yeah one thing that keeps popping up recently for me is kids that are that are curious about how to get better at this game they are actively searching for answers to find to to uh get better at their deficiencies at our level that is like that is it right there [Music] there's a lot of players that have that Baseline talent and I think the separation is in those who are obsessed guys that uh just can't go a day without thinking about baseball practicing their Craft um they almost live with this fear of getting behind so to speak and they want to make sure they're doing everything they possibly can to be the best player they could possibly be because they love the game uh they're obsessed with it and they just really go about every single day working to be the best that they could possibly be baseball is a game of who can do it the longest in so many cases all right who can just bring in every single pitch every single day over and over and over again with machine likee consistency and I think it's something to reflect on for yourself hey was I as good in that seventh and eighth inning as I was in that second third inning with my intent to execute and only you know the answer to that why are there first rounders that never play a day in the big leagues and eighth rounders who go on and have Hall of Fame careers that eighth rounder has that fundamental endurance that is just incredible and that's something that I would challenge you with well I think it's a really fun era in the sense that I think um the cream Rises right now more than ever in this sport there was a time where um you you basically had to commit in your sophomore year high school and that's where you were going to graduate from and uh you know it was something where if if you weren't really physically mature at 15 or 16 years old you probably never were going to get that opportunity to play um at a big- time level of college baseball and I think now more than ever we're all more open to transfers whether that's a Junior College transfer a 44 transfer a graduate transfer um as as we compile our rosters if you're successful if you believe in yourself and you go be successful at some level of college baseball uh people are watching people are paying attention and uh when you do that you end up with opportunities if you so choose at the highest levels and um you know whether that's professional baseball or a program that's perennial knocking on the door of Omaha um you get that opportunity in today's day and age so go keep working at it don't get discouraged if you aren't getting opport opportunities as a um a guy who's starting his junior year of high school those opportunities can still come in this sport it just might be at a different time for you going to attack that ball 360 de you got to be able to cover all of those as an infielder okay go get that ball on its second hop this time all right and get that ball right at its lowest point on that second hop all right here we go great infielders pretty good job right there job right there J make sure yeah Joe yeah Joe good good good parents are doing out a lot of money for to take their kids to this event that event and there's something to be said about that you know something to be said about exposure to get recruited parents need to do a better job of saying no hey we want your kid to pitch in this or we want your kid to pitch in that and it's like he's getting tired like he's he pitched 50 Innings this spring he's up to you know 30 40 Innings this summer the more they know uh the more they understand about you know what keeps their kids healthy and what keeps their um you know what uh types of events are hey this is where Co college coaches are going to be at or college coaches can't even be at this event you know that it's a it's a quiet period it's a dead period like why is this event going on is it just to make money is it you know something like that um I think that's you know just kind of having a great understanding of the process and now that's not necessarily easy to just figure out like there's no you can't just do a Google Search and say understanding of the process who they're trusting and and who not to trust and and and this that and the other and like who has their best interest it's a really hard field to navigate guys like Aaron are exceptional soundboards for this type of stuff you know he has been through it yeah he knows all those events he can give up you know so much good advice that's a great resource and like I said I'll reiter it like it's impossible it's almost impossible to find like how do I uh you know maximize uh my son's experience without running him into the ground and how do I yeah how do we um make this really efficient like we want you to be great that's why we're here and I I'll commend you guys like there there's something that that Sam put out where I think coach Canam said like there's other guys that are out swimming and doing other things you guys chose to be here you guys want to be here for these four weeks you gave up to a certain degree you gave up your summer you can look at it as I gave it up or I gained something and I would look at it as I gained something this summer four more weeks of being able to play baseball to get ahead of your peers that are out swimming and doing other things uh league on me league on three 1 2 3 [Music]
