The green River killer pleaded guilty to the murders of dozens of women in King County, leaving several families grieving throughout the state. Though he's been locked up for decades, tonight, Gary Ridgway is back in King County. Thank you for joining us for the news at six. I'm Sabirah Rayford and I'm Matthew Smith. >> Now, records show that Ridgway was booked into the King County Jail this morning. Fox 13 reporter Nia Wong is joining us in the newsroom to walk us through the developments and what we know now. >> Yeah. That's right. Gary Ridgway was booked at 1042 this morning. He was brought here on a transportation order from the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla. The King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office says Ridgway hasn't been charged, but he is in an institutional hold. Beyond that, no other details have been shared. So while we know where Ridgway is, we're still trying to figure out why he's back on this side of the state. When we reached out to the King County Sheriff's Office, they sent us this statement saying, quote, since Gary Ridgway arrest in 2001 pertaining to the green River murder investigation, the King County Sheriff's Office continues to actively investigate potentially related cases.
