just screen here for seconds out delighted to be joined today by py mccy uh just announced return to the ring how you doing today buddy yeah M good I'm actually for the first time in seven seven and a half months I'm excited about boxing um I'm glad to be back to get a fair announcment is is it's a big relief yeah I mean I know it was a huge decision for yourself following the the loss earlier in the year of whether you were going to come back to to boxing or whether it was going to be sort of hang up the gloves and that's it for you um what sort of swayed the decision to to get back in yeah listen uh I always said that I wanted to see har far go um and then I got the fight and I then I got my first defeat um so I sat down and thought and and and I had to have long conversations like with myself with my family and people around me uh and I just I feel like I have more to give I I I I haven't had a long career I haven't had many hard Fates and and I I just feel a little disappointed at my performance in February so I don't want to let that defeat be my last performance in the ring you talked about family there um how how much you have an influence and how much did those conversations you had with them sort of fuel the the decision to carry on M ofely um I'm I have three young kids and then and and Mar out seven or he's coming seven and um and getting back in the ring and showing him that that that defeat and failure is in the end it was was a was a big a big part like like a my decision um obviously when it comes to boxing my next fate anything can happen but but I just wanted to set an example like like to the emons that that that that if you face adversary if you face defeat you can pick yourself back up yeah and on that return it's Leonardo CIO in the opposite corner a real chance for you to to make a statement and get back out there and sort of push your way back up again yeah definitely you know from I gathered the Fate was in was offered to a few UK Lads and stuff I think um just just we couldn't make a bigger fight and and this name was given to me and we seen that he had a dangerous enough record and and then and and that's my opportunity to go and get and get back in the in the wind column and and try and push on and and secure big fate again what's it like being back in the Germans sort of enjoying box again boxing again and and having that sort of training and everything and a fight to sort of focus on yeah uh it's great you know I listen i' I've never stepped away like from work so I like I've always been busy and and and it made s strange because I've I've like I want I I boxed at a really good level and and and I still work which which which you don't hear much of um but they get that routine back they get back in the box training um has been exciting because I've really missed it I've really missed that sort of like the bond getting in and hitting the bag short time like like with the gym mates and stuff so it's it it's given me that sort of extra motivation now to to set on sle till my my family and my gym friends and and and and and my PE that that that that that that you can do it again yeah I mean what what do you see this sort of resurgence in your career looking like for yourself where do you want to go what if you could plan the perfect sort of ending to your career what would it look like yeah listen back again on the 1 of November headling in the biggest arena in in the north of Ireland which which is which again is it's another mstone for me so that that's that's another box Tech that I thought I never heard of um but I would love to get it again before the end of the year and then secure a big fight with a big name um there's two arish Lads there as well like uh you have Luke killer who boxed Andrade for the middleweight title um we've spoke to him about fighting and he seems open to it it's just the time is right for him now uh you have Jason Quigley I know who who's looking to get back on the mix and get a big fate but he may be just looking at a massive fight so one of them names would be super um but listen it's it's a stack Division and and if I'm honest if the right F was was offered to me I'd like heavyweight I I would I would consider fting there as well yeah I was going to say especially over on these Shores like heavyweight division is is stacked at the moment there's some some really big Nam sort of on the The Fringe World level scene whereas it's maybe a little bit lighter at Super mid is is that something that of comes into your thinking yeah yeah Len I'd like to have with there there's a big fight coming up next week with Bazi and Hutson I I think it's a really good fight uh obviously I would put bti as a slight favorite but but hoton his Resurgence from his lost till Clark and has move up in with he's been very very good um but the Stacked you have D you have listen there's load of names sack Parker up there now as well and and I think it's a great division so if the right opportunity comes with the right offer I'm I'm I'm I think I'm happy to float in between super medal and they heavy Yeah you mentioned Willie hutchingson there so he's really benefited from that that move up in white um do you think that just shows that the change in weight can can really benefit a fighter and you can become a new fighter in a new way yeah listen the extra six or seven pound it it can play a big factor um in making a lot of stuff in punch resistance and strength and power and speed and timeing and and it could help I from from I've said that in coming back I've had a lot of people say to me about boxing at let heavyweight again because I feel like my best performance came at that we um so it's something that I'm definitely going to consider but I know I can make 12 Stones so it's just it's good to have the option of going between both Yeah you mentioned a couple of the names there likes of Dan Z obviously buatti you've got Lyndon Arthur you've also got Ben Whitaker who's he's fighting on the 12th of October on the bival better be of under card against Liam Cameron I just wondering your thoughts on that fight and the sort of progress that we've seen from from Ben Whitaker yeah don't know he I think he's a special Fighter um he's very entertaining in the watch um and L C is he fought Lyon Arthur and give Lyndon a very good fight so it's a step up for whiger it'll be interesting to see where he does but I think it's going to I think it's going to be like very entertaining um I I spoke a bit on Twitter like will and and it seems like he's he's a top lot um B he's about like he's about s marid either you love him or hear him but I think he's I think he's a great talent um I'm very excited that so I'm really looking forward to it how do you feel about what he does in the ring and if you were in the opposite corner how would you deal with that I guess um it's not my St of boxing but it's in F us if he can do it and get away with it listen it's it's totally up to him um how do you deal with that I don't know you just got to get in and and and and and trying to get probably as rough as possible yeah that's fair enough I have to ask about the main event on that night as well uh Demetri Bal and AR better be F we've waited for for a a long time I've heard a lot of different opinions about this fight which way do you edge I'm I'm very much on the fense I'm very much think on the fense guy but um I'm on the fence BV is 39 probably touching 40 Beville has is still fresh but better have doesn't show signs of going down um and he shows that he he can get knocked down and get up and and just keep coming uh a very great fighter I think it's going to be a great fight I'm edging towards Bibble and but it's a it's a fight that again I'm a massive boxing fan so so I'm very interested that card's a special card um and the card next week is is very special as well but I'm going to edge for bble in the main event yeah an absolutely cracking fight um before we we get to that obviously this weekend Eda blanga is back out in his big opportunity against Canelo ald from spending the time uh in the ring with him uh how much of a chance do you give him in that fight um I think his age play in his advantage he's he's still quite fresh there's there's nearly 10 years between like like me and him and probably him and Canelo as well uh I think it's a very difficult fight for him uh canalo has all the experience in the world he's competed against the best fighters like in the division and and i' like have as well um it's a challenging N I expect like banga to to give him enough to think about but I expect canalo to come out that what are the sort of keys to Victory if he is going to sort of um gain an advantage in that fight what do you think he can worry Canelo with if anything um I was surprised with his distance control I didn't expect him to be able to control that distance and I think it was as much as he was cautious of me and why he was so good at that sort of like distance control which he didn't really show in previous fights um so maybe controlling the distance us using his job which he which when he he does get going he has a really good job um and he has a sneaky righted arm as you can tell um but Canelo is he's a hard EG that that crack but if you look at the P Le performance if you can keep that high volume um on the end of night day I think that's the way to beat him there's been quite a lot of Charis criticism of the fight between banga and and Canelo being made do do you understand that that's I've never seen a feder been involved in the build up till a fight with him I've never seen a fighter take as much grief in my life and then I then I got some of that and it seems the canalo is getting the same I kind of get it a little because banga hasn't fought any of the major names super m i you can say that I won a TT like I little happy with the i you you can have your opinion on it they can where you want but I can't of get it slightly but banga that has 17 KO 21 wins and and and and we found out I found out on F week that it was going to be a final Eliminator the WBA so he's put himself in the position to get that fight and and and I think financially marketability for everybody I I I think it's good F to me yeah that's fair enough well
