State football is and who we're going to be facing this weekend so let's go ahead and get into it my goal is for this show to be the ultimate breakdown of the upcoming Arkansas vs Oklahoma State matchup Arkansas is entering into this game as a 7.5 Point Underdog so it's a plus 7.5 Underdog the over under on this game is set at 62.5 so both teams right now are 1 and0 but they both come into this this game with different strengths on both sides of the ball right now as y'all can see Arkansas is currently ranked 56th overall nationally but by PFF these are PFF rankings by the way our defense ranked 60 46th in the nation and our offense ranks 48th in the nation that's a huge surprise right how how many of y'all would thought would have thought that right now Arkansas's offense would be 48th and our defense would be 46th now keep in mind Bobby patrino historically has offenses that are all ranked in the top 50 in the nation so right now we're on par even after week one now as I stated Arkansas's defense is 46 and our offense is 48 Oklahoma State on the other hand holds a higher overall ranking at 39th in the nation but their defense ranks much lower at 104 101st while their offense sits at 60th this could be an opportunity for Arkansas to exploit the Cowboys and their defensive weaknesses now we're going to get into some of those in just a little bit now on offense Arkansas lean M towards the passing game in week one so we had about 50 5 7.7 of our plays through the air in Oklahoma State per usual they like to throw in pass because you're G to get a heavy dose of Ali Gordon this week Ali Gordon is going to give y'all fits well us fits because I'm I'm a Razer back too but just understand that there is a lot of balance with with this Oklahoma State team even though a lot of they a lot of their plays are run plays we showed some good efficiency you know what I mean we had uh expected points added at at 75 per run and then uh 65 per pass compared to Oklahoma State's negative 11 negative point1 per run and 32 per pass now in the passing game Arkansas's quarterback quarterbacks earned a solid PFF grade of 90.6 with a passer rating of 127.783809 now in my opinion in my humble opinion this game is going to come down to execution and we're going to really see what Arkansas is made of and if they can actually capitalize on some of these metrics this is a huge opportunity for Arkansas to pull off an a national upset National eyes are going to be on this game Razer back nation National eyes are going to be on this game it a a lot has changed from a week ago nobody even cared about Arkansas Point Blank period nobody cared the biggest story in Arkansas football about Arkansas football was Bobby patrino but right now the biggest story is the talent on the field which is what we want now let's get into some of these matchups man y'all know who we got on defense but who does Oklahoma State have on offense who does Oklahoma State have on offense I'll go ahead and start it off with the quarterback Alan Bowman I'm G to get into Alan Bowman in a second I'm going to go into player breakdowns in a little bit but you got Alan Bowman at quarterback you got Ali Gordon II at running back then you got Tyler Foster at tight end then you got dejon stribling at wide receiver Z or wide receiver one you got Rashad at wide receiver 2 then your slot is going to be Brennan Presley now these are all key guys for for Oklahoma State these are all names that you're going to have to remember Alan Bowman Ali Gordon Rashad Owens DeShaun stribling and Brennan Presley and you can throw in Tyler Foster too now across the offensive line at left tackle they got Dalton Cooper at left guard they got Cole Birmingham at Center they have Joe Ma machowski at Right Guard they have Preston Wilson and at right tackle they have Jake Springfield and you already know who we got on defense we got your boy Landon Jackson we got cam ball we got Eric Gregory Nico o davier we got Jem single not not Jem single ter but um we got um Jaylen Braxton we got Jaden Johnson Hudson Clark zavor Deno Slaughter and Brad Spence these are the matchups right here this is Arkansas's defense Mano imano with Oklahoma State's offense Jaylen Braxton is gonna be manto man with deshun stribling or Rashad Owens the niiko slaughter might be in the slot covering Brennan Presley then you got I think that's Jem single ter over there yeah Jem single ter at the other Corner covering either Rashad or desan so these are the matchups that Arkansas and oklah that Arkansas has to worry about from the offensive side of the ball for Oklahoma State now I also got some grades for y'all just in case y'all were wondering because maybe maybe y'all want to dig a little bit deeper into the matchups like I do here is a graphic of that same lineup that you see here our offense versus their defense offensive line grades versus defensive line grades DB grades versus wide receiver grades the biggest advantage that I can see on defense is our defensive line versus their offensive line now it does look like Cooper is going to be a good matchup with with Landon Jackson because he's graded out at 75.3 Lon Jackson is graded out at 75.7 now when we get to that run game this is what's going to be important how much of a difference is this 83.7 going to make up for the 53.5 that Birmingham has or the 66.3 that machowski has or the 66.1 that Wilson has how much of a difference is that 62.9 that davier has versus that 6 65.9 that Springfield has these are the matchups who going to cover 54.3 Foster we got a slight Edge