And right now, the Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating after a threat to schools in the district spread on social media and local ten Samiar Nefzi is joining us live in Fort Lauderdale with the latest on the investigation. Samir, what have you learned? >> So we know this social media threat was made across several Broward County schools in different cities. This on the heels of the latest school rampage that was carried out earlier this week in Georgia local law enforcement heightened following an alarming social media post threatening several Broward County schools. The district sending out this message to parents and students writing the district is, quote, working closely with local law enforcement to determine the credibility of the threat and taking steps to identify those responsible. It comes following last Wednesday's mass shooting at a Georgia high school. There, four people murdered and nine others injured. The shooter, a 14 year old student the FBI has since traced threatening social media posts to the then 13 year old, who denied making any posts he's now charged with four counts of murder, along with his father. Locally, the Broward County Sheriff's Office releasing a statement writing in part, quote, parents, please remind your children that making a threat against our schools is a felony and carries lifelong consequences, including arrests and expulsion and severe disciplinary measures. >> If a school threat takes ple and comes out right now, you'll start seeing everyone kind of integrating, working together. >> And that's what Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony told local ten last year. While taking us on a tour of Bso's Real Time Crime Center, part created to mitigate the threat of school violence. >> Most of these threats that they're introducing into the community one will impact in some form of felony charge, which is going to be on their record for the rest of their life. >> The second thing that is being missed and not discussed is the amount of resource does it take for our organization to respond to any threat that comes up? All right. >> And right now you're looking at a quote from Broward County School board member Debbie Hickson. She released this to us earlier, writing, quote, it is so frustrating that this keeps happening. Threats are serious and the anxiety it causes students and staff is unforgivable. Whoever made this threat should be punished with severe consequences. Again, we know BSO alongside Broward County Public School officials working to determine the credibility of the threat.
