our present father once again we thank you Lord this evening for another opportunities Lord that you have allowed us to come before you this evening father to give you honor and to give you praise father we thank you Lord because you are a good god father father tonight we ask you to let your Holy Spirit lead us and guide us into all truth father father we commit this time to you Lord Jesus as your word come forth tonight father let it be let it abide in our heart let it bide in our spirit father father those that are watching online father let them hear what you have to say God give their ears attention to your word father father they may hear it they may meditate on it day and night father father just help them to grow grow and to receive you and receive what thus said the word in the name of Jesus we pray amen amen praise the Lord let I say here this is we're just going to go straight right into our um intercession prayer time tonight because we are going to be praying for different things tonight we're going to be interceding for those that are having issues throughout the land and I I know I have like a lot of relatives I'm sure that you have friends sure that you online that whatever issue you have some of you may be sick there's people that might be depressed uh just just just don't know what to do a lot of anxiety going on because this is the last day we're living in and so many things are happening with the election so tonight just cheer up just look to God because only him only God can deliver us of only God can set us free only God can give us that peace that comfort that we need in him okay so no matter what going on we have to continue look un him and to put our faith in God and let him protect and be our provider amen so tonight we are going to be praying for several things I first want to like just pray this even for just take a minute for the sick people because I know I have relativ the ill uh that in Dallas Texas so we're going to pray uh this evening for those okay my brother brother-in-law he's he's in the hospital right now they say have flood on his lawn so so we're just going to pray for them right him for right now then if you have any issues or well we're going to pray for you always as as I pray for him I we also be praying for you tonight during our intercessor prayer so I'm standing in the gap for him and for you or whatever situation you're going through tonight we are going to let the holy SP Spirit direct us in this place tonight in the name of Jesus father I bring to you this this evening for my brother Lord Tony father I ask you to live with with lift him up father in the name of Jesus oh God give him God the Assurance Lord that you are with him oh god father I ask you tonight just touch his mind oh God let him know Lord that you are his God you are his provider God heal his body oh God Jesus give him the knowledge bring him into the knowledge of your word father because you said in your word by your stripes we are heal God God tonight I ask you Lord to Jesus just touch his body lift them up oh God give him a testimony God that never before Lord Lord you know the lifestyle Lord God but we know that you have all powers in your hand God and we know that you can do all things Lord father we are believ in him that we are believe in you tonight that you would raise him up you're going to lift him up God and and he's going to be a new man in you God we pray in Jesus name Lord but not only for him father but those that are throughout the land father those that in our church Lord Jesus just touch their bodies Lord Jesus because people are just ill father but we know that you can do all things let them put their trust in you father because if they put their trust in you father we know that you would do what you said because we know that your word will not return to your Void Lord Jesus so we believe it and we are standing on your promises tonight God so we ask you whatever sickness they have I bind it right now in the name of Jesus Lord that you would lift them up oh God and give them a testimony that they may run God they may not be weary God give them the strength oh God say I am healed by your stripes Lord and let them believe what said the word of God because we know your word will not return to your Void father just let them hear and heal your people throughout the land in the name of Jesus I pray amen amen praise the Lord hallelujah yes Jesus you know it's just so much going on and I have like I said uh things around me uh we dealing with so much anxiety there's things that I I just I was at my brother here I have a brother here in them City I mean here in California and I went by his house Sunday and you know he said oh J listen to this here he has this new car this this all kind of sound so it's really I I know I was there once more time but it took the Holy Spirit to to bring me out of it year I was little right had 55 sh year I was I was clean so this is what they are in but you know the same God see Hebrews 13:8 says what Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today forever that same Jesus Christ that lift me up that bought me out of it he can do the same thing for him and for the rest of my brother and for your family is online if there's things they going through our God is a God can do all things so I just wanted to pray with them this pray for him and the rest of my brothers and sisters tonight and also like I said for you that they would come into the knowledge of you father and what I'm doing is praying for the lost tonight father father I bring those to tonight Lord that are lost father father I