Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever talk about breast cancer awareness & survivors | WNBA

as a female athlete we're given such a platform to talk about issues and talk about things that really matter and especially being a woman being able to talk about breast health awareness and Women's Health in general is huge and that we're very lucky to have a platform to be able to talk about it it's like a lot of times people feel like it would be something that would never affect them and that's the common thing that you always hear from survivors of breast cancer is like you think that it would never affect your life and the people around you and you know our family has been affected by it and people I know and love have been affected breast health is really important uh and it affects many many people um and yeah I I think that's something that we could really bring to the Forefront and continue to support um people in those situations we're bringing greater awareness now because now the world is spending decision of women sports the world is definitely playing attention to the WNBA now people that are going through battles that are so much more than basketball I think it puts into perspective what sport is but also the impact and the platform that you have as a basketball player to help inspire people to encourage them to take care of themselves to teach them they go get screened uh it's it's very important I think it's something that yeah as you said it can be caught early um if you get the screening done stay on top of your breast health screening cuz you never know if something's there if there's something to be worried about so just continually checking on that to make sure that you're the healthiest you can be super important because if it is something wrong you can at least catch it early and not later on and you get these surprises but I think you know educating them and helping them is something that we're lucky enough to have a platform to be able to do
