the UFA Champions League will feature a revamp format for the 2024 to 25 season replacing the traditional group stage with a new league phase each of the 36 participating teams will play eight matches four home and four away against teams from different pots ensuring a diverse set of opponents the top eight teams from this phase will advance directly to the round of 16 while those finishing 9th to 24th will enter a new knockout round to secure a spot in the round of 16 the league phase runs from September 17th 2024 to January 29th 2025 with a knockout round starting from February 11th to 12th 2025 the final will be held at the aliance arena in Munich on May 31st 2025
