Hey, there is a big, big celebration for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints today as the prophet and president of the church. >> Celebrates his one 100th birthday. It's a major milestone and they held a big party to mark the occasion. >> NBC Four's Emily Clark has more from the birthday tribute. Emily, thank you both. He wasn't hail celebration inside the conference center theater on Temple Square. The broadcast center around the world. >> So the world could join the celebration. A president now sends one 100th birthday. >> He has justified his existence in this world. He did not just exist. >> A birthday celebration 100 years in the making to put President Nelson's 100 year life in some temporal context. We should note his 1924 birth was the year a little project called. Band Aid was introduced to the public. They apparently were aware the baby had entered the world. Who was destined for a Cingular medical career, one that might call for use those little strips from time to time. 100 years number hard to wrap your brain around. President Nelson has seen so much as he raised a family saved lives as a heart surgeon and lead a global church. >> Today people from around the world sharing messages of love. >> And we and people from different parts of President Nelson's life shared a look at their experiences with the profit beginning with his great granddaughter. Despite serving in a myriad of Collings, he has hardly ever missed a baby blessing that is in mission call opening or special family event. >> Our family has become very large, but he's always focused on us as individuals. His own daughter, the principles of love, kindness, and commitment to the Lord were the same.
