Clemson tigers 2024 football schedule preview and point spread prediction

so today I'll be continuing with my scheduled discussion and point spread prediction videos today I'll be doing Clemson so you know Clemson has went three years in a row now missing the college football playoff but now with the new 12 team playoff all they would have to do is uh uh win their conference to get in it they could still lose several games and get in all they have to do is win their conference Championship game and they'll get a top four spot and it I think it's ridiculous that you could get a spot just for doing that and still lose several games but they would so and uh taking a look at Clemson's schedule uh it's not really that bad and uh they still recruit well and have a dbo sweny who's one of the best coaches so they'll have one of the the best chances of all the ACC teams to win the conference and uh on the schedule here in the non-conference of course uh the opener with Georgia is a really tough game and then they have their uh instate rivalry game at the end there against South Carolina which uh shouldn't be one that Clemson would lose this year because I don't think South Carolina is going to be very good and then they play Appalachian State and I think they're one of the better non power four teames but uh if Clemson's going to be able to be taken seriously again they're going to have to beat Appalachian State and then they play Citadel which they'll destroy them they'll have no problem there and then in the conference the road game against Florida state will be a a tough one but that should be their uh toughest one in the conference Florida State should be their biggest challenge uh in the ACC I know they have to play Road games twice in a row but Wake Forest uh I don't think it's going to be very good so uh playing them on the road shouldn't be that hard even after having to play Florida State on the road and then uh Virginia Tech on the road could be kind of tough they're decent I think but still it's a very winnable game for Clemson and then Pittsburgh on the road after that they're terrible I think so uh Clemson should be able to beat them fairly easily I would think uh and uh NC State uh could be kind of a tough game in Louisville but the good news is they get those both at home so those are games that Clemson should win and uh the weeks off don't really come at the best times uh I would say but they don't really come at terrible times they get one right before NC State and right before Louisville uh so this uh opener game against Georgia will be a neutral game for Clemson but it will be of course closer to Georgia uh big playing in Atlanta and it's really just a big game because of how Georgia is right now as a program they're one of the best maybe now the best program in college football and how Clemson used to be because Clemson for six years in a row them and Alabama were the top two programs in the country Clemson made the college football play off all six of those years and won the ACC all six of those years and uh made it to the national championship game four of those years and won two national championships and uh since then these past three years they've been H and three 11 and three and 9 and four and only won the ACC one of those three years years so that's not bad for three years for most programs it would actually be good to do that for three years if a Coach did that at Vanderbilt there'd be a statue put up of them but at Clemson compared to what they were doing it's a disappointment for them and uh really uh I don't think that Clemson really had to fall apart I think they could probably get back to being elate uh but it the problem really is I think that Davos sweny won't use the transfer portal and now with the transfer portal you lose a lot of your uh good uh young players that you know uh will uh play for you in the future but still aren't starting at the time because they're so young and then they want to start so they transfer somewhere else and then Clemson doesn't add anyone else from the portal that's good so that hurts them and it was really these past three years that uh the transfer portal has really gotten going uh and that's when Clemson is uh uh falling apart and uh I kind of think that this could be davo sweny's last year as Clemson's head coach and um not saying that I want that to happen or that I think that that should happen but I've just not seen anything to make me think that Clemson's not only not going to be a but any better than uh they were last season and last season I've looked back at the history and it was the first time in 13 years that Clemson had lost four games in a season and even with this easy schedule or schedule that should be easy I think that they're in danger of losing four games again and uh they didn't add any players in the transfer portal this time and uh they probably want this spring either and they right now have a quarterback that's terrible and they don't have receivers that are good like they used to and the they have an offensive line that doesn't know how to block and then their defense has still been good but it's not been as good as it was when the head brt venables as their defensive coordinator and then they're losing uh their uh best player on the whole team these past uh two seasons uh the running back will Shipley he's going to the NFL and uh he's really what has uh kept them from uh not being a top 25 team if it had to been for him they probably wouldn't have been ranked in the top 25 last season or the year before because he wasn't just a good running back he could also catch and did kick returns for them and uh if uh Clemson plays uh in their opener this year like they did in their opener last year where they got blown out by Duke uh Georgia could be doing another one of their specials that they did on TCU and Florida State and uh even if uh Clemson doesn't play like that and they play like they did most of last season I still think that George is gonna blow them out and beat them by 20 something points and uh now I'll uh move on to the prediction so uh if you haven't seen how I do my point spread scale go back and watch the Ohio State video and then you can better understand it because I explain it in that one so the games in the green are the ones where I think that Clemson will be favored to win by a blowout 20 or more points there are two of those the Appalachian State and Citadel and the games in the blue are the ones where I think that Clemson will be favored to win by 10 to 19 points so uh not close but not a blowout spread uh and I see three of those Stanford Virginia and Pittsburgh and then the games in the purple are the ones where I think Clemson will be favored to win by about a touchdown six to nine points and I see three of those Wake Forest Virginia Tech and South Florida I mean South Carolina and uh the games in the pink are uh the ones where I think that they'll be favored to win by about a field goal one to Five Points I see two of those NC State and Louisville and then uh the games that in the uh gray or games where I think that Clemson will be a one to five point Underdog again uh and I see one of those uh Florida State and uh the games in the uh yellow are the ones where I think that they'll be about a touchdown Underdog in six to nine points and I see one of those Georgia m so uh the uh Appalachian stting game Clemson should be favored in that one somewhere in the low 20s and then sadell they should be favored in that one by 40 something points and uh Stanford they've been horrible for a while now Clemson should be favored to beat them by about 177 points probably and about the same for Virginia uh I'd say they'd be favored to beat them by about 17 right now they've been horrible uh for a long time and uh Pittsburgh uh because it's on the road I'd say that Clemson would be favored by a couple of touchdowns uh probably about 14 points but Pittsburgh was awful last year too and uh so NC stay uh that game Clemson would probably only be about a three-point favorite and and then at Louisville they uh might be a four or five point favorite in and Wake Forest I would say that right now Clemson would probably be a seven-point favorite in or at least maybe eight or nine points and Virginia Tech I'd say that Clemson would probably be about a six-point favorite in that game because it is on the road and uh they're I think a decent team and South Carolina that one uh I would probably say that Clemson would be like a ninepoint favorite in right now it could even end up being in the blow and uh Florida State right now I would say would uh be favored to beat Clemson by just a couple of points uh uh because the the game's out Florida State like two or three points uh and uh Georgia right now I'd say Clemson would be a a seveno underdog probably to them and uh that will be about it with this video and uh uh please subscribe and thanks for watching
