Illinois Flag Contest

hi I'm Secretary State Alexi janulus for the first time in more than half a century Illinois is getting a new state flag and we're asking for your help beginning on September 3rd anyone with an idea for how our new flag should look can submit a design idea to the Illinois flag commission this is a great opportunity to ensure our flag truly embodies Illinois and celebrates our great state those interested can visit ilsos.gov for more information and check out the contest rules and design recommendations the flag commission will accept submissions up until October 18th it will then select Designs for consideration and will open voting to the public before presenting them to the members of the general assembly who will decide if they want to adapt this new flag I strongly encourage anyone who is interested to let your creativity flow and run your idea up the flag pole I couldn't be more excited about this contest and I look forward to to seeing your designs