at at cornerback against Owens Jaylen Braxton's graded out at the 79 Point 77.9 stribling's graded out at a 71.6 Presley's graded out at a 75.4 then we take a dip then we take a big dip Slaughter's graded out of the 55 .5 and I'm hoping that's in pass coverage because he's solid in the Run he's solid in the Run game we know he's a head hunter as long as he can keep his head up without without creating contact or or any type of uh targeting we'll be good with slaughter but he's got to work on that but what about Robinson over here at 63.8 what about Clark gred out back here at 69.5 what about Jaden Johnson back here at a 56.7 now I don't want to see like a I don't want to see him like a hater because keep this in mind Arkansas did great last week Arkansas was phenomenal to put up 70 points last week but there were wrinkles or there were some crinkles wrinkles and crinkles in our defensive secondary because time and time again more often than I liked uapb receivers got behind our defense luckily we were able to avoid a score based on the fact that UAP B's quarterback stepped out of bounds and then there was another play that one of the one of the uapb receivers blew past Johnson and it got called back because of a penalty all I'm trying to say right now is that this Oklahoma State team is not uapb especially at the skill position and y'all know I got some film too so just let me cook just let me cook y'all I don't know how many eyeballs I got in here right now I got I got 90 people in here and I got 38 thumbs man hey if I promise second but first let's get into the man of the hour Alan Bowman Alan Bowman is the man that's going to be running this Oklahoma State [Music] offense man shout out to Jaden Bates for becoming a member and joining the Hog Wild crew thank you Jaden Bates I appreciate that Alan Bowman is a 6'3 red shirt senior his hometown is Great Vine Texas he went to high school at Grapevine now some of his accomplishments are 2023 CAC academic all district team 2021 Team all academic team Big 12 2019 first team academic all Big 12 the the thing that makes Alan Bowman so special is the fact that he's returning for his seventh year of college football and his second year at Oklahoma State in 2024 after receiving an eligibility extension due to his season ending injury in 2019 he started 29 games 39 games played more than 8,800 yards of offense and more than 50 touchdowns he respon he's responsible for he's been at Texas Tech he's been at Michigan and now he's at Oklahoma State one of the most experienced team leaders that they have he's earned five letters five letters so far in his career with one at Oklahoma State two at Michigan and two at Texas Tech now in his game in his past game this in his game this weekend he had 24 completions on 33 attempts he went for 245 yards and he had a 72.7 completion percentage he averaged 7.4 yards per throw his longest yards his longest pass was 58 yards and he had two touchdowns with no interceptions this is Alan Bowman this is the seventh year super senior that everybody's been talking about on Oklahoma State's team this is the guy that's went up because I just did a show the other night Monday where I think he had like 101 yards but now he's up to 126 I checked the stats again today now he's at 126 he averaged 4.5 yards per carry and he had a long of 22 yards he had three touchdowns now let's get into their receivers and other Playmakers dejon stribling dejan stribling doesn't have a lot of accolades he spent two years at Washington State before coming to Oklahoma State he played in every single game during his first two seasons at Washington State he had six receptions for 83 yards and he averaged 13.8 yards per catch his longest was 27 yards and he had zero touchdowns dejon strippling is a 6'2 red shirt Jr his hometown is cop Capo or cap Hawaii he went to Capa High School then we're going to get into Rashad Owens 6'2 red shirt senior his hometown is San Antonio Texans AKA SE toown I don't know why I added an eye to the end of Roosevelt but y'all know what it is he went to Roosevelt High School just like DeShaun stribling he doesn't have a whole lot of accolades but he was the 2023 Texas uh Texas Bowl MVP and he was the 202 three AP All Bowl team uh recipient or attendee Rashad had three receptions for 81 yards and he averaged 27 yards per catch so it sounds like he's a big play guy his longest catch was 58 yards and he had one touchdown then we get into the little guy the scat the scater the Speedster the slot guy Brennan Presley a 5 fo8 senior out of Tulsa Oklahoma he went to Bixby Bixby high school now Brenan Presley ain't that big but let me tell y'all Brenan Presley is a player the boy got some accolades behind him I'm about to read I'm about to run him down Brenan Presley is a 2023 season Captain voted by all his teammates first off 2023 first team academic all Big 12 2023 second team all Big 12 coaches and AP 2023 AP All Bowl team 2022 first team academic all Big 12 2021 first team academic all Big 12 2021 second Team all Big 12 returner voted by the coaches 2020 AP All Bowl team so the boys been getting accolades for about three years now going into his fourth year he's a senior now he didn't red shirt or anything he's been playing since his freshman year so understand he's got experience behind him this is what this is what his bio reads one of the biggest Playmakers on the roster who has also been voted a team captain by his teammates he has he's excelled on offense special teams and in the classroom he enters his fifth season in 2024 with