also tonight the University of Michigan gathering at the diag to also remember the young lives lost and that's where Megan Woods is tonight with more Megan Devin Kimberly a sea of green and white that's not what you typically see here at the diag but tonight it made for a very powerful moment you see behind me this is a memorial where Wolverines are coming to pay their respects and people continue to tell us tonight that while they are rivals on the field they are all students so today they're Wolverines standing for Spartans foreign to symbolize the four hours that students were barricade in their rooms you could just see that everybody was reflecting and it just hit home to everybody actions speak louder than words nothing nothing needs to be said we're all here we're all standing in support and I think that's what matters and it just it meant so much to me when I came out and saw it from studying in the basement of the library I just I couldn't help but tear up I think it's really powerful even after the silence ended and everyone's signing the banner and we're all just still silent kind of reflecting and thinking about what's happened this past week and what to do moving forward these two are Spartans who graduated but live in Ann Arbor thinking about the disturbing moments that unfolded Monday is more than difficult listening to the police scanner and just hearing them name the buildings that I had classes in and my freshman year dorm and just picturing it all in my head between the grief this is something where children's hopes and dreams are gone sometimes before 21 which is absolutely unbelievable and the support to see the community come together and see people showing any green they have in their closet and just really was comforting this vigil also brought strength in Oxford shooting Survivor now A U of M student reminded everyone that these faces should never be forgotten do we find solace in our solidarity to demand that changes be made and made Alexandria Brian and Arielle all rest in peace and as that many students walk from class to class or to the library or anything like that they take a moment they stop here and reflect about what happened on Monday those lives lost now after the vigil everyone signed a banner to send over to MSU and those students and even during that moment they were all silent so it was very powerful to just be there in the moment Devin Kimberly sure looks like a little crowd as far as I could see there yeah just absolutely packed tonight all right Megan
