Violence in schools in Germany is increasing significantly. This is reported by the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung, citing figures from the security authorities in the federal states. Last year, almost 27,500 violent crimes were recorded in schools, including minor and serious physical injuries. This corresponds to an increase of over a quarter compared to the previous year. The German Teachers' Association is therefore calling for increased violence prevention and anti-aggression training. However, the organization continues to reject security services with metal detectors at schools.