some of the best career numbers in OSU history in OS you history as he ranks fourth in catches with 225 catches seventh in receiving yards with 2548 receiving yards and 12th in receiving touchdowns with 16 he is also fifth with 1,1 1,219 kickoff return yards listen to what I'm saying y'all this boy is 5 foot eight but he is an absolute playmaker at the receiver position and in the in the in special teams he's sixth with 50 kickoff returns and just outside OSU top 10 in allpurpose yards with 4,18 allpurpose yards his 33 Oklahoma State University starts entering 2024 are the most of any skill position player on the roster and are the third most on the team he has made multiple catches in 30 consecutive games entering 2024 and he was an Oklahoma Gatorade high school player of the year in 2019 this is Brendan Presley y'all absolute stud playmaker now in his in his game this weekend he had seven receptions for 35 yards he averaged five yards per catch and his longest was 10 yards and he had one touch touch down now Arkansas secondary is going to have to step up our defensive line is going to have to step up yeah yeah the matchups look good but what is Landon Jackson really going to do this weekend is he only going to be in position or is he going to make plays is niiko davier going to take his game to the next level because he had an exceptional game against uapb I've been telling people all year about ni davier I've been saying it the whole time I love niik davier but AR is Arkansas really gonna be able to make up the difference on the inside on this interior defensive line with our linebackers are we going to really be able to stop Ali Gordon or at least slow him down are we going to at least be able to slow him down that's the question that's the key because I I haven't even talked about Oklahoma State on the defensive side of the ball just as decorated as linemen but they also have three linebackers this ain't just your ordinary three 33 one of their linebackers is going to be standing up like a rush end they're going to be more so like a rush end now the matchups are like this of course we got Carona and then for me for me the surprise the surprise of of last weekend in my opinion in my humble opinion is amarian Harris amarian Harris looked great last week he looked absolutely outstanding absolutely superb like I said in my Monday show there was a there was a play as a matter of fact it was the play that jaquin and Jackson broke loose on for about 40 yards Carmona and amarian Harris they both pulled and created a convoy they created a convoy for jaquinn and Jackson to follow behind and then what was missed was that Blackstock went up field and also caught a block to break him loose but these are the guys these are the jimmies and Joe's that Arkansas has to worry about on the defensive side of the ball we know we got we know we got the guy Andrew Armstrong and I truly believe and I pray that he's healthy and he's ready to go this weekend we got Isaiah satna I've already said Carmona amarian Harris Addison Nichols Josh Brun keesan Blackstock Luke HW ton green jaquin and Jackson Tyrone Broden but who are these guys on the other side of the ball for Oklahoma State y'all might recognize this guy right across from Addison Nichols that guy right there smiling in the middle at nose tackle he used to be a Razer back whether y'all know it or not do y'all remember Colin clay I know y'all do but let's get into it man let's look at these offensive matchups by the Numbers let's look at these player grades by the Numbers y'all know I'm a numbers guy man I'm getting my NBA in data analytics right now so I'm a data analyst man I love data I love numbers I love numbers now these are the matchups that we're we're really going to have to focus on because I don't know why they have Rashad Deion back here they need to put J Quinn and Jackson back there but let's get into these numbers man so Andrew Armstrong is graded out at a 75.8 sat's graded out at a 59.4 broen's graded out at A 55.5 T Green's gred out at a 68.1 and de graded out at at a 64.8 but we can remove him but we can we can replace him with jaquin and Jackson who grades out at I believe jaquin and Jackson grades out at like a 87 87.1 or something like that and then we got Carmona who's grading out at a 81.5 then you got cus which they can replace him too we don't have any stats onari and Harris from last week so we'll just have cus right there for right now at 54.9 Addison Nichols graded out at a 61.3 and Josh Brun is actually graded out at 70.7 then black stocks graded out at a 61.1 and then of course Luke H's graded out at a 70 77.2 so off who is really going to open it up for Arkansas offense is our offensive line going to be able to duplicate what they did last week against uapb are we really going to be able to duplicate what we did to allow jaquin and Jackson the opportunity to get up field are we going to be able to to to to take advantage of the the deficiencies on the Oklahoma State side of the ball their slot quarterback is great out of of 42.7 their strongest DB is greated out of the 71.2 Smith is second at 68.6 their inside linebacker is great out of the 73 they're porous on the back end similar to Arkansas if I'm being quite honest Arkansas and Oklahoma State look a little bit similar from from a gray perspective but is tailon green going to be able to be the xfactor on the offensive side of the ball to really open our offense up Ton green is going to be the xfactor for our offense Ali Gordon is going to be the X Factor for Oklahoma State's