green card is a 1990 film directed and written by Peter we the Stars Andy McDow and Gerard deard you and we also have B new Earth and it's because of BB new Earth that I became aware of this she's in it a reasonable amount not as much as I would like but nevertheless honestly I didn't care for it there's nothing wrong with it but I didn't think the narrative was that interesting and the characters are kind of boring they're not bad as such they're not unbelievable I don't believe that they're anything wrong with their reactions to the situations or their motivations absolutely no problems and the performances are obviously very good I just found it to be very slow and not that interesting and a bit predictable and I don't mind a predictable film as long as it's actually interesting but unfortunately it just didn't work for me at the beginning of the film we find out that Bronte and George's are married for green card purposes of course and Bronte is doing her own thing and she happens to see George waiting in a restaurant and suddenly their lives are reconnected and I don't know how you can be married to somebody and then have that person go off and live their own life because what if you want to get married in the future to somebody you actually love not for green card purposes it seems like a really difficult situation but they are discovering each other again and they reconnect and it's all about their potential relationship and also so they might have to answer some questions when the authorities come digging to find out if their marriage is actually real maybe they suspect it's a green card marriage will they get away with it I won't say any more than that there are maybe some things about it that are not completely predictable but in general I feel like it was pretty predictable and as I said I don't mind that necessarily but because I found the actual specifics of the narrative to be really slow and just not that interesting it meant that it didn't really have anything to offer me and the performances are absolutely fine no problems there but at the same time I didn't find the characters to be interesting again not badly written characters just rather dull some good on screen chemistry where it needs to be but other than that I didn't really find anything about the characters to be that fascinating so we have in my opinion pretty boring characters and a very slow narrative and it means that for me there wasn't really anything that particularly interested me so I didn't really enjoy it I didn't come away from it thinking it was a bad film but I didn't think it was a good film either do I recommend it only if either you love anybody who's in this performances are very good as I said BB new worth really great when we did get her in the scenes and if the narrative really appeals to you if there's something about the narrative that you think will really speak to you then sure give it a give it a watch the narrative flow is well enough the structure is good the pacing is fine it's just not interesting to me it could be it's not that I'm not interested in this as a subject matter I just found that it was very slow not very interesting but it might work for some people more than me it has 6.3 out of 10 on IMDb across 26,000 reviews and ratings so it definitely seems like it has appealed to some people unfortunately I'm not one of those people I didn't hate it but I didn't enjoy it I wouldn't watch it again but if there's something about this that draws you to the film then I'd say it might be worth watching
