TOP 25 ALL TIME Baltimore Orioles | #16 Nick Markakis

[Music] [Applause] [Music] welcome back into the channel folks the Birdland Network we're back with another video in our continuing series of the top 25 all Baltimore Orioles now this is my list of 25 Orioles that I think are the best of the best over the history of the team what I'm looking for are those players that have been with the team at least a minimum of five years have obviously done well and excelled on the field as players and then they're indelible Mark with the fans and and the organization over time do fans remember these players do they have a special place in their heart and we're down to number 16 and number 16 on the list is Nick marus now Nick marus I think is a player that I want to call him a Mr consistent guy he wasn't a power m a major power hitter not even really any kind of power hitter he never hit more than 23 home runs in a season and he only hit 20 or more twice in his entire 15-year career but he played for the Orioles from 2006 to 2014 so he was there for nine Seasons he did hit 141 home runs in those nine Seasons with 658 RBI I'd have to say his best season was probably 2007 when he had 23 home runs 112 RBI and he batted 300 for the Orioles that year but he was never really this major hitter he always probably hit two or three in the order but probably was better served as a two-hitter but he was actually really good defensively as well in right field he was a good outfielder with a really good arm and he could go get the ball he really could so Not only was he a good hitter not a great hitter but a good hitter but really good defensively and to be honest with you he was a leader of the Oriols the entire nine years that he was with the team he was one of those quiet leaders just went out and did his job um he did get one All-Star Game and was a Gold Glove winner three times now to be fair the All-Star game was when he was with Atlanta and two of the three gold gloves were with the Orioles one of them was also with Atlanta but I still think he's a really important piece to the Orioles history of course 2110 with him and Adam Jones was a big thing at orial Park for the longest time as well but there you go number 16 on my list Nick Mar is good player going to be in the Orioles Hall of Fame if he's not already at some point and uh he's number 16 for me where does he rank for you let me know in the chat in the comments I'd love to know where Nick marus ranks for you and that's it folks number 16's in the book Number 15 is up next and until then keep rooting for those OES and take care of yourselves and each other