offense let's get into the players y'all know I had to do it and and it's not often that you see a player with no tackles but one interception that is insane to me how does that happen but let's get into Corey black man and just so y'all know I'm G to have a very fifth year with 50 career games started well I'm sorry 50 career games played in 26 starts he played as a true freshman and sophomore when he start and then started 26 games over the past two years his o his 26th Oklahoma state starts rank as the most on the defense and fifth most on the roster he had zero tackles and one interception last week which is crazy he's not coming up and run support at all then we got Trey Rucker now oh I got I got a little bit more to read on uh Cory Cory black I'm tripping man my special guest Friday told me to tell y'all this about Cory black he said first four years starting were a mixed bag of inconsistency he's improved his speed significantly to now being the fastest player on the team that can hit 22 miles per hour on a fairly regular basis now he looked good last week but he needs to prove it this week this is what he said about Cory black this is somebody who covers Oklahoma State for living this is what he's telling us about his players now the game by passing the ball I think so too but I do I think Bobby patrino is going to be cooking up some Zone uh some Zone runs though some some delayed handoffs because they're gonna they're not Patrina was at Arkansas so Bobby knows something that we don't know about tailon but on top of that my biggest key to us winning defenses I defense I believe is going to hold up I think so too but it's can t and green make them plays that the defense gives to him is the biggest thing of it so you think ton green is going to be the X Factor he is going to be it cuz our running game I already know we're going to be able to run the ball we usually do pretty well last year not so but other than that I mean I feel like we have run the ball in the past years pretty good but it's tailing green y'all think that the ntion the national impression of Arkansas is going to be do do you think that the national media and everybody outside of Arkansas is going to think that Arkansas is a real team and do you think that Arkansas has the opportunity to go into Auburn undefeated and possibly win that game and go to Texas A&M and and possibly be undefeated what do y'all think the Arkansas's potential record could be going into Texas A&M if we win this game and I'll start with you Connor well you know where my thoughts are I mean I have was 5 and0 up until we get to Tennessee so I mean look if it's all about Bobby Vino at this point like everybody has said you know he's going to be the exactor in this game as far as a coaching standpoint I think um because he's he's been there he's done all this stuff he's had he has great coaching experience and he he understands how to get through to a a player when it needs to be done and he's going to sit down and talk to his players and he's going to let see say well look you guys are ready you've been here in these situations before uh maybe not here uh maybe last year you've been in these situations you know how this feels you know you know there should be no anxiety there should be no nervousness that you should just come in play cool Cal and collected and win the ball game and then at the end of the day when we finally do win 3428 or whatever the score is he's going to sit everybody down he's going to say look this is what happens when you play as a unit you're going to win ball games and we're going to shock the world and we're going to do this on a regular basis each week week to week and we're going to get better and better and better and better and we're just going to keep proving people wrong because everybody right now is just gonna say ah you know PB uapb not that great of a team yep okay the my thoughts on that is is that those players don't play there for no reason I mean I'm not going to go and play at uapb they wouldn't take me I'm not that talented saying you everybody can say oh you know we could out we could go out there and score four touchdowns against uapb okay well then do it I mean right if you were that special or that talented you would be in this position but you're not you're out here talking about the game so and these players so the fact of the matter is that they prove that they were better than uapb by a landslide if they prove that they're better than uh Oklahoma State by a landslide then it's going to start getting people's attention they're going to start looking at the game different they're going to say hey look you know now we're going to start evaluating differently how they play against you know you know going to U Auburn uh beat Auburn and they're going to say okay look they're going to play against A&M it's going to be a different atmosphere this year we're not sure how A&M is you know I think we're isn't there a bat line that says that we're projected to beat A&M this year I think I don't know I I haven't seen that but before we get into B lines let me go to focus ask asking that same question what do you think about that Focus it's I'mma tell you because the SEC be with Arkansas man you know like it's like like my biggest thing with the SEC is the SEC itself and the real so be honest with you my personal opinion I don't even think the uapb the you were about to say something I I can I can completely answer that one for the answer is yes but we're gonna be at 25 that's what put us because we have like two votes