Hey, good news. We stayed out of the triple digits today. A high of 98 degrees. So we have kept the count at 23 for triple digit heat days in 2024. More than half of those happening during the month of August. Uh, before we, you know, cave into the month, we only had eight triple digit heat days. We'll take it right tomorrow. A high near 97 in Dallas, 98 in Fort Worth. I think a few locations along our western counties will make it to 100. Again, drier air warms faster and we just happen to have drier air along our western counties tomorrow afternoon, mostly dry. But because we will have a little higher humidity and we'll have a lot of sunshine to work with. We could see a few isolated thunderstorms popping up this mainly south of interstate 20 most of us stay completely dry, but again, a few of us could see an isolated storm popping up mainly towards Johnson County areas to the southwest. As far as our temperatures go, we're talking upper nineties Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, the humidity will still be there. So the heat index will be anywhere between 100 to about 103. This is technically below heat advisory criteria, but we'll be watching it day to day. I wanna put your attention though towards the end of the week and the weekend, next weekend that is we are looking at temperatures in the low nineties. This is cooler than what's considered normal for this time of the year. Here's what's happening right now. We have a few little thunderstorm popping up south of Athens and south of Canton. We're going to watch this. But for the most part, a lot of this decays around sunset. We've got a big ridge of high pressure over Texas with an area of low pressure along the gulf. So let me draw that on for you, that high pressure is slowly weakening and around that high pressure, you can see where those showers and thunderstorms are developing. This area of low pressure is going to come on shore in the next couple of days. That's the disturbance we've been talking about that could bring in some rain, middle part of the week. So we'll stop the clock here Monday around seven in the evening. You see that activity mainly south of Waco. I'm gonna fast forward here because the next better opportunity for rain is going to come late week and this is going to happen around Friday Friday morning. We're going to see better coverage of this rain as a front approaches that front is going to interact with all of that moisture that's going to be in place because of those previous disturbances coming in. And this is what ups our rain coverage, this eventually sinks towards the south. I'm thinking we could see that front arrive sometime Sunday going into Labor Day Monday. And because that front is going to be slow, we're going to keep rain chances in the forecast through Labor Day. As of now, it looks like we could pick up anywhere between a quarter to half of an inch of rainfall, beneficial rainfall for us, uh, with close to an inch of rain for some of our western counties where we need the rain the most. And again, this is through Labor Day. I do wanna give you a quick update on the tropics. Really interesting because we have three named storms in the Pacific. But as we look in the Atlantic, it's quiet and this is as we approach the peak of hurricane season, I don't wanna jinx it, but of course, we are going to watching for an increase in activity here in the next few weeks tonight. 78 degrees warm, humid, light winds in place tomorrow 97 I'm keeping about a 10% coverage of rain in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday as well as Wednesday. Again, most of us staying completely dry. But I think as we head towards the end of the week, that's when we see higher coverage of rain and that takes us into Labor Day weekend with highs in the low nineties.
