welcome back to the piering mechanical I know I met the women's volleball coach last year the uh when I [Music] was used be at the the radio station [Music] lasty that back even at 15 I mean we did highlight her game at the beginning of the match and she's certainly justifying that call out she's playing solidly today hitting both from the outside and the right side and really doing everything you can wish for um in a freshman outside here so Lexi yoza on the service line in a tight first set yeah both team making some but then come on get over and Sydney Jones again won gets it off the double block oh my God quick set coming to hickey toy right into the net I feel like she wasn't really ready for that set she didn't really have time to transition back um so the ball end up in the net Temple certainly trying to tip over the block first receives from the middle and then from the right side um I don't think it's working that well for them because fdu is really covering de short um behind the behind the block for I don't know what they doing over there but this is not unheard of at the beginning of the Season keep it up ladies come on a lot of things can be cleaned up this is why we have those tournaments at the beginning of the season to really see what works well and again for the sers to really connect with their playersall for Temple look out and that is our out thear Di and they didn't got at all I don't know what they doing but by David for FD and that's probably as a result of so looks like they getting a timeout right now yeah I will say temp really cleaned up their game a little bit now we have a first time out of the game and not over to have unforced errors they really position themselves well as the defense so you can tell that from their previous timeout we see the Improvement which is great this is exactly what you want to see the adjustment within you know the first set it's a 40 scoring run for Temple now David windside backto back years in the NEC title game last year they were the top seed winning the regular season title as co-champs for the first time in school history and they were upset by one of the historic powers in the NEC Liu beat them in five sets NEC best 12 titles now for that Liu program and year before 2022 David wi in just his second in his first season winning the first ever NEC title for this fdu program ending a 33e waight beating Sacred Heart in five sets wow those are some impressive FS um I mean I'm I'm sure he's really looking to um win the conference this year so again these are the good opportunities to sort of screen the players and um really come up with his starting six um before their conference game start there's toy big transfer double block it was H and hickey right there other side War Britt there was a touch there I did not see that um yeah I will say that f is doing a really good job at covering their players so even if Temple blocks that ball um they're picking it up and actually turning into their own Advantage big double block up out toy was there alongside kimberl Y and this is exactly what we talked to Coach wi about he has some big players in the net and Temple has to be temple temple has to recognize that so I think what worked well at the at the beginning of the set is that they were able to Tool The Block um so that's what they should keep doing tough ball handled off the tape and the Kill by Kylie KN what a start to the match for her four K and they're tied up at us at 18 piece you name it she's scoring on alls without two minute warning and twoe time out sent over free ball for fdu what can they do toy that be out of bounds and um I don't think it was a one-onone um however I do think jie can use a little bit of a higher ball cuz she can jump she's tall um I think to really put it down she can probably use like a couple inches on that set yeah it looked like she kind of line drived that she wanted to drive it straight down and send it long fdu is challenging the out call so it is going to be our first challenge of the afternoon that was really tight now I I wonder if they are claiming touch at the net or if they are claiming that ball hit the so whatever their challenge is for that's what they have to go for right so if they challenge the touch I think they have more chances there then I think the ball was definitely outside boy that is really close Olivia humel is there you can see her right by the PIN oh boy maybe off the pinky but it's it's very tough to tell I will say I have a bad track record calling these so I will keep my opinion to myself but whoever is reviewing this is probably going to have a hard time you don't feel like guessing and I don't blame you because that was tight call and I'm sure you know whoever is reviewing this to the referee stand um they probably have different angles as well like this the video we just saw a tough call from the angle we were looking at and if there seems okay so they're calling no touch there say no touch David well since it's no touch and it's our point now so again one thing to point out here is that um in college games or not theose even FD lost one challeng but there was a serving on temple side so you get the point by I'm glad we didn't touch it so there they had block put up there again when you go when you're blocking a player like devp she can p that block definitely right off the hands of toy and out h on the serve out system for f that will be not Corner DAV Port again tough received by War Brittain and it will be a free ball for temple they really need to use this yza the set quick set sent over the middle and not will oh boy all substitution now stuck at the two minute warning but who knows to score for fdu you saw that set up to very well read the tape for an ace by War Britain check that for for Megan Bushell and now we are using a timeout see what we going to come up a little bit distracted dur chall because again they went on a 4 R when we came back in the middle of the set but now it's a tight game again fdu up by one point so this is really I think you got to see what adjustments we're going to come up with because you know but our record is still good in ever kind of you know just fall down and really use those free balls it's interesting there the start of that Timeout on the fdu side it wasn't David wi who started the conversation it was the gr trans for Elanor toi had a great career at St John's and so they they get the veteran player leadership to inject some energy and some words of wisdom into the into the team absolutely and you know sometimes you have like very vocal player leaders um and that can be quite inspiring as a former player i i i to attach to [Music] that anywh under two minutes to go in a [Music] second hey each team left with one time out for the rest of this set by of the set Davenport coming up again they're targeting Davenport on service te so to try and take her out for the attack however all right it's tie ball game of 21 up that ball however um an unforced attack error on their side look like a net violation on and that violation that's what what they get for touching the that they should not touch it hold it oh oh my God all right whatever we do don't touch it don't touch it oh yeah we [Music] did and we just got back again I know like the B has made their way soive by that a very aggressive Serve by our team get it swing it back oh no get it get it swing it I can't believe what's going on now Cal [Music] on and we finished it and we just finished it 35 seconds left to go in a out system plays and now she's finishing strong with that we only down we need that was a very very smart hit um for someone who just is starting their collegate career take a look at what Temple has done minimizing the errors so far today which is interesting I know that was an issue especially against Ryder this was not the cleanest start to this match but statistically still Temple has played a much better game at the