bring those to you father that do not know you Lord Jesus father you are a god God of gods father you are the God above all God father God lord tonight I ask you father in the name of Jesus Lord that you would let your spirit father dwell in their heart Father Day by Day Lord that father that they would be touched and for some reason and hear your anointing oh God that they would say this is a chain a chain must come oh God God touch their hearts Lord in the name of Jesus oh God because you said in in Colossians 1:13 he said if we pray that you was deliv you the power delivers us from the power of Darkness father these people are walking in the power in the in the darkness Lord Jesus as I walk once in the power Darkness Lord but you delivered me oh God you transformed me you translated me into a new person into a new person father you took me out of darkness and you bought me into your marvous light father father I'm asking you tonight that you would do the same thing for them oh God bring them out of Darkness oh Lord let them be put into the Marv's light God that they may see you Lord that they may realize that someday that there will be a time time that I will have the answer unto you oh god father we know that because all things that things that seem right unto men Lord Jesus but in the ways and end father in is death God touch their heart give them the anointing oh God that they would not be lost in these last evil days give them a chance father to look unto you oh God and Father that you would bring them out oh God that you they would raise up and have a testimony as I have father that you have bought me out you can do the same thing for them Father I believe you and I receive these in Jesus name I pray amen praise the Lord hallelujah you know it it's just amazing you know that how the time we living here right now it just uh seems so difficulty I mean it's seem so difficult it's like people don't know what to do I mean we just sometime we on the edge it seem like there's so much anxiety I mean you can uh talk with people sometime it's a you know hey it's a good day what's good about it what's so good about it is you still here in the land of living I mean there's there's people well I'm okay you know it's not only that it's just that the whole world is changing like but we know what we know God is our maker you know I I I was telling my wife early this evening I said you know what no matter what goes on in the situation we still have to look unto God you know from which come I help I mean there like I said all these presidents which considered Kings but what I just said the heart of a king is in the hands of the Lord amen praise the lord well so I'm just want to take a minute here to uh pray for those they have mentally confusing I mean cuz sometime they don't just the minds is not just uh let me use this ter clicking right this is SL clicking like it should be and I just want to just take the time people let's let's get more serious right now this is more time even for me for we just really have to seriously look unto God we have to pray these last evil days I mean there's things that come upon us even myself I said Lord Jesus give me strength to do this the mind of the people it it just seem like it is changing so we Al we just going to go to the Lord with this situation tonight and we're going to bring this here before the Lord father tonight Lord once again in the name of Jesus Lord Jesus I ask you father that you would touch the minds of those that are mentally ill father father tonight I ask you to set them free Lord in the name of Jesus God you said in Philippians 2:51 says let this same mind be in you which is in Christ Jesus father we know that you are the god of Deliverance father we know that you can do all things God we ask you Lord in the name of Jesus that you just give them a new mind give them a new idea father that doubt father whatever in their hearts with their mind we ask that you would cast it out right now God give them a stable mind God give them a sound mind God that they may say oh Lord I know that my my days Lord are not what they should be I don't know what's going on with me but Lord we know that you have the power that you have the power to lift them up oh God God that they can grow in the knowledge of you Lord Jesus and become strong oh God and they can pray father as I pray unto you tonight Lord that they can say Lord God thank you for my healing thank you for my new mind God thank you for being a new creature you God thank you that I can understand your word now in the name of Jesus father I praise you tonight for that in the name of Jesus oh God let them grow in knowledge oh God let them grow in knowledge and strength oh God because we know Lord Jesus it is you that has made us and not we ourselves father we just thank you for that tonight God we ask you and we believe it and we receive it father that those things are going to come to pass in the name of Jesus because like I said here at Life artment Church we believe in prayer and we believe that if we pray and the word of God abide in us and and let you know and God in our hearts we can pray and and things will be done but we we have to you know prayer and Faith work together okay so whatever you need whatever the situation going through whatever it is just continue build your faith up I mean I I once some time had weak faith I said well I don't know if it's going to happen or not but you know I I had to just really cast out all this old doubt I had to really get a new mindset because I just felt that hey I'm praying was no result but you know cast that that