the greatest I think there's like a a a a higher part of the the the talent right that they're all like equally great like changing the game like I feel like greatness comes from like what did you influ how did you influence the game did you change a part of the game like like Steph right like changed the game by now everybody shoots threes and dunks no M so like we got Jordan Chang the game we got LeBron obviously Chang the game we got James Harden that's changing the game he got different mov so that's what I think about like the greatest people k Chang the game so like those guys are all in the same pool than me it's hard to like when people ask oh kind of the same right how uh since you played in the league uh how special and how how how does how is how was the feeling being in the middle of the group of guys I mean you obviously play with Luca all all you know great great players uh how does the gym look when you go in like guys are working hard you know just the overall mood like how how does that look I think it it just depends on the guy man cuz you know I had like let's say like a guy like Ronda super technical super always want to watch film always want to be on doing something on the floor you I just so super technical guy super um routine oriented guy so I feel like once you get to the league um that's when your routine is like your routine is what's going to get you there you know routine is what's going to make you there but and you got you know guys like LCA is a little more fun with it like he's not he's European yeah well he's not like he's a kid you know what I mean he's not going to watch a ton of film he's a gamer uh like in the gym he's not like doing particular anything crazy that you would think a guy that caliber would be doing but he has fun with it man like shooting half court shots shooting you know shots off the wall and they're going in and it's like you know that confidence comes from somewhere and it's like him being having fun like that I think it fuels him on the court like that where might have a guy that's totally opposite like shoot like any's cancer this year like wanted to live for 4 hours a day and they're like no we got to kick you out of the gym because you know you're doing too much so I mean it's just like two different sides of it but at the end of the day it's all about routine if that makes me feel good and I could be at this mentality at this point and do my job at a high level and you know they just let it go I'm hearing that you know you bit of a you talk a little Trash uh what are you excited for this coming up season who you want to play who you want to who you want to get to draw to a little bit um I'm obviously excited to be here um and honestly you know on my visit you see all the all the faces on the locker room who's all been through here um you know it's uh and you probably know it better than I do uh it's a special place and uh I'm just excited to to get going you know I love coach Pope the the brand of style we're going to play uh obviously I know who the rivals are here Louisville um so these kind of games that I'm definitely most excited for but but um I don't want to talk about years ago the best I've shot is 95 maybe 94 that's solid though now it's trying to make me feel better my boy shooting 72 it like this think of it like this I think top 2% of people in the world is shooting like '90s right yeah top 1% is 80 and under so you're in the top 2% in the world of people that can gol that is crazy under that can score under 100 bro that's how you got to break it down like that game is so hard bro scoring under 100 is insane yeah now I feel much better about was good bro for two years it's good bro yeah yeah all right you're from Kansas yep uh I did a little research before you know you're smart you're smart um what made you I mean you you played football I didn't know that you played you were wide receiver what made you choose in the end to go play basketball because you know you Kansas kid you had offer from Kansas turn that I didn't have an offer from Kansas I had offer from Kansas State though fo oh KU football did you not uh I mean yeah no I got call Wikipedia okay no but it was it was it was just an Easy Choice honestly soon as Kentucky came in the mix it was I what are we talking about so was that was that coach calar or just Kentucky what what sold you more or what mean I think it was all one you know what I mean like you got this Legend of a coach coming to this little nowhere Kansas place right and not even watching basketball like watching that I remember like had this crazy lead block right in front of him just plaster him and Frank Martin sitting there and then it was like from that point on he was like yeah I need him on my team I need him on my team he never came to a basketball game but like I said buto once it got in the mix I like start you know actually paying attention to what Kentucky basketball it was it was an easy Choice it was a no-brainer um but I love playing football at that time it was fun I played since I was a kid played a lot of different sports growing up like small town kids so you kind of had to play all the sports to like have enough to play mhm and so that's how kind of worked out but I'm I'm the type of dude that likes doing stuff that people say you can't do like oh you're not supposed to be good at that I'm like okay watch okay all so are you the same in classroom or how how the academics was here I mean shoot academics take care of itself right academics I feel like if you just do what they're telling you to do right I mean you might be a 4.0 student if you just do what they're telling you turn in your work right very simp so that was never an issue for you here no not really they made you do it you know yeah I never Stone walk me to class oh Stone was here already then oh my God yeah well I have stone is the greatest for me because he really you know he he he takes it very seriously that I I mean I'm a fifth year I haven't graduated yet so it's like you know he's really on me to to get my degree and I'm really really thankful to have him um because he pushes me harder yeah no that's everybody he's like if you want it if you want to be good at school like they it's set up for you to be I mean as good as you you want to be h a ro you know whatever it is how special is to wear Kentucky Jersey that I haven't worn yet so where where you from I'm from Estonia okay I mean I don't know bro it's it's hard to put in words really like when people at like it's just a beautiful like place for one this this community is a beautiful place and it's like you can't really put it into words until after you leave here like it feels good and