a spring snowstorm has hit Ontario and could affect millions of people across Central and Eastern Canada parts of Ontario are under snowfall warnings Toronto could get up to 20 cmers of snow by tonight the most snow that's Fallen all year weather warnings are also in place in parts of Quebec and into the maritimes as well as the northeastern us Global News meteorologist Anthony Farnell is with me Anthony what's it like in Toronto now and what's coming Donna it has been snowing all day but it's definitely picked up an intensity within the last hour or so already about 10 cm of fluffy powder across some parts of the city and that was enough to snarl traffic a really slow go on some of the major roads including numerous accidents we may have another 10 cm before all is done here in the city next up it's Southern Quebec and this storm is intensifying so for Montreal right on the edge close to 10 cm in the forecast through Saturday morning the Eastern townships near near 30 cm forecasted and then it's off to New Brunswick where this really will shine 50 to 80 cm of snow in a 24-hour period through central New Brunswick and that will likely be enough to shut down some roads and highways it'll all clear out by Sunday morning and the snow will start melting almost immediately as the sun shines this weekend and temperatures begin to rise Donna all right Anthony for annell in snowy Toronto thanks