doubt out right now in your mind because that's something the eny can easily put in put up on you okay so just continue to build your faith up in Christ I mean like I said if you're sick like I said I my brother I I want hope he I will give them um the website tonight I want them to go online and see that because uh God can do it okay so we just want the Holy Spirit to just make us new new creatures in Christ okay and so we are striving striving for that every single day right because like I said we also too find ourselves sometime we do those things but sometime we just not sharing that love that we need from one another because you know like I said love really makes a difference I was reading um First Corinthians this evening you know I almost I'm not going to try it I almost can quote that whole thing by by memory I mean just just know it okay so I'm I'm saying you know what we also here living here we you know we we pray for the sick we pray for those that in need we pray for those that financial situation we pray for those all over the world for different things also one thing that sometime here I find it we are liking sometime sometime we are just not uh demonstrating the love that we probably should to win others or to just be with other so we we here at life and pment church we are having what you call the love of third power okay and we are really believing that love changes just like anything else prayer Love Changes thing so also tonight I I know I have um friends that just sometimes um uh my brother was tell me something about Sunday about one Gentleman Just just didn't have the loving heart he did a few things and and now he got to pay the price got to pay the price so we just going to ask God to come in his heart and we're going to ask God also there's people that you have friends that you have or relative you or here in this church or wherever you may be that might just not have that love that go that are Brad in our hearts and so we going to ask God tonight to just give that love because we know that Jesus Christ he died for all of us he loved us so much you know I I was reading something uh last week it says um you know no what it says no power it said death and and uh let me get it right because I want to say this if it says um the love that God have it says nothing nothing listen to them carefully nothing can separate us from the love of God I I said you know I read it when it was telling us that things that just can't not separate us from the love of God to me I said that's got to be a lot of love I mean whatever we do you know it come to us it says nothing nothing shall separate us from the love of God so we need that same love for one another okay love one another so I'm just going to ask you all tonight we're going to pray for that I mean people in the household with others sometime can't live together uh there some sometimes people in the churches just doesn't uh react one another you know I was at my daughter's Church a few weeks ago and I did love same our church we love when we people we love people and we show their demonstration of love of God in our hearts so but there are issues sometime it's hard to do so with some people because people still haven't came into the knowledge of the Holy Spirit okay so they don't know so that's why we here at life in palman church that's why we are here to demonstrate that to people like I said you come out and meet our pastor Pastor Mark Bishop ter Ruffins on Sundays and and our members and you will see the love that we share one from another so we're just going to go to God this evening in prayer for those that may be having a few issue with this right now father once again Lord I ask you in the name of Jesus oh God that you would just touch those people Hearts God that just don't have that love father give them that love that they need father that they may be able to love one another oh god father let that love share abroad in their heart oh God Jesus father I ask you to remove remove all those barriers father that are hinding them from walking in love God Jesus father you said in your word 1 John 411 God so loved us that he gave his only guidance he he he so loved us that we should also love one another so if God love us then surely enough we should love one another it says love our enemies and do good I know that's hard but God we ask you oh God to give them that that bold and that strength oh God in spite of everything that's going wrong God plant the seed in their hearts oh God Jesus let that love grow God let it continue to walking let us continue to walk in love father because you know this is the will of God like you said father this is your will to love one another love love our sisters love our brothers and we just ask you tonight God that we believe in Lord Jesus that they will continue to do so Lord because it it is your word it is a Commandment that he said the greatest things is in love I mean you know all the things that we do I I used to father I saw that before I read that many times Lord you said Jerry the greatest thing is love that's oh my God so that means I you got to love one another praise the Lord in in spite of what's they what they said to you or what's going on so show that love that Jesus Christ had for you that he that you show for them can you sayen so we we just appreciate that and we just thank God for him that have really uh opened up our hearts and just continue to let our hearts grow in love for one another because truly enough I I I I just's keep this real serious because one time I said to a person I said you know what you can't go to heaven unless