all right ladies and gentlemen welcome back to the channel we're talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers in today's video defensive domination shout out to TJ watt Dante Jackson new edition Deshawn Elliott New Edition these guys were wrecking Havoc against the Atlanta Falcons on the road might I add as we know Russell Wilson the starting quarterback injured with that calf injury so Justin Fields the backup QB was the quarterback for today and you know I know like Sam darnold over in Minnesota Maybe he was going to lose that job to JJ McCarthy probably not at the same time um just the sole fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers deployed a backup quarterback today and won the football game and I you the final score was 18 to1 the Pittsburgh didn't score a touchdown it was not perfect but just the fact like all 32 teams in the National Football League if your stared quarterback had to miss week one and you had to deploy your backup QB and you came away with that Victory every but he's going to take that so welcome back to the channel obviously we're talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers vers Atlanta Falcons in today's video but before we do if you guys enjoy it be sure to hit that like better way to start off the season dominated time of possession 36 minutes to 24 minutes eight of 17 on third down conversions they held Atlanta to just two of nine on third down conversions they had 270 total yards of offense once again with backup quarterback in Justin fields and more importantly they gave up only 226 yards of offense to the Atlanta Falcons Captain Kirk Cousins first action since that torn ailles last year for Minnesota he had 155 passing yards Justin Fields out past Kurt Cousins by one yard today and just in general they only gave up 89 rushing yards that is a phenomenal statistic they ran Pittsburgh ran for 137 rushing yards now you it wasn't perfect uh Pittsburgh did have nine penalties for 60 yards it was all over the place whether it was offensive pass interference I thought that was a little BS whether it was false starts or Holdings or what have you there were way too many penalties and it's just kind of funny Justin field started the game off with a fumble he ended up recovering it but you as we know Justin Fields averaging one fumble per game I think up until this season he only lost 13 of it was like 36 or 39 total fumbles still not ideal and then he threw a terrible pass on second down but they still made it work Justin Fields got in his Groove rushed for a first down not perfect though nine penalties for 60 total yards they were zero for two in the Red Zone the good news is they didn't have a turnover although um that fourth down call on Atlanta's like eight yd line seven yard line earlier on in the game I don't know what on God's green earth they were calling there they could have made it an 18-10 game at that point and then Chris Boswell's last field goal final score would have been like 21 to1 Chris Boswell is the huge winner from tonight's game he nailed a 57 y as his long he also nailed a 56 y he was absolutely perfect and then the Pittsburgh Steelers also forced three turnover so let's get into it player by player Justin fields did exactly what was asked of him today 17 of 23 no turnovers no interceptions 156 yards passing that is 6.8 yards per completion zero passing touchdowns Pittsburgh didn't have a touchdown on the day but with a backup quarterback especially I'm going to take a win because a win is a win and Atlanta's one of these teams that made a bunch of defensive strides Matthew judon Justin Sim I also think they're just kind of an underappreciated defense in general Justin fields did his thing Naji Harris 20 carries 70 total yards 3.5 yards per carry not the best statistic but if you watched that game Naji Harris was a beast he got first downs when he needed to all of Pittsburgh really got first downs when they needed to I would like to see a little bit more Jaylen Warren in the Russian game Two Carries for seven yards man I'm running out of breath exciting day man football is back but you also have to factor in Justin Fields is a phenomenal rushing quarterback so he had 14 total carries for 57 yards averaging 4.1 yards per carry then we also saw a little bit of Cordell Patterson four carries for 13 yards so at the end of the day Pittsburg only averaged 3.3 yards per carry but they dominated ton of possession they got first downs when they needed to and at the end of the day they rushed for 137 total yards George pickings huge winner of the wide receiver room today car six receptions for 85 total yards including a 40- yard bomb from Justin Fields Pat farmouth coming in at number two four catches for 27 yards jayen Warren two catches for 13 yards nii had a catch kvin Austin had a catch Darnell Washington had a catch and PR had a catch as well but they were all for less than 10 yards so once again I'm not freaking out and then also wide receiver number two van Jefferson had two total Targets on the day one catch for one yard so not the best receiving day unless your name is George Pickins but once again backup quarterback in Justin Fields he's never been known as this you know 350 passing yards a game type of quarterback he's more of a dual threat guy as we saw today interceptions were freaking beautiful man Kurt Cousins looked like a not even a mediocre quarterback Kurt Cousins looked like a terrible quarterback but once again he hasn't played since I believe week eight when he tour that Achilles against the M or on the Minnesota Vikings team last season really good because you know Atlanta's getting crowned and I am big on Atlanta I think it's going to take some time for them to get that offense St then considering Kurt Cousins is coming off an injury and he hasn't played a game yet but Dante Jackson new addition in that trade for Deontay Johnson had an interception brought it back for 49 total yards that sounded like a key score at the touchdown he didn't score the touchdown but it was the game clinching interception from Dante Jackson Shawn Elliott also had his first interception as a B Steeler earlier on in the first half I believe but defense man TJ wat was all over the place he had like I think it was two forced fumbles two strip sacks and both of them were brought back from penalties so just kind of gives you an indicator we mentioned the penalties earlier on in the game it didn't sound like anything too crazy but they were all like every single Pittsburgh Steeler penalty and I know they're penalties and they're never at ideal times but I'm telling you especially con especially using TJ watt as the example all of his penalties all of his strip sacks got washed out but he did have that massive sack on travius Adams also had a sack at the end of the day they only had two total sacks but Kurt Cousins really had no time to throw honestly at any point in today's football game Chris Boswell once again the huge winner of today's football game I wish I had him in fantasy football cuz I'm I he went six of six with 250 yarders so I'm assuming he had over 20 fantasy points today um but just great news the only unfortunate thing was Cameron Johnston got injured on a punt he got clipped in the leg it looked really bad Chris bod Chris Boswell had to have his first ever punt that's the only thing I'm keeping note of heading into this upcoming week is what's Johnston's status but Folks at the end of the day it wasn't pretty it wasn't perfect but the offense did what they needed to do and the defense did even more than they needed to do this is going to be a 10- win team put it in pen and it is a huge s relief considering how the preseason went and even if we throw the clock back 365 days
