welcome back to another NFL video and in this video I'm going to be talking about Dak Prescott's impending contract situation with the Dallas Cowboys as well as the fallouts of Brandon iuk getting paid in San Francisco and what could have happened if he didn't get paid by the 49ers so first of all Dak Prescott he is next in line to get paid especially after his teammate and wide receiver Duo co-partner CD lamb just got his big-time contract but Dak Prescott he's made a couple comments this offseason that are kind of hinting at at some point you have to realize that there's a possibility that this is his last year in Dallas and he could be hidden free agency next offseason so it started with an article by John Machota of the athletic and he was talking about Dak and Jerry Jones and Dak Prescott because Jerry Jones is known to make some controversial comments whether it was talking about dak's contracts cidi Lamb's contract and Dak said to that I stopped honestly listening to things Jerry Jones says to the media a long time ago it doesn't really hold weight with me so you can interpret that how you want but then Adam shefer came out with an article later today as well where he was talking about how Dak Prescott said he does not need a contract extension to be done before week one in order for him to play against the Browns for the Cowboys to open the season but what he did say in this quote could hold weight as he said I think it says a lot if it is or if it isn't done by then so what could that mean that could mean if the deal is done by by then then he knows he's going to be the long-term future quarterback in Dallas and if the Cowboys know that they want to pay him the market is already set you can get in before some other guys get paid you know what you're going to have to pay Dak Prescott after seeing guys like Jordan love making the money that they are so if they want him to be their quarterback in the future without hesitation then they can pay him but if there is hesitation if Jerry Jones and the Cowboys upper Executives want to see Dak prove it in the postseason before they give him that long-term extension then that could be telling too because that can mean Dak yes he could ball out and get a new contract from the Cowboys but he could also test out his options and free agency and that's the thing for the Cowboys his price would only rise it doesn't even matter if he has a disappointing season this year the demand for quarterbacks if a guy like Dak hit the open market it would be an insane bidding war Brandon auk has officially been paid and he's going to be headlining the core of the San Francisco 49ers especially on offense for the next half half decade and possibly even longer and the Niners love him there's been some Niners Executives that have said to sources that they believe iuk can have a trajectory similar to Devonte Adams and they believe that the ceiling for Brandon iuk is to be a Devonte Adams type receiver and when you're talking about Devonte Adams in his prime that is a receiver that is arguably the best receiver in the NFL at points in his career so we'll see if he can reach that ceiling but regardless the 49ers ended up paying him so it doesn't matter at this point but we did hear things like the Cleveland Browns were willing to offer him the most money the New England Patriots were willing to give him top of the market money as well but he simply just didn't want to play for Cleveland or he didn't want to play for New England as far as where he did want to go the Pittsburgh Steelers were a place that seemed like they had a lot of mutual interest auk wanteded to go there to play Under Mike Tomlin the Steelers had interest in acquiring iuk so basically what the 49ers did since they needed a receiver in return for iuk because obviously they're Super Bowl contenders right now why would you trade them for future draft Capital that doesn't really make sense for your timeline so this what the 49ers did is they offered the Broncos a third round pick for Courtland Sutton and if they got cland Sutton then they'd have the receiver to replace Brandon iuk in exchange for third round pick and then they trade Brandon iuk to the Steelers for something that would be even better than a third round pick so basically if you're talking about what the difference was between Brandon iuk staying longterm in the Bay Area or getting traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers it was the Broncos ending up turning down an offer of a third round pick from the 49ers in return for courtand Sutton
