BREAKING NEWS: WASHINGTON COMMANDERS RE- SIGN RT SAM COSMI 4 year 74 M!

[Music] what's going on Washington commanders Nation we're back with another video today we got some breaking news it actually broke yesterday but Sam cosmi got a bag from the Washington commanders Stand Out guard let's get into it Sam cosmi was the best guard on the team last year as we all know the Washington commanders offensive line was horrible last year and we really got some new pieces this year um three fifths of the o line um is new guys this year Sam cosmi is not one of those new guys he's played on the Washington Commander since 2021 um and it was about time to resign Sam cosmi they got him a 4year deal he will be in DC a lot longer um and if you like Sam cosmi that's a great thing I love the guy I think he's a great player and he's very good for the locker room and his career stats are very good and he um he knows how to block well he's tough and physical and he is a great offensive lineman for the team so I'm glad they resigned him now this contract is a 4year $74 million contract extension he he deserves all this money because he is a leader for this o line and he needs to be on the o line that you know it's no secret that the o line was terrible last year he carried the o line last year he needs to carry it again this year we need him for the Washington commanders he is a second round pick out of Texas and in 2021 um he struggled his first two years with the Washington commanders um you know he was a right tackle his first two years um he really got burnt and he really didn't look comfortable in the offense um he was moved to Right Guard in 2023 and his play took off cosm provided an excellent run blocker and Stellar in pass protection these past few years he's been really good in pass protection and he um that's one of his strengths um he's been able to block everyone that comes at at his way uh and this year we really need him for Jaden Daniels we need him to protect Jaden Daniels this year and if he's not going to block for Jaden Daniels then uh we wouldn't have signed him we wouldn't have signed him for a $74 million contract it's good that he came out of Texas University though because that's a very good University for offensive tackles and really any player um and so I feel like he has a bright future ahead of him with all the knowledge that he got there and I feel like he can work out uh for the Washington commanders and um he's just going to keep going you know um Hope's development um and persistence uh keeps sticking around in Washington and I think um I think that it will he um he's only 25 you know he's a young guy and um he's he's shown that he's he can be one of the best guards in the NFL over the past few years and especially last year and so the Washington commanders had to resign him with how good the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense is we need to be able to block on Sunday which is week one our game um the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are favored by three and a half points so um most of this is because of our o line is not the strength of the team we need to be able to block against the Buccaneers um or else we just we just have no shot at the game because they have such a good D line and they will get after us so we needed to resign Sam cosmi um because he um he will block the Buccaneers he will stop them from you know uh getting after the command or getting after the bucaneers um he will stop all the all the big threats from the Buccaneers and so he will um you know we needed to resign him because he will um be able to stop the Buccaneers and what they're trying to do and who they're trying to attack Jaden Daniels is a rookie too so we need Jaden Daniels to feel comfortable with one of his best o lineman resigned um and so we'll just see um how Sam cosmi do this does this Sunday can Sam Cosby be a firsttime pro bowler in 2024 well I'm going to answer that question yes I think he can he is the best offensive lineman on the Washington commanders and he um he has a chance to be a lot like Trent Williams this year um and not exactly the same position Trent Williams is a left tackle and Sam Cosby is a right tackle but um Sam Cosby can be a um a first- Time pro bowler in 2024 for sure there's no doubt about it he is um he is is going to be a firsttime pro wer in 2024 I am predicting that right now um and if Jaden Daniels has a good season that's going to make Sam cosmi look even better because he is the ultimate source of an o line for the Washington commanders and so I think that um it's going to be a great year for Sam cosmi you needed to resign um Sam cosmi because there's a lot of young guys uh specifically o lineman one noting that Brandon Coleman he was listed as a starter on the depth chart um Sam Cosby has to lead him and help him um throughout the year because if he doesn't Brandon Coleman's going to be lost Sam Cosby has to go out there and help Brandon Coleman throughout the year teach him things and help him become a develop uh a developmental player um and help him play better on the field and so I think that's another reason they resigned cosmi because you know they need him uh to teach the younger guys some uh knowledge and in practice he is a very good player as as well he played 1,13 snaps last year um that's 12th most in the league so one of the things that he's really good at is staying healthy taking care of his body he he can stay healthy um and he he has a lot of potential um when he stays healthy and I think he he's a he he's very good at staying healthy and he's one of the O linemen that actually can stay healthy throughout the year so that's really good we've had trouble with o liman staying healthy in the past um and so he can stay healthy so the money is kind of it's he's worth the money because he can stay healthy that's another big reason why they why they um resigned him because he can really stay healthy who is backing Sam cosmi up at right tackle well it looks like Trent Scott on the depth chart that just came out yesterday or sorry two days ago um are we I don't know I mean Trent Scott is not going to be a starter in the NFL anytime soon uh you know not to say that he never will be um but pretty much he never will be um without without signing Sam cosmi you really have nothing you really have no depth at the position and you really have no um Talent at position really if I'm being honest you know uh the backups for the right tackle position are just horrid um you didn't really draft any right tackles you know you you didn't you didn't really do anything at all I mean so you needed to S sign Sam cosmi because without that you're just lost you know so $74 million what do you guys think of this I think it's a great deal you know I think we um we could have even paid him a little bit more but I'm I'm so um I am so glad that we resigned Sam Cosi that guy is a dog he is a beast he deserves to be in Washington for four more years at least we'll see what he can do first game Sunday Against The Buckaneers here we go I'm going to predict that game before we Hop Off commanders at Buccaneers 425 I have the commanders winning that game 24 to 22 it's going to be a tight one commanders hopefully will win hope we go 1 and0 in our first ever game with Jaden Daniels Dan Quinn and Adam Peters let's have some fun Sunday um I'll definitely make some more videos before