right now as far as what everything is concerned I think but the the way that I see it is like if we beat the number 16 team in the nation they'll jump down to probably 20 we'll come to 25 that's exactly how it's probably going to play out because like like uh everybody else has ever known Arkansas to you know play like a good team or whatever will go up maybe three spots and that team will come down one it just it's just how it is when they when it looks at Arkansas they don't they don't see us as a better team than we are until we prove it like we did in 21 yeah I agree with that I agree with that 100% I just don't like the fact that everybody's on Arkansas's jock this week you know what I'm saying like Paul fine bomb ESP everybody at ESPN is all over Arkansas this week when last week nobody even cared it's the dominance see that game against uapb could have went two ways it could have been a normal 54 to three or 54 to seven game yeah but it was dominance on both sides what people fa to realize too is that we took out our starting quarterback and running backs at halftime now let's just let's just say listen let's just say let's just say if Pitman had a little uh uh what's the name from Old Miss in him yeah he don't care he would have just kept bang we could have easily put up a 100 B we could have I agree with that and it was 10 minute quarters in the second quarter I mean in the second half 10 minutes what I'm saying like you like they still owe us 10 minutes yeah touchdowns with our third string too yeah I think o I think Oklahoma state is gonna see that 10 and and listen my thing I project this if Arkansas can jump up 21 in the first quarter they can put up 21 points I think for the rest of the season y'all see y'all would know how serious Arkansas is yeah I think so too I think this this is going to be the game that determines the rest of Arkansas SE I've been saying that all off season this is going to be the game that determines the rest of Arkansas season because if we can beat Oklahoma State that means that we have a chance in those SEC games you were talking about Focus yeah but but if we if we can't I got us beating arbin and T man listen I'm 12 and0 but listen I would you rather have what we have right now with a potential to get a sizable uptick in wins as the years ress because it's not going to just fall off after this year no way no no I mean right now Embraces the hog and that's what I love about him and it's like I think what coach Pitman needs to do is slack off trying to be friendly with the players yeah and be hard on them put your foot down on them like if you don't do that they're going to think that it's okay okay I messed up I'm going come back to the sideline you going Pat me on the back and I'm going go back out there and try again no you got to put your foot down and say Hey you messed up clean it up and go fix it right like you got to but I think s pitman's going to be here for a while and this is um this is a Redemption for this is how I see it regardless of how this goes he gets fired or if he get if he gets to stay until he's just you know too old to coach anymore the way I see this going is Pitman is here to help te- whe and Bobby patrino mesh there it's the first year together it's you know new coaches getting to understand each other and it's the whole thing with everybody together trying to figure out how this is going to work so the way I see it going and the way I would love to predict it going is that Pitman rides this thing out Fades off into the Sunset you know as a hero in in Arkansas's eyes because he gets t- will the head coaching spot he takes over the team leaves BP as his uh offensive coordinator everything goes on happy and healthy and we keep winning games like we should be as an SEC team okay all right hey all right so I'm gonna end it off with this with this answer I do not want to rebuild I think that what Arkansas is doing right now is on par with everything that we need to have happen in order to be successful in the SEC moving forward Bobby patrino has come in with it on his mind that he is going to set all the wrongs that he had in the past right he has it on his mind that this is a Redemption not only year but a second chance at Arkansas to make things right for this fan base because he is the key to Breaking whatever Arkansas 10year curse we've had over the past decade since he left he is the key he is the key to making it right Bobby patrino not only wants this team to succeed but he has a point to prove to everybody who counted him out so I if if this is successful if it if it works the way we all think it will with Sam Pitman being the CEO and Bobby patrino being the coach and T will doing what he does by by sending out a defense that with their heads on fire I think Arkansas is going to be a very dangerous team this season I think Arkansas is going to be very dangerous not only offensively but defensively and I think that we're going to get a glimpse of that this weekend win or lose I think Arkansas is going to put the whole nation on notice that hey we are for real that that uapb game wasn't a fluke yeah we beat uapb but it's the way we beat uapb we shut them out we scored 70 points in in in jog mode pretty much much we were in neutral and we scored 70 points we hadn't even put this thing in drive yet then we got some then we got some supercharges on here you get what I'm saying so no I don't want to rebuild I want things to go the way that they are going right now and I hope that at the end of this season we can all say thank
