score at Stanford bridge but also tonight the game plan was actually pretty well carried out quite conservative to a degree first half and then exploded into life didn't they for a period in the second half and put Chelsea's goal under real pressure so been able to get through but it was tense it was nervy it wasn't great it wasn't perfect but you know some plus points a positive debut from a young player through that's the most important thing and valuable game time I think for back five in particular that will most probably change in its entirety before Sunday against Crystal Palace so and unscathed I think that's always a big thing you come through without any injuries and it seems to be that way I think they're the things the inred you look for of course the results the main thing could have been easier but um we're through that's the most important thing fireworks in the stands and on the pitch but Chelsea progressed at the group stage of the conference League final score on the night cette to Chelsea 1 lose through 3-2 on Ag and before we leave you let's take a look back at how the action unfolded in in Geneva well for a whale Sam it looked as though it was going to be a pretty comfortable night for Chelsea in the end it was anything but the Blues by far the better team in the first half and almost ahead early on yeah they they tried to make it difficult soet by by kind of camping in and Chelsea probed but I thought they made some half decent opportunities in the first half this was very early on it was a lovely exchange and Enzo Fernandez wonderful technique and a drawing a a fine save at this stage you with Chelsea popping it around and looking ever so confident but also making inroads towards svette goal you you felt it was only a matter of time and that's how it played out really and this was the opening goal I love that big Up and Under from ronato Vegas inamoto lost his bearings mudri won the penalty no doubt about the decision nor the way it was dispatched no I mean mri's performance first half I thought he was bright um in some tight spots where it was quite congested he manipulated the ball well and that was really good play from him good anticipation and it's nice to have two superb penalty takers in the building now kungu incredibly reliable he's looking wonderful technique and uh he's been a big difference maker when you think about in this tie stepped up on two occasions and finished beautifully both times the goalkeepers guess the right way two different goalkeepers for sevette over the two legs in both times they've had no chance couldn't get a sniff of that power plus placement equals Perfection this was a decent goal as well though wasn't it to tie things up in the first half can let me know yeah I think cessa showed himself across the the two games to be a decent player he's clearly had a a terrific start to the season in the Swiss league and it was a a lovely crafted goal and really well finished into the second half Chelsea had plenty of chances to make this game safe be scratching their heads wondering how they didn't that was a very difficult one for Christopher and kko In fairness to him but there probably ought to have been another goal in the Blues column tonight yeah especially after the second sevette goal went went in Chelsea started to make opportunities copious opportunities really on the on the Counterattack I think that was due to the game state with them chasing the game really enjoy with this from for madri you can see ju is not going to be able to get into a position to be played in he just takes it upon himself to drive and drive that last touch I think you're wanting to draw the goalkeeper out but you want a bit of space between you and the keeper so you can just elevate it over the top of the uh incoming keeper but really good play had some good moments again tonight but frustrated probably the the the opportunities the simple things sometimes let lets himself down but that was a fantastic moment from him so that then had a spell themselves and had opportunities to get themselves back into the game crell Off the Bench did just that yeah I mean he he absolutely made a difference just through pure Brawn really Chase lost causes some muscular presence up there and caused the Chelsea Center half's a problem and it was the two substitutes combining savanovic with a lovely ball in and he attacked it brilliantly well this was Nicholas Jackson being a fingernail offside or a toenail as it turned out very very close decision this took a while to sort it out was the right decision though deflection took it perfectly in to his path he finished it really confidently as we saw on the replays it was really close unfortunate because of that stage that would have just killed it and uh we all could have done without the the t's last 10 minutes Palmer absolutely made a difference I think he was involved in maybe three or four opportunities that were crafted and Jackson with a lovely tidy finish on his left side but it didn't count and it meant that the nerves continued orbe it probably after this point it was Chelsea who had the better opportunities rather than cette he mentioned Cole Palmer was heavily involved as he always is Sam this was an opportunity for him as well and that's the ace up the sleeve that Enzo maresa has right he can name a almost entirely different team to the one which took the field against wolves knowing that should it be required he's got plenty of quality in reserve yeah he would have hoped not to use them tonight I'm sure that's always the uh the game plan or the the hope when you come into a game like this evening rest up and yeah you only use them if the game's on a knife edge and unfortunately here just popped up I think that was probably a product to the pitch I think he he's probably just trying to caress that into the corner of the net but it skips up and therefore goes quite High just unable to keep it underneath the crossbow you should see there it's quite difficult to control it for him it's unfortunate and then finally Christopher andu thought he had a really good game actually
