[Music] I started carting last year with a local program of cing drivers with all the drivers are woman so I won this championship and this year I also competing with men so it was really fun yeah I think I have to prove it more because um there is all men so when there's only a woman everyone is looking at her so you feel like more pressure on you so I went to work in Motorsport because some years ago I started watching formul one of this Motorsport series and I was like interested in what is the Motorsport industry works so this weekend basically we were with um inside the boxes of F1 Academy and we were with engineers and the ders and I think the most interesting thing about it was like when the engineers talk with the driver about their performance and what can improve I think it's very interesting for my future also because I can see the industry of Motorsport like inside them I think this weekend that help me to decide that I want to be in the motorport industry because I really think that it's my thing and because I really like what Engineers do and also what the drivers do so hi my name is Marina Dao Cado I'm from Barcelona but I'm he Italian 2o I'm 23 years old and I recently got my degree in journalism uh so I just picked journalism because I think it's a good exam example for choosing a career where every day is different I didn't have a role model before but now that I met Hanna which is the writer for F1 Academy I think she shares the same values as me so now she's my role model so as that said I follow I follow with Hannah for the whole weekend and I also enjoy the time with my girls the other girls and we well we had a lot of interview with the drivers then I had the opportunity and a pleasure to have an interview with aelia I did an article and it's online so I'm really really happy and really really grad for the opportunity so it's a huge huge huge opportunity I'm so proud of it I hope you like it but the most important thing I hope Aurelia will like it and enjoy it hi I'm sasia um I'm 19 and I'm from London in the UK I'm currently studying mechanical and electrical engineering I've always been into Motorsport and that was I knew what I wanted to do I knew I wanted to be be a race engineer yeah the course has been really really great um yeah we've done a lot of different stuff particularly focusing on coding things like that which are going to be very very valuable I think when I come into the sport um but also a lot of the different design thing design factors um working with different programs on the computer um and things like that it's a much more modern way of learning it's not you know sitting and reading from a textbook it's actually doing the designing and the coding and all that so it's great um so I actually I met Susie about 6 months ago um and I was speaking to her about my my ambitions to become a race engineer and she is so she believes so deeply in getting women into engineering so she was just like we have this program we would love for you to come and do this you know anything I can do to help you with get where you want to get then please just let me know so this weekend I've been working mostly with Prema in F1 Academy um so we've done all sorts of things we went on the track walk with them um did driver debriefs looked at you know the data from after the practice and qualifying sessions um we've done some Media stuff as well stuff like this um and we've done you know career chats talking to people in the industry um who have careers from so many different sectors you know lawyers we've had engineers we've had media people we've had Logistics people so really getting an idea of what the different roles are in F1 and how how there can be a space for everyone coming here doing this I really do feel sure that I've made the right decision cuz I just love it I just love being at the track I love looking at the numbers and the data and the cars and I love working with the drivers hi my name is Elsa I'm from Barcelona and I'm 18 years old I've been interested in motorport for since I'm little kid because my family is involved in it um I want to take a path of an official I have I I'm a steward uh but I'm expecting to be maybe one day a race director uh I do a lot of rallies H we do the regulation of the penalties and that everything is on rule for the drivers and the co-drivers uh for me an idol in motorport it's definit siia syia ve because she represents a woman in Motorsport being a steward in um in a male domination industry I think especially being really young it can sometimes be difficult to find like a job or like a team that you feel really comfortable with but it's just like going through and having the experience and me people that can help you and knowing who you can trust and you and who you can I got involved with F1 Academy through um new Santa Maria because she's one of the uh girls who has a program here in Spain called dagas and they are doing a really hard job to get women and girls and little g girls in motorport and making them visible and and opening their paths what I've most enjoyed in this weekend is H getting to know really Deeply One of the teams in F1 Academy and um knowing how they work as a team and because they spend lots and lots of hours together also doing the the drag walk and definitely meeting syia ve my name is Berta I'm 19 years old and I'm from a city near Barcelona so this is my home race and I'm super excited about I'm studying chemistry in Barcelona also I would like to be involved in Motorsport since I was a kid I love F1 and all the things related about Motorsports I've been involved in in the F1 Academy this weekend by new Santa Maria as well because I know her from a years ago go and yes she's a great girl that gives us many opportunities like being here with F1 Academy this weekend it like it gave me more motivation to work here in a future and yeah I think that it's very enjoyable to be here and to be working in a future as I said uh my name Isa I'm from Barcelona well near from Barcelona I just finished high school I plan to study at um automative engineering so I hope I I go into that this weekend uh made me see that being an engineer as a woman is possible and now I really believe I can do it
