Intro Jaguars wrapping up training camp practice Miller Electric Center we're three days out from the preseason opener we got Jaguar safety TR Edmonds here with us on 1010 XL T how we doing man Training Camp I'm doing well definitely feel a little tired you know it's hot outside right now but man we're excited another great day of practice today full pads again I mean it's been a lot of full padded practices here you got a smile on your face a lot of physicality going on out there how's it gone uh you know it just bring the competitive nature when you have to pass on uh everybody's just out there competing uh trying to make each other better and you know just as a team we're just getting better each and every day we always hear the DBS the linebackers the D linemen they're talking about Ryan neelon we see you guys getting hyped on every play you guys are making it's a different feel here than we've had in years past what has Ryan neelson and his staff brought to you guys uh you know coach Nielson and the staff they're just uh trying to bring that energy every day they're trying to just make sure everybody know that we're competing uh we're going against our offense but we got to play uh our style of Defense each day in practice every day it's like a game day I go out there and compete put your game face on and let's go out there and make plays lot the young guys in that secondary jaran Jones deontre Prince a seconde guy and Antonio Johnson you Young DBs being a veteran in this league what are you seeing out of some of the young guys in that DB Rim uh you know just uh the eagerness to learn uh they're really just out there just trying to soak up everything be a sponge of the game uh going out there just making the calls being confident with it and trying to help out the best way they can regardless wherever they get put uh they go out there play to their best ability play Fast play smart and go out there and just hold the team we talk about iron sharpening iron you got Trevor Lawrence Evan Ingram Christian Kirk Offense gabee Davis Brian Thomas obviously going up against these guys every day how you think that offense is looking right now man you know they're looking good um both sides of the ball we're still competing uh we're both just like you said Iron Sho and zon and you know you're going to get some of the best guys and I think they're going to get some of the best guys on defense as well so um each and every day just is going to help the team out in the long run in that long stretch uh and January February when we're really going out there trying to get it uh these days are going to pay off let's talk about you a little bit I mean 79 n career starts in Why Jacksonville the NFL former first round pick you had a lot of opportunity I'm sure what was it about Jacksonville what led you here uh you know just the opportunity and then uh just the scheme and everything and I just felt comfortable uh so when getting out here getting on the grass um there everything that I could ask for so now it's just going out there wherever they put me just go out there try to help the team out make plays and do what I came to do you know it's an interesting situation because you're bringing a veteran presence they just Veteran presence signed Adrian Amos she's bringing a veteran presence young guys need that right there's going to be a all in Camp people are going to get tired and guys like you have been through the grind you can kind of stay on these young guys now you're right um even guys like uh Trey uh Trey flowers me Adrian all the older guys that they brought in is just you know I mean guys that been through it like you said and again it's just iron Sho and iron guys that played at a high level for multiple years so now like just having that person to hold you to that standard I think that's good for the younger guys and uh they're just grabbing on to gravitating to it and even some of the younger guys is vets here uh they're still out here competing so it's we're having a good time final moments with Rell Edmonds you played for Mike Tomlin in Pittsburgh now you're Playing for Doug Peterson here with Doug Peterson in Jacksonville Mike Vel a little bit last year you got a pretty good resume of head coaches man I mean what's it like now to play for Coach Peterson compare in contrast to him with maybe some of your other guys man you know they all just talk about winning football I think that's a a common theme uh when you're going around great coaches uh people that love the game it's just all about winning it's not so much about winning your conference or doing anything like that we're always talking about the Super Bowl you're you're not staying small-minded you're thinking about the big pitcher and you know his one game at a time uh so each and every day we all have the same common goal we know each and every play every walk through rep everything is um in order to go to that common goal and I think that's the biggest thing I can say that compares with every every one of the head coaches I had before as we begin to wrap up Saturday night you finally get to hit somebody else right I know you know Playing against Alouettes tempers flared a little bit earlier in the week it's that time of camp but final you go against the defending world champions Al be it preseason how excited are you for that opportunity man I'm excited um just to go out there and put the pass on against somebody else uh you still taking them all the way to the ground now uh instead of just the th up that we doing practice and you know what I mean it's just a good chance to compete with new faces uh going against uh new schemes and going out there just showing what you can do so just go out there play Fast play comfortable be yourself and I think that's the biggest thing I can do now final question you were signing a bunch of autographs a man of the people out there you get in front Message to fans of these fans on Saturday Saturday night at EverBank stadium fans have been great in training camp supporting you guys what's your message to them when the ones coming
