so one of the Players whose fit I absolutely love this year is Deontay Johnson's uh fit in the Carolina Panthers offense they severely struggled I talked about this on another episode that we recorded but they severely struggled with having wide receivers who were capable of getting open last year and deont is one of the best in football at getting open when you factor in that plus the upgrades to Dave Canalis running the offense you know actually being able to run a modern offense in the NFL um if you compare things like neutral situation pass rate between those two teams it's night and day difference whereas Tampa Bay was you know essentially League average in that aspect and Carolina ran or uh threw the ball far less than the analytics would suggest that they should so Deontay I think he's in a really great spot in this offense um and coming off the board at 87th overall wide receiver 37 it's it's a no-brainer pick for me um he fits the offense so so well he gives Bryce an option that he severely severely needs not that Adam thielen isn't great for that little stretch that we had last year but I mean the guy's never been an elite separator Bryce finally gets one I think it's Sky you know sky the limit for this offense if Deontay for Deontay in this offense if things click right y so with Deontay Johnson I mean anytime you can get a guy 130 150 targets kind of locked in there if he plays 17 games water receiver 37 it's a home run pick right I think when you're taking him there I mean if his touchdown percentage ends up being less than 4% you know below kind of That League average he he might not be somebody who hits your lineup every single week he'll always be in consideration but even if he's League average in touchdown Department he ends a season with five or six he's a guy who could comfortably be that Flex for your lineups every single week you're taking round eight n as Jake said feel it feel feels good feels good getting Deontay Johnson that late uh next guy
