moving um so we're getting our house this week so uh busy busy week so that's why we're recording all these episodes at once um but yeah this is the preview episode for the upcoming matches friendly matches against Canada and New Zealand for the usmnt uh the usmnt has now officially named their roster for those September friendlies the the I guess the camp has started the players are in from Europe and Mikey varis vas Chilean American guy is serving as the interim head coach for these two friendlies um his per formation is 433 just like bur halters was so we won't probably won't see a lot of um changes in terms of uh well there'll be a lot of familiarity in terms of uniformation and lineup so um uh quickly some news here reports coming out that poo situation with chelse he has resolved and that he will be announced officially on Wednesday September 4th take that with a grain of salt uh but it's looking likely um but yeah the the roster for the sept friendlies um ad why don't you kind of go through that list for us bro let's go get goalkeepers we have Edan horbath from Cardiff City Diego Cohen from Barcelona 2 Patrick Schulte from Columbus Crew Matt Turner for KR from Crystal Palace four Keepers that's a lot Defenders we have eight Defenders as a Austin trusty from Celtic Marlon FY from stard Lees Christopher Lun from Palermo Mark McKenzie from tulus uh Team bre from Charlotte FC Chris Richards from Crystal Palace Joe scell from Bia M blackback and Caleb Wy from Strasburg um I think it's a leag league on team if I'm not mistaken midfielders we have Johnny cardoso from real Bettis Luca deor from Sela Deigo Idan Morris from Middlesboro yunus Musa from AC Milan Gio Rea from Bia Dormont and Malik Tilman from PSV ovin and then as last we have forwards Brandon arenson from Le United ferin balagan the gun from Monaco Ricardo Pepe from PSV oven Chris Poli from AC Milan joosh sergeant from Norwich City and right there to from centry City yeah so I think for the most part uh usmt fans will be pleased with this roster I mean obviously we still have yeah I think the big the big question mark now for a lot of these guys is um goalkeepers who's going to be the goalkeeper 2026 Matt Turner is not playing Ethan horth um plays on occasion Theo Co and up and com in Barcelona too but um you know obviously still just 18y old and Patrick shty who had a good Olympics decent Olympics um but uh you know who's going to take to take that spot do you go with somebody young and do you start implementing them now to get them ready for um the World Cup if so why isn't gagas lolina here um and or do you stick with Matt Turner and just pray that he doesn't have one of his Matt Turner isms there in in the world cup so um interesting there for goalkeeper I think the most exciting here for Defenders man is for for the roster is the Defenders I'm a big fan of finally calling up the standard Le player Marlin fzy the right the the right back um McKenzie who's we've been a fan of um you know who who now plays in the in France uh deserve deserve lineup I think the big question mark here is Tim re I I thought we were gonna be moving on from him um you know especially now that he's back in MLS but I guess he's still gonna be called up um and then Caleb Wy who's been you know who moved to Chelsea recently and alone with strawberg who recently got a um an assist in in France um so a lot of talent there a lot of squad depth especially if you take into consideration you know uh like Carter Vickers wasn't called up um and death wasn't called up so definitely a lot of like we said a lot of depth there midfielders other again I think it's the same you know that we've come to to to to see before minus Adams um also well mckenny and McKenna yeah you're right mckenny who still at Juventus kind of re assimilating working his way back into that roster like he's had to do time to time again right um but uh yeah I think uh you know for these two matches it' be interesting we see Aiden Morrison there if we gives some if the USM gives some time Johnny cardoso and gioa who usually uses this usmt Camp as a a time to get much needed play time um forwards I think he brought a lot of number nines for in balag pep Wright s Sergeant really the position that has always been a question mark for the us7 the last couple years and Still Remains a question mark Char Sergeant playing very well Fuller and balagan playing not so well right kind of in the middle Ricardo Pepe still limited after you know being benched from by D Jang right I mean still yeah so forwards that we're all familiar with and um I think USNC fans will kind of have a um know what what to expect from these forwards but um another one real quick I forgot to mention now Jedi Robinson is also um not yeah is is he injured he is not injured but I think they're just giving him some rest for this uh these matches gotcha that is true yeah because I was wondering Well normally um he's uh he's normally the the right back right yeah uh left back y back sorry yeah so yeah I was I it didn't didn't actually didn't cross my mind until you mentioned that and I and I thought that