you love me so you you have to you got to come through me because the Bible said to love me okay you got to love me so I have to love you so this is what we are going to do in the spirit of God let the Holy Spirit rule our hearts and then shed abroad that we may continue to love one another seek after those which are lost seek after love for one another praise the Lord you know I'm so excited this evening here to stand before you this evening I was um sitting there I said well you know I have to I want to just say things that God has allowed on my heart and I think the bishop will give me a chance to just express how I feel so I'm grateful for that so just continue to just pray for one another here at life in pman church and let's not give the Enemy No Room uh to come in and to bring division Among Us and whatever case may be love or continue to pray for those that are sick uh sometime they said pray for those that sick we pray and we let it go sometime we do we don't so now this tonight as say this night we are going to put our trust in the Holy Spirit and we are going to believe the word of God and we are going to act on what the word of God says to us tonight praise the Lord also there's a few other things I want to pray with you about this evening uh one thing here that's been really kind of a issue here is like uh relationship many relationship I have um before I do that I have a friend that my cousin called me today this evening and she said jury uh Ruth this is this is a country name Ruth haer she said my last sister had passed away this evening and I said oh my God I I feel so bad because this this child she's um 7 years old and she is the last of the whole family and I think like six or seven of them mom and dad gone sister brother gone and she the only one since this left and so I was with her on her phone I I text her back I said you know what this is the time that you are going to have to really really be strong because God even uh her husband left here this about 3 years ago and now it was only her she and her husband and so now he he's gone so she by herself so I just want you all to join in with me in prayer for this evening her name is Leandra Williams okay Leandra Williams and Leandra had lost her last sister her last sister and she's the only one left and she is really going through a lot of changes right now so what I want to do right now I want to just lift L Sandra up before the Lord because I said look here just keep it Faith okay let us pray for this for her tonight father once again Lord I I bring to you L Sandra father God father I ask you in the in the name of Jesus Lord that you would look unto father that you would just touch her mind touch her body God give her the strength oh God to endure this this situation Lord God because you said in your word absent from the body is present from the L present with the Lord but God we want her to realize that God give her the strength and say well okay Lord I know it's your will let your will be done God In The Name of Jesus God let her oh God be strong oh God let her look unto you you God from come a help God because help come from the from you let us be able to look into the heel say my help all my help come from God who made Heaven and Earth Lord strengthen her oh God let her not be weak oh God let her look in and say oh God let your will be done in my life let your will be done God let I not be depressed oh God although that you know we lose L one father but come touch the hearts oh God touch the heart ease a pain God and Lord we know that you can let her realize God that it is you that in control father that all things that you have all power in your hands it is you that that that just reain and do what the what you have to do so we ask you to let give her strength to believe that and to receive that father in the name of Jesus I pray amen amen you know that was one thing really my heart kind of Havey because when she uh text me Jerry uh my last sister gone I oh my God it's like uh was really shocking but we know that God uh all power is in hand and he know what's best for us us because we know that uh it is he that has made us and we know there is a departing day okay and I I can can remember what Paul said in days he says I fought a good fight okay so he know that his time was was was coming short so let us be prepared and be ready for that great day whenever it comes okay praise the Lord so continue to keep L will and your prayers in amen I pray and you know also it's just so many things that um like I said different ones I I see a lot of people I I have I know people I'm just going to shareck briefly in uh Oklahoma Texas uh South Carolina I know people that's in new uh Georgia people that all over the place in Cleveland so these these people that I I know here is I I do talk to the people in like Oklahoma I just say you know some sometime we have conversations and uh it's really get to the point sometime where it's amazing that to hear some of the stories some of the things that going on so I mean the relationships people that's being broken um you know people getting on each other nerves but we know I I I want to just pray for that for evening as well because it does I mean you know it it takes a lot and let me just share this I'm not being funny I'm my heart I've been married almost 45 years and it's some sometimes challenging with my wife I mean I have to look into the heal oh God give for which come my help okay so we know that this you have to be strong and believe that God because he that he gave each other h love your wife wife love your husband so this is what we