[Applause] and welcome back to place we discuss all things my name is adri Adrian what's do man how are youy hey man doing all right over here Saturday um kind of a lazy day for me but not too bad what about you same man lazy day um you guys know as we mentioned in the previous video in the middle of a move so still in the works of unpacking and all that so it's going to be a long month month and a half I don't know how long it's going to take me to get everything organized but we're doing it man so um glad at least to be finally moved in uh but man I was able to watch the game here I know you were as well usmnt USA versus Canada uh Jesse Marsh taking all his frustration out on the ussf here and ultimately Canada ended up winning 2-1 in a very very unconvincing display from the United States uh you know this kind of shows how Canada has you know is a friendly to take it with Grand assault but Canada definitely has closed the gap on Mexico and USA recently the last five matches for against Canada for the United States where this loss in September 7 2024 2-1 uh they tied 22 in the Gold Cup in 2023 July in June 2023 they USA won two Z in the Nations League uh Canada beat the USA two- Z in the FIFA World Cup qualifying back in um January 2022 and a draw back in the FIFA World Cup qualifying 1-1 with Canada so the last five matches have been two wins for the USA two wins for Canada one draw so very very even and um you know today to's match I think it's kind of a reflection of that and if it wasn't for Patrick schy um stepping it up in the first half with a lot of really key saves I think it would have been a lot worse for the usmnt but um what are your quick reactions and quick thoughts on on this usmnt performance what a sloppy performance dude super sloppy performance all of them were super slow it looked like they like they've been playing for a while together and it just looked like they they've been playing for their first time uh as this lineup of with this formation six years of Triple G either they didn't he didn't do 33 exactly like he didn't do anything or these guys just you know were pretty much carrying the the US MNT regardless of Triple G so I don't know man it's it was a very poor performance poor show from from the usmnt it's been I was since seen a match like that from them yeah I for an International Friendly I know we saw disappointing performances in the go Medica but for friendly um yeah he was disappointing and you know it just shows the complacency in the usmnt squad which is why so many people are trying and clamoring for and hoping that modino is indeed the one that takes over because he is known to you know get that out of his players and have them perform higher than you know maybe they should be we saw that year time and again with Tottenham hudur um now he was able to consistently battle and get them to you know higher places in the table and you the Champions League final um so I think it's just that that complacency for this team that has settled in they have been the same you know 23 more or less players for the past six years and change is needed definitely and U hopefully thato um announcement gets you know materializes here soon um let's go through the the lineup real quick and some stats Patrick schy was the one that was starting in goal which was surprising a good surprise for usmnt fans um he had a pretty good Olympic so deserved start there maybe this is a sign that they're moving from Horvath and Matt Turner to and looking for a younger goalkeeper for the World Cup um the backline of four as we mentioned was going to be scall um Christopher Lun Richards and Tim ree in the middle in the middle three was cardoso Janny cardoso Malik Tilman and Unice Musa Gio R ultimately had to be U left off he got injured and K cow k cow was the one that replaced him on this roster um and up top was balagan and on his left and right were pulik and arenson so a familiar lineup and um like we said I mean if it wasn't for shy a lot of this you know it would have been a lot a lot worse here ad why don't you kind of go through the stats for us sure so I got eight shots from the usmnt 17 from Canada Five On Target on the usmnt seven on Canada possession wi the U7 ended up with more with 58% of the ball while Canada had 42 total passes 510 358 from Canada that goes to show that Canada was pretty much playing you know uh waiting for them to for the usmnt to attack a lot of counterattacks over there um and yeah 18 fouls for the usmnt 11 for Canada one yellow card on each side and uh one offside for both two corners for the usmnt and Seven Corners for Canada so um yeah you can see that it was a it was an interesting match nless to say a match that uh you know obviously usmt had more possession but that didn't ultimately mean anything um I think the one chance they had in the first half they created was that bag gun uh kind of laid it off to pulik and PK shot off wide uh which is kind of the only thing that they had going for them in the first half um but really I think uh it just goes to show yeah like I said the complacency and I I don't know man was there anybody that really stood out for you I think Johnny cardoso is um really messing up his chance here with the US MNT um you know he he has had a season in Europe but um when he's played for the us7 he's been really muted he he hasn't shown what he's shown in Europe and maybe a lot of fans are starting to question him um you know balagan again the gold drought continues right um didn't see much from Tilman um not not a lot to learn from this match you know after the match it was funny because um Jesse Marsh said that uh they asked him if he enjoyed he like yeah of course I enjoyed it uh we were on the front foot the whole match and you know this coming from a guy that you know feels he got done dirty from usmnt Federation I bro he was having a picnic bro yeah he was having a field trip out there um you can tell I mean I was watching the the match and you can tell that he was just enjoying every single moment of it um as far as like a stand up player for me uh maybe Chris Richards is also another player that looked okay on the pitch unfortunately he uh he got overshadowed by how bad team R played this match dude Team Green had a bunch of uh turnover balls easy ones I mean he he isn't necessarily the the culprit on the first goal but he gives a very bad pass to Johnny cardoso and then Johnny cardoso feels the pressure and just makes a huge mistake which leads to the first goal of can Canada so overall I mean he he just looked I think this is this is the moment where you you know us as as us MNT fans start to realize that it's maybe time to leave team BR behind and start bringing other people uh into into that you know that that position or just use him as a third option for your center backs right you can definitely use his experience he can be a one of those you know veteran players on the roster but he is not a solution anymore for that Center back position um and lastly another thing that I just I just want to mention is how lackluster fadin balagon is with the US MNT granted he's not g a he's not having a great time at Monaco even uh yeah even at times not being the starter but maybe this is goes to this goes to show that sometimes you got to take a risk on who you you know uh cap as a as as as a national player and maybe perhaps this is one of the reasons why G Sate didn't didn't really necessarily was you know falling over uh F Balon because get a chance with Arsenal exactly and then I mean every single it just makes it easier for the likes of hajir rri and other other Strikers because they come in and the bar is so low and not saying anything I'm not saying that hajir had a bad job did a bad job with K Pepe and didn't have enough time to see to see actually them you know to see them actually playing but this sets the bar so low that you know whoever you put on the pitch as a number nine will have a you know an immediate impact on on the on the team yeah if you can get a decent a number nine to get a decent spell of games going it'll make a huge difference right away exact just because that bar is so low um shout out to L Lor who was the one that did score the goal his first ever usmnt goal um he hadn't scored prior to this match so that kind of was a positive here um but yeah Kate card Pepe were kind of you know hard to rate just because they were the field for so long but I I think that I agree with you completely uh worst performances by Johnny cardoso and um team gream and uh yeah it just goes to show that uh like we mentioned in the preview video his age is catching up to him and um I'm okay with him being on the World Cup roster as a backup for that experience right um but maybe it's time to bring in Mark McKenzie in there with Richards or somebody yeah like that right I mean there there's no lack of um of depth especially in that position Carter Vickers you know you got you got people out there um so it's worth a try to kind of start phasing him out it kind of sucks man I I guess it goes to show that the MLS is still way below uh in the picking order against the eppl right yep and I think the only positive for you was that Len didn't score right he got a couple he got a couple and I was I was I was happy that he didn't score dude because he would have been so cocky you know they would have probably interview him and he would have you know throw a jab or something or saying like hey yeah we continue to be the best team in the conaf uh region um but yeah he didn't score maybe maybe he scores against Mexico I don't know that'll suck even more for me there you go uh yeah later