something was missing but you know I kept on thinking about Tyler Adams who you know got yeah yeah and team but um yeah all right y so yeah would be interesting to see a lot of these like right back left back guys that are coming in to kind of um get a chance right Marlon FY Caleb Wy uh scall so Christopher Lund um but yeah man um September friendlies against Canada September 7th Saturday and then they wrap up Tuesday against September 10th funnily enough you know they playing the same teams that Mexico's playing just in way smaller stadiums uh they're playing CH Unity Park in Kansas City against Canada and then in um Cincinnati Ohio against New Zealand on Tuesday ad man can you let us know how usmt Stacks up head to get against New Zealand Canada yeah so the usmt against New Zealand they have won two matches drawn one and lost none over the LA I guess I don't know how many matches they have played together but the last three that we were able to find uh goes back all the way to 1999 where the US defeated New Zealand in in a confederations cup uh 2003 the US defeated 2-1 New Zealand in an International Friendly and the last time they they both faced each other was in October of 2016 they draw 1-1 um and I think what L was still playing back then 2016 at least the the deuce was the deuce was not Landon no it's been a while but yeah he probably still with a p or who' he go with Leon Leon yeah yeah yeah exactly so it's been a while since the US m faced uh against New Zealand um but I don't blame it I wouldn't play New Zealand if you know if I guess if you know you had to fulfill s contract you play against New Zealand but it's not top of my list to play against anyways against Canada they have way more history right um they have won 20 matches drawn 11 and lost 11 uh over the last I'm going to say the last six matches we have in 2019 the US won 4-1 in a kav Nations League 2021 the US won one nil kav Gold Cup 2021 September the they draw 1-1 in a fif for World Cup qualifying they lost on January 2022 shortly before the shortly after the World Cup right um no shortly on the year of the World Cup my the year before qualif qualify qualifying for the World Cup they lost two-nil in Canada uh June 18th to 20 2023 for the Nations League the US W2 nil and then July 2023 for the con Gold Cup they tied with the US moved on uh I believe in penalties right because it here that they won but it's it's a tight so I'm assuming there must have been some penalty shoots yeah the one thing that stood out from these six matches you went over here was man the Nations league has already been around for five years since 2019 that's crazy that long all right um but a potential lineup man for these matches uh like we said vas likes to play that 4-33 um I think he's gonna stick with Turner um I would like to see him give the chance to schy even ccken just to get him kind of wrapped further into the us obviously he still be able to transfer I mean if if he if he would like to um but uh that at least gets him a cap with the senior team um but I think Turner will be number one there left backers the Fon center backs the two that are kind of most familiar Reams and Richards and right back joose G in the Midfield I think he'll play a conservative Musa carosa and then up top pulik balagan and Aronson um arenson being kind of the question mark there he's he's been playing decent for leads the start of the season but um you know we know that R can also play that position same with Jos Sergeant so um uh a squad that uh has a lot of um interesting newcomers new faces that I think a lot of fans are happy to see but I think the the main thing that fans wanted here was the announcement of patino and hopefully see poao coach these two matches he won't be coaching them um but hopefully we get that official announcement soon um hope yeah prediction time I'll give my predictions here I think us MNT takes the match against New Zealand 2- nil and I see a tie in the usm's future against Canada 111 um so similar to kind of a pred to Mico I think we said they would beat New Zealand and Tai Canada as well um but yeah I mean should be interesting matches to LC hopefully some some some new players for the Usman team yeah you know that's kind of what it's uh it's a little not necessarily annoying but just not so great with the fact that they all have qualified to the next World Cup right and they only they have to stick to whoever is available um and so they have to measure themselves against the US Canada or Mexico right so yeah to your point it's it's nice that we have this friendly so we can see more talent but it's not necessarily a good challenge to prep for uh the World Cup yeah and I think the only two just a quick fact MLS players here or not European based players here are schy Patrick schy the goalkeeper for Columbus Crew and now Tim re right with Charlotte yeah charl everybody else based in Europe uh with a lot of them playing championship football now and um you know we have obviously the duo from PSV and U yeah be interesting roster and can I think we you can learn a lot from these two matches but um