have to do with the men with the broken relationship I know sometime the hurt is bad but let's let's just quickly here I know time run out on us here but just quickly here let us just go ahead and remember these these people that going through the uh relationship that having difficult times and this type of thing but let's just uh pray for those just for a minute here that are facing those issues father during this time recessive prayer intercessory prayer Lord I bring once again father to you those that are having challenges father I ask you that those that having need men relationship father I ask that you will repair the relationship father father make it new with them again father remove that hurt and anger oh God Jesus father in Ephesians 4:31 you tell us that let all buildings go and anger God put away those things father let us be kind to each other oh god father I ask you that you restore back what was lost oh God bring that relationship back God and make it once again compatible Lord to each other father that they would love one another father that they would just have that same love that they had for the day from the time of beginning oh god father in the name of Jesus I ask you right now father that you put the relationship back father and let it be complete father and become completely reformed father in the name of Jesus I pray amen amen hallelujah praise the Lord you know God is a good god amen he can do all things but if you have to trust him I mean I I can everything I pray for I have been through every experience every situation I'm 75 and I have been through all those situations and God has kept me here I'm here still standing tonight I'm not boasting but I'm giving him the credit I'm giving him the joy uh that I have in my heart how he had kept me and all the things I went through he can do the same thing for you as he has done for me but you have to let that word abide in you that's in Christ amen praise the Lord and one of the final thing I know I just wanted to share this with you time really going out on here real quick here because but it's this I'm just going to be on the upcoming election I mean people are just seem like they just don't know what to do people are like oh this all that all this going on through kind of changes right and so but you know no matter what goes on we still have to let God uh we still put our choice in God because it's he that we are going to have to look unto him no matter what you know we can't protect sure enough but it's God still have to be our guide still God have to be our protector no matter what happens who who is presid in whatever the case may be we still must have to put our trust in in the Lord so I just want to uh pray here briefly before we go here I want to pray on this election you know even I think was like last week like I said I call the people from different places different states I said you know what we going to pray at 12:00 California time that we are going to pray and ask God to have his way in in in in in the land God let your will be done on Earth is what I'm praying for right cuz whatever happen you are the king of King and the Lord of lords so we are putting our trust in you and believe in you that you are going to let it be done on Earth as it is in heaven so I just want to bring this election I know I know I'm going to pray for it I'm going to pray for we should God we pray to God for all things amen so I just want to pray for this election that's God to just undertak this election and just let it be how he wants to go amen praise the Lord let's just go to the garden and pray this father once again father I pray this situation to you God father I uphold and pray prayer before you father the I bring the men and women that who are in position of authority father I pray father that you I intercede for those God that whatever position they be in or whoever they are father I ask you in the name of Jesus Lord right now father that we would you other God of god require that you would whoever is give them give them knowledge oh god father give them understanding Lord give them wisdom oh god father I ask you to keep the even from their ways oh god father that they would pray and be upright people God that you have called them to be over these position Lord God father because you know that you said in your word for the heart of the king is in the hands of the Lord no matter what goes on the heart of the king is in the hands of the Lord you are still in control oh god father I ask you right now to let your word God in their hearts father that they might hear and do Mighty things for you Lord Jesus and let their lives change god father and let the people that around them that God that whatever sit they doubt father I ask you right now that just deliver them and take away all the doubts father we know we asking you in the name of Jesus father that you are the Lord Lord that you are going to protect us no matter what father so I ask you to put your hands out right now in this election father stretch your hand forth and let your will be done in the earth can you say Amen to that praise the Lord you believe that prayer please say Amen Let amen let's have it let your will be done in here well praise the Lord I I'm Jerry John I thank you for your time um you know my time is up I thank you for yours online CU this is time we have the man of God coming this evening and he is on fire as usual ready to bless our hearts and and just set us free and just do great things and say good thing and I I tell past I told him Sunday why I say Pastor Mark I said Sunday I said I'm my day is coming Pastