Kansas City Royals established in 1969 The Royals are the youngest team in the AL Central and have been very consistent with their uniforms they've had minimal changes with 2022 bringing a retool of their Road in blue jerseys but perhaps the biggest news is that Kansas City was able to Lobby hard enough to keep the old bigger font size for last names on the back of their jerseys frankly I would like to see the rest of the league do this admittedly it looks strange but the old font size and the batterman logo being in the new lower position never mind Kansas City converted back to the current letter size after spring training concluded God damn it also side note after 2 weeks into the season as of me recording this these jerseys everywhere look worse and worse as each day passes I'm amazed how much worse they look in action than the initial pictures and even seeing them in the store consistency my ass Nike and fanax can't even be consistent with the colors of the jerseys and pants their home white is a beautiful clean look that I hope the team keeps when they eventually move into their new ballpark whenever that happens it's simple straight and to the point paired with their familiar royal blue hat the only hat in their lineup besides City connect the road gray went back to having a block fwn instead of the matching cursive that it had from 2006 to 2021 but my biggest gripe is the lack of any outlining this is accurate to their 1971 to 1972 Road jerseys but I feel like some outlining would help the city name stick out more the same goes for the names and numbers too I've accepted the royal blue jersey saying Kansas City on the front as opposed to Royals at least the city name being in one color Works to begin with being white on a royal blue background that and I was never a fan of the royal blue jersey that sported just the logo I don't know it just didn't do it for me their powder blue jersey has been phenomenal ever since returning in 2008 in one form or another absolutely love how it turned out when paired with matching powder blue pants they did this for a few games last year and it seemed to be popular with both fans and the general baseball world and I hope this remains in their lineup their City connected debut in 2022 and not only uses navy blue a first for them with powder blue highlights but also references The Fountains found at Kaufman Stadium I appreciate them pairing this up with white pants since pairing it up with matching pants would at least in my eyes start to infringe on the Cub City connect also anybody else find it strange that the Royals got a city connect before their cross state rival to Cardinals just saying overall The Royals are a classic this concludes the AL Central come back tomorrow when we begin to look at the AL starting with the New York Yankees
