weekend. But first tonight our big story at nine Milwaukee feeling the weight and the grief of the Israeli Hamas war. The Israeli military says it recovered the bodies of six hostages taken during Hamas's October 7th attack. One of those hostages was Israeli American 23 year old Hersh Goldberg-polin. Those bodies were recovered early today. The military says they were all killed by Hamas shortly before Israeli forces arrived and were found in a tunnel under the city of Rafah, in southern Gaza. Tonight, President Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with the parents of Goldberg-polin. President Biden says he's outraged by these killings. I think President Biden and Vice President Harris are turning over every stone in their efforts to secure the release of the hostages and protect the lives of the hostages and achieve a ceasefire. I don't think they go a waking moment without focusing on this. These deaths are spurring protests and intensifying calls for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to reach a ceasefire and a hostage release deal. More than 100 hostages are still being held by Hamas in Gaza. Seven of them are Americans. Now, all six of the hostages had been held captive for nearly 11 months, and in that time, groups around the world, including one here in Milwaukee, have worked to raise awareness in hopes of bringing them home safely. Sam Kramer is in the studio with their reaction tonight. Hi, Ted. That group, run for their lives in Milwaukee was already planning to get together today. But instead of a reminder, today's meeting doubles as a memorial and a plea for peace. Just as they've done every Sunday since October 7th, run for their lives, Milwaukee still marches on, carrying signs, names and photos to bring awareness to Israeli hostages. We just walked with pictures of the hostages to keep their names out there, to pray for them, to talk about the hostages. Only now this march is one of mourning. Late Saturday, the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it recovered the bodies of six hostages. Come Sunday, the agency said, Hamas executed all six likely Thursday or Friday. It's just devastating. It's really it feels very personal. Among the victims was Israeli-American Hersh Goldberg-polin. The 23 year old, who has family in Chicago, became a focal point for this Milwaukee group on October 7th. Hersh attended the Nova music Festival, though they'd never met him. We were so surprised in April to see a video of him alive with missing a part of his arm and we have just hoped upon hope that Hersh would make it out alive, run for their lives. Milwaukee organizer Heather Berkin says that Hope helped guide this group forward. She says it still will, while Rabbi Wes Kalmar adds he's hopeful other hostages won't meet the same fate. We just have to hope and pray that with the help of you know, U.S. intelligence and Israeli intelligence and Israeli forces, that they'll be able to rescue as many of them as they possibly can. Goldberg Poland's funeral will be held on Monday. Meanwhile, Berkin says the run for their lives Milwauke
