National Championship they brought a ton of guys back they brought some complimentary pieces in in big spots but these guys here with the Buckeyes have something to prove yeah the standard here in Columbus it does not change to your point it's National Championship expectations every single year and that's true for this roster it's full of seniors and veterans that have won a ton of games but have a bad taste in their mouth because they've fallen short of that ultimate goal we spent all offseason talking about how talented this roster is there was really only only one hold to fill that was at the quarterback position last week we saw the debut of will Howard and it looked like a debut some good but certainly some bad some throws he'd like to have back talking to Chip Kelly in our meetings this week he reminded us on that on the course to pursuing that national title he does not need to play Beyond himself he just needs to Simply do his job and be the facilitator and point guard to all those weapons lots of weapons especially a young freshman by the name of Jeremiah Smith who wowed in his debut let's bring in Brook Fletcher down on the field yeah Jee when you're building a championship caliber team you got to make sure you have the right Playmakers on the field and that's where wide receiver freshman Jeremiah Smith enters listen last week what he did he put up two touchdowns and I talked to his teammates and his coaches this week they could not stop raving about this guy including his quarterback and will Howard he told me hey on the first day of practice if you told me to point out a freshman he would be the last guy I would point to because of of his size he's a physical specimen there's many people in this program that feel that he could be a starter in the NFL that's the type of confidence they have in this young star and yes he gets credit for his physical attributes but also his work ethic the way he goes about his business they say that he just has this maturity that you normally don't see in a freshman so much excitement surrounding him they really feel like he just Elevate this offense guys thank you so much Brook and there's Ryan Day 11 and two in each of his last three years years but only two and four in those bowl games for him year number six at the helm of Ohio State this big year for him no longer calling the plays on offense I think when we look back at the end of the season that's going to be one of the decisions that dictates and changes the landscape of college football Western Michigan you are the visiting team today this is a head and that is the tail what is your call Tails tails is the call it is ahead you have won the toss Ohio State you want to defer you want the football which direction you want to kick thank you spin your backs [Applause] please Ohio state has won the toss they Deering their choice to the second half Western Michigan will receive the football and they will defend the north goal good luck gentlemen see trayon Henderson there Jake he is one of the best backs in the country when he stays healthy yeah and that's really been the only fault is he hasn't been able to stay fully healthy for the full length of the season and you know this offseason Ohio State goes out and gets Quin Shaw Judkins through the transfer portal that's that's going to help trayon Henderson that's going to help them both stay healthy as you know in this new landscape of college football it's a 156 game run to winning that National Title I also think it's a good example of the selflessness in the leadership of trayon Henderson a lot of guys maybe wouldn't welcome added competition to their room but trayon Henderson told Ryan Day coach if it helps the team win then I'm all outside but the Buckeye offensive line the more they can dominate the better served this offense will be fourth play fourth pass Howard across Ohio State this is just a great scheme by Chip Kelly they sent trayon Henderson on a little wheel route out of the back field and you notice there's no Bronco defenders in the area at all making an easy catch for Iuka and you're right we spent so much of this offseason talking about Jeremiah Smith auka is a first round Talent at his best as well four catches last week he's got two on this opening drive Howard goes under Center first run of the game single position but at some point throughout this season this Buckeye offensive line they're going to have to flip that switch in their head and say we're going to dominate especially down here inside
