well this highly Amplified weather pattern will continue through what's left of the weekend into this week and we'll see these cool temperatures persist here across parts of the Great Lakes into the Northeast all the way down into parts of the South where you are definitely feeling those cooler temperatures and if it's not much cooler at least it might feel a little bit drier with quite a bit of Canadian Air moving in it's really not much cooler across the West here and across the plains we've got a ridge of high pressure here with this Ridge underneath it it's warm temperatures are above average with the trough in the East and also this upper low pulling in lots of cooler air from the north we're chilly here now this week we are watching the potential for some tropical activity especially right here in the Gulf I want to show you the upper level map but first before we get there let's go back here and I want to show you the areas of threat this is from the National Hurricane Center we're watching the Western Gulf here a good chance for development they're sending reconnaissance aircraft into that uh on Sunday to investigate and also out into the Atlantic there's some areas out here that need to be watched but back to the upper level map because this is going to be what drives whatever eventually develops here Across the Western Gulf in the upper levels as we move what now into Tuesday we're starting to see that cool air relax across the East the trough starts to lift out and then we turn our attention to the West again we're watching the gulf here now look what happens here across the West Coast we get a trough starting to build in that's going to tug if you will whatever develops here in the Gulf likely off to the north at least that's what the models are doing and that's a pretty strong trough too and what we're starting to see as the season shift it's getting colder and colder up north clearly we're hot across the plain so you're starting to increase that jet stream and because of the temperature differences so these troughs are starting to get deeper they're starting to dig a little harder so you know this looks a little stronger than maybe what we were seeing in late summer as the seasons definitely are looking different meteorologically so whatever forms here in the Gulf will likely get pulled North here with this trough somewhere into the Gulf Coast uh States and then maybe North into the Midsouth into parts of the Mississippi Valley maybe as far north as uh as Kentucky and into Indiana and Illinois as we move toward the weekend still a lot to iron out on that but that's what we're looking like and longterm Let's Take You past this this would be into next week this is the European weeklys you know this trough looks to persist across the West I think we start to see a warming pattern across the East Coast not just this week but that could persist into next week end beyond that really it's anybody's guess but I do want to point your attention here toward the North Pole look at our 540 line the average of it reflecting the climatic change that we're seeing here heading into uh not winter yet but certainly fall as the seasons change and we get cold across the Northern Hemisphere another cool start here on Monday morning a lot of 40s and even some 30s in some of the shelter valleys all the way down to Mississippi mid-50s here much cooler close to 50 here in Memphis we may get into the 40s again 40s back across Missouri and uh much cooler all the way down to Louisiana as we move into Monday though temperatures do start to warm back up we notice numbers back into the 80s still cool across the Northeast 60s and 70s here that will change though again over the next couple of days we see these moderating temperatures so we're back into the 80s and even some 90s for many of you as we move uh through the week across the central United States again a little warmer here we've not seen as much of a cool down here so from South Dakota down into Nebraska even into Kansas we're talking about 90s widespread again on Monday some areas may get close to 100 here across Northwestern parts of Nebraska into South Dakota again another hot day there and another hot day on Tuesday so temperatures definitely staying warm there could be some thunderstorms on Monday maybe a few across the Northeast and also back here across parts of the Northern Plains into parts of the Rockies and across the South as our front is sort of draped here that uh really no major severe threat just scattered thunderstorms of course there could always be a few anomalies within any of these areas but let's take a look at what's going on sort of the big picture thing here here's that lobe of cold air here in the Northeast we are so close to seeing snow some of the higher elevations up in here uh with that cold air Loft that core of cold air some of the models were trying to show some snow up here in the parts of Ontario Northwest of Montreal and Ottawa over the last couple of days I don't think that's going to happen but still nonetheless very chilly here there's your trough here in the East showers across acoss the Gulf Coast and there's our potential tropical system developing here Across the Western Gulf very September like here across the Central and Eastern United States with dry weather persisting into Tuesday now we're moving into Wednesday and we're looking here into the Gulf right so that's where we're going to start to see that moisture move in either way we got onshore flow here so we're going to see the shower activity increase across the gulf with some showers also across the West that's indicative of that trough that's starting to move in with some Disturbed weather with some showers uh across the Pacific Northwest eventually into the Rockies and moving East now as we move into Thursday sometime Thursday maybe even as early as Wednesday night we may see landfall of whatever develops here now I think the track of that really needs to be ironed out specifically we don't even have a storm yet so I would say pay attention really anywhere along the Gulf Coast because I think we will feel impacts and Inland of that too from Louisiana I say far as far west as Arkansas watch this we could get some really heavy rain with this by Wednesday Thursday and then potentially persisting into Friday and then we could really bring that moisture in here not just across the South but possibly into parts of the Mid-Atlantic so that's worth watching this week it's what I'm watching if you enjoy this kind of content I hope you'll come back and subscribe we're just getting started guys we're starting to get really active as we head into winter which is just around the corner so uh hope you'll come back see you
