past decade well maybe half a decade i don't know but the past quite some time few years they have been known for great defense this is last year nolan turner a key safety who a couple years ago years ago had um uh the game-saving interception against uh justin fields in that fiesta bowl against ohio state we remember that they got james they got jake venables who is brent venables the defensive coordinator his son um you know they got talent i mean they are just stacked and loaded they bring a lot back brian breesy is a sophomore this year you got kj henry justin foster miles murphy you look at those guys at least up front on the line uh they create some great pass rush and again we're comparing this defense to what uga has on offense i think if you ask me clemson's defensive line or georgia's offensive line i'm pretty sure those guys are definitely going to get through that line not that i'm going to throw the line under the bus but you georgia had guys like andrew thomas or isaiah win or whatever a few years ago and that those are like generational type of offensive tackles that they had on the line that i just think it's it's very um they've just kind of struggled getting back to that level of what they had on offense for the line um not that they not that it sucks for them or anything right now it doesn't they got players but clemson just has that firepower on defense and especially up front reagan up shaw you have brian bracey you got kj henry you got these guys here james skowski miles murphy i mean you bring these guys in that's a good line right there that's a good line to look at that's a good line to to talk about that's a good i mean you got um you just have those guys so um between lines i give it to clemson's defensive line over georgia's offensive line um there right so you got brian breese coming back demonte k part 6'5 305 freshman out of hartsville south carolina this guy right here i'm only going to give a shout out because of where he's from in plant city florida my hometown shout out to this cade denhoff defensive edge rusher 65225 i don't know what he is capable of doing i haven't heard that name he's a freshman but again from plant city florida my hometown uh love all my family back home kj henry is fast good size here six four 255 a junior from winston-salem north carolina he is great and i do believe let me double check something here um yes he he comes back he is probably going to be one of the more you know he's definitely going to be a leader on this clemson defense this year justin foster is going to be great as well um you know i guess he is um he is taking the advantage and the opportunity you know what kelvin last year in opt-outs um everyone gets seniors and everybody gets an extra year of eligibility if they want to come back so justin foster's coming back kj henry is coming back justin maskel uh right here miles murphy is a sophomore so he's not even eligible yet uh but he comes back miles murphy on the defensive line is great these are guys that you look at it all right okay and again we're doing offense versus defense for uga and clemson right these are the guys that are gonna pressure jt daniels can he handle the pass rush i think he can but i'm not going to be surprised if clemson gets a few sacks in there if they get through the offensive line and again i give the edge to um to clemson's defensive line verse george's offensive line you look at the secondary for clemson um you scroll down right you got all these linebackers here sergio allen levante bentley barrett carter um you got all these guys quite a few freshmen on defense too uh jake venables uh blake venables the defensive coordinator his son right there he's got some playing time um fred davis i believe i saw him in the spring game he's a sophomore from jacksonville florida um i remember seeing that guy's name in the spring game quite a bit keep your eye on him i think he'll get some playing time for what i'm hearing uh and reading and and just what i'm hearing you know when i you know i go online i read these blogs and you know clemsontigernet.com and what i hear from you know like maybe all these bloggers or whatever fred davis jack macau joseph charleston i mean these are some names just to maybe keep keep an eye on um you know sheridan jones had 13 solo tackles last year he's a corner three assists tackles uh no sacks [Music] but you know still the main guy true you want to look at stats and everything bailin specter number 10 he's a linebacker for clemson um you know and uh he's coming back um from calhoun georgia he uh he had 35 solo tackles last year two force fumbles no interceptions but he had four and a half sacks overall when you look at it um these i mean you have all these players for clemson and georgia overall it's it's not easy for me to do i mean it's not easy for me to pick who has the edge all i'm gonna say here is this folks that georgia has an offense but clemson has a defense quite honestly i'm gonna i am huge on georgia this year i think they could win it all right and if i'm gonna be honest and i'm gonna give my final answer who has the edge in this game uga offense versus clemson's defense and again i'll do another video comparing clemson's offense to george's defense but go ahead and answer this one right now i'ma give it to jt and his receivers here's jackson and and uh blaylock and and um i mean it just saw those guys i'm gonna give the edge to george's offense over clemson's defense but don't be surprised these guys bring pass rush don't be surprised if you see some some you know punts in this game from georgia because clemson's gonna stop him a couple times but george is gonna have some firepower and a chip on their shoulder jt has a chip on his shoulder this year right he's gonna be great we expect that but i don't think we're giving him enough credit i feel like maybe he's one of the more like not underrated quarterbacks but maybe maybe we're underestimating him just a little bit and maybe he's going to be better than we think like we know he's going to be great but maybe maybe he's got a little something extra in him i don't know but overall guys i give the edge uga offense versus clemson's defense i give it to the georgia offensive jt daniels to get it done there so i love you guys thanks so much for tuning in today and watching and see who really has the edge there if it's like this and i say maybe it's clemson's offense you know then maybe this will be an offensive game if it's not and maybe george's defense has the then it looks like it's all georgia but i'm sticking to the uga offense to get it done here and put some points up definitely on the scoreboard against clemson's defense i love you guys thanks so much
