years ago cuz I'm very excited about Jack lier I'm old I was fan his daddy alider Team USA good career funny guy I've been a fan of Al ligher since before a lot of you were born frankly and when we drafted his kid number two in the draft Jack Leiter a few years ago I was excited he's a Bandy boy he's a stud at Vanderbilt and listen this guy had one year in college and then one month the pandemic hit him in such a way that he only had one year in college and then that one month and then he was drafted eligible so he was drafted way earlier he should have had three years in college really but he had one plus one month and we got him at the second overall pick why high ceiling high ceiling now listen if you're new to baseball it's not the NBA if you're the second pick in the draft in the NBA you're going to start on your team probably that year if you're the second pick in the draft you're probably not going to be an Allstar that's just the truth of it most guys who are the top 10 picks don't ever see don't even stiff an allstar game without a ticket do you have your ticket I got my ticket I'm pretty excited anyway Jack ligher is a prospect he's a young kid he's 24 Cole Reagan was 24 2 years ago did we give up on Cole Reagans no we did not we got value for Cole Reagan a guy named oralis chman who I wasn't excited about that trade at the time well I was because we needed a closer I didn't like the guy I didn't like I needed we needed a left-handed arm in the pen so I was excited about that but I didn't like the guy he's I mean we're mad at Trevor Bower we should be mad at Rus Chapman but that's a whole another video right a RIS Jetman wasn't the guy I wanted but we gave up a big Prospect for Cole Reagan cuz why well I think because you have to trade value for Value but I think the Twitter verse the Rangers Twitter people and all those emotional beings that maybe some of you um flipped out because Reagan just wasn't good for us right and then he got over there and what happened he got good you know what he got mature it just happened it happened at the exact right time for Casey and the exact wrong time for the Rangers colle Reagan 26 Jack ligher 24 I'm not saying Jack ligher is going to turn into Cole Reagan I'm not but he might he's good his fast Ball's a little straight he needs a puta away pitch I don't understand why this is so hard to Texas Rangers gunar Hogan Jordan Wicks he's pitched in 12 games he's been okay 4.53 ra Gavin Williams he's actually been good he's pitched in 16 games he's three and five for Cleveland 3.29 ra clearly the best pitcher so far from that draft Ryan kusk Chase Petty madx Bruns I follow the game very closely I know these names because they were drafted in the first round I couldn't tell you anything about more than half of them because they're not on anybody's radar yet they're still prospects why are we expecting Jack lighter to already be good here's why he's I think the 12th again I got this from the postgame show last night um it's everywhere but obviously I thought Jared Sandler did a great job talking about it on the postgame show last night so I'm going to regurgitate some those Texas Rangers Starting Pitching Depth Chart thoughts he's like the 12th starting pitcher on our death chart right now right I mean are you serious what are we even doing thinking that Jack ligh is a starter Oh Well everybody's injured starting pitchers that are higher on the starting pitcher list for the Texas Rangers gray evaldi Dunning Bradford Haney Lorenzen Urena deg Grom meley Sherer did I miss anybody is that 11 or 12 I don't know I didn't count did you count and then Jack lighter why is he pitching right now sherer's hurt de gr's hurt M's hurt Bradford's hurt who he was our best pitcher when he went down by the way right dunnings hurt I mean I have to look down I mean Michael Lorenzen Andrew Haney Jose Urena these are three or of the John Gray John Gray is one of the best pitchers in baseball right now small sample size over this year so far one of the best pitchers in the American League right now John Gray why aren't we talking about that yesterday's game the bullpen was Elite it was fantastic why AR we talking about that the problem with the offense hasn't been hitting it's been slug we've been hitting we haven't been scoring runs cuz there been no slug doubles Galore home runs gore three solo shots last night I wish we had some people on for it Josh Smith is a doubles triples machine I saw some really good things the problem with the offense I mean I don't want to simplify it too much but adolis Garcia is swinging at everything right now his Chase rate is through the roof and you know what I saw yesterday 3-1 pitch smash for a home run now he did swing at the first two pitches a couple other times but he hit the ball hard uh another double deep Fly ball I guess he hit the pop up where they smash into each other ouch that looked bad you know my point is I saw a lot of good things yesterday ad DOI taking some pitches smashing the ball slug from my Rangers three home runs like I just said and the bullpen was Elite but we're what we're doing we're we're freaking out Twitter is Nuts about Jack lighter today on Twitter now I get it I get it Twitter's nuts and if I'm hurting your feelings that's probably because it's you but that's okay it's an emotional world today and people can as Jared said fan the way you want to Fan be who you want to be I see this I've said this a lot and it actually makes people mad and well if it does make you mad that's you not me this is the best time ever to be a Texas Rangers Fan argue with me we just won the World Series if you expect them to go back to back you're probably dumb the last time that happened was about 20 years ago anybody won two in a row now I'm not saying they can't that's why I'm encouraged that's why I'm excited that's why I go to all the games I go to that's why I do this I'm having a blast Jack lighter getting lit up in what is third start isn't a surprise it should be an expectation and I don't care again fan the way you want to Fan if you want to flip out because Jack lighter isn't ready yet and you think it's time to pull the plug on the jack lighter experiment The Truth About the Texas Rangers that's crazy and I'm glad you're not employed by the Texas Rangers scouting department and I'm not I hope I'm not coming off as a jerk here I'm just trying to calm some people down and bring you back if I can have any little power I'm hoping to give you a little Joy this is the best time to be a Texas Rangers Fan in the history of the Texas Rangers we just won the World Series and we are clearly one of the seven or eight teams that could likely win the World Series there's a good chance there are three good teams in the ALS we are one of them I suspect we make the playoffs I'm not saying we will for sure but we might Seattle's offense is not real good but they've got great pitching the Houston Astros are clearly going to end with a better record than they have now they're still a threat and us one of those three teams is going to win AL West and then it's a crapshoot the Diamondbacks went to the World Series last year nobody thought they were going not even when they made the playoffs did they think it would happen so my point is get in the tournament you got a shot and with our pitching that is on the injured list right now I would take our chances I would take our chances I love this team Wyatt lford is going to be a superstar Evan Carter is going to be a superstar they've gone almost nothing for us loow is a stud at first simeons a studed second Seager is the best short stop in baseball Josh Young is going to contribute big time down the stretch and hopefully in the playoffs ad dois Garcia probably had his best year ever last year but he's still a 30 95 great arm in the Outfield Superstar Jonah Heim one of the best behind the plate and our injured list pitching staff will be the Envy of anybody if we get half of them back and gray stays good and we keep getting what we've been getting there's so much good to see here Its YOU Not the