you're kind of like oh I'm in Kentucky you got a lot of fans it's like I mean you're the biggest thing in Kentucky you know um you're pretty much got like a pro level status here at Kentucky and but once you leave it's like night and day you don't get the same love people don't really know who you are when you go to other places and so like you can kind of get lost in that where if you know I'm here with three years and I'm like every year getting built up even more even more can't go to dinners can't do this like well you can but it's just you be you know getting bombarded and there's a there's a level to that too there's a point where like now I would just I would sign autographs out here for an hour you know what I mean just like but that's why I got so much love is cuz I was like normal like I didn't try to like oh I got to get out of here I don't want to be around these no I was like I'm a four star everybody else is five stars I'm trying to like you know make a name for the community I'm trying to be in the community I'm trying to like I tapped into that super early but now that's why 10 years later I can come back and it's like I didn't miss a beat you know people still I remember when you did this this and that like oh I remember when you remember when we was at the mall and I'm like I don't remember but I could I could imagine that for them that's a big thing like that's a big thing so how how often do you come back to Lexington honestly this is only like my third time back since I uh left here I came back the first two seasons we had Expedition games out here for the Wizards and the Pelicans and then really probably after my second year I haven't been back out here so it must must feel home oh it feels like soon as i s up the airplane I'm like texting my wife I'm like yo I think this is home right I think we should and we're like trying and it's just like a lot of stuff is like cool you know um the way it's just kind of playing out like we're trying to sell our house back in Texas and I really got nowhere to time me down so I'm like kind of like it here kind of feels nice has the has the city itself grown a lot or changed oh yeah oh yeah especially especially around here but just like you know just driving around you seeing like new building I'm like oh was that here no that was right d like as another thing I love about here is the eats the food is so good bro everywhere's got good food I was speaking about food you played your last year in Italy uh I mean Italy has in my opinion one of the best Cuisine I learned that word cuisine in the world do you agree with that and how was the whole Italy experience I don't agree with that whoa that's crazy you don't like pasta and pizza I mean that's all they have is pasta and pizza that's all you need nah I need I need that steak I need that riby I need potatoes n man I'm a very uh smoked chicken you know what I mean okay barbecue type of guy got no barbecue out there I will say this their ingredients are obviously like the best they got no you know preserv is and stuff like that I think that was the probably best thing about it is so you feel good like the way you ate you can eat and eat and eat and eat and like never feel like full and sick but I got tired of pasta and Roto we I was in a risoto part of the uh Italy where it's just like that you know how like each part of it like they this like carbonara you know what I mean I did like the carbonara that's probably my favorite that I have was carbonara uh how about so that was your so last year was your first time playing out of country yeah uh how was that experience like you know because I know a lot of people are like ah European basketball is trash d d d and then for me you know I'm coming from Europe I'm growing up watching Luca in Real Madrid cooking them Barcelona all these European teams and I'm coming here they're like yo European basketball is trash I'm like who who said that well there is you know I'm not going to name I'm not going to throw them under the bus okay but there is uh there's people who have kind of narratives so what I don't think I definitely don't think the European basketball is trash I mean I think it's basketball it's better than basketball here like the way they teach it y'all know how to play basketball we don't know how to play basketball it's a l it's like say a l form of like how to play basketball how to move without the ball how to you know pass and cut screen screen away pass green you know what I mean what what do you think why why it's so different like why why they don't teach you because we have like the aou circuit and I feel like the a circuit is just like a big pull of the best kids that have no structure where you guys play like you guys are like when I was over there they got like all the little you know it might be razes you got your main team or I don't even know how the tiers are but then you got like a second team then you got like a kids team and then was like all from the same we're all running the same things we're all teaching the same things like here is just not like that it's like we're going to throw the ball out and this guy's going to go one-on-one everybody's going to sit in the corners and then if he don't feel like he can do it well I'm going to give it to the second guy on the team that we feel like and it's just not good B it's not fun to watch it's not fun to play and like at least there you're involved you're passing the cut and you're moving away you might get a slip you might get a little shot like I don't know I that I did respect about the European you know basketball culture is like they actually gets off the game and it shows every European player in the league like has the craziest fundamentals the craziest feel for the game the IQ I was all every oh his IQ is this his IQ is that it's like it's really not that crazy you just know where the where the ball's supposed to go you know what I mean right yeah but that I did I did like that about that it was fun to play obviously every game is you know same importance for wherever you play wherever we going to play we're we're in Kentucky Jersey so we're going to play we're going to play Arkansas what what Jersey you going to wear I I probably won't wear a jersey you won't but if you come to the game and you you have to pick are you are you rocking the Kentucky blue or or I'm rocking what I'm rocking you're rocking what you're rocking I'm neutral so my wife went to Arkansas too oh she played ball at Arkansas so anytime Arkansas's like on the TV my wife's trying to watch it I'm turn that I'm not trying to watch that then like overnight I'm like ah I kind of got to watch it you know be cordial with it but all f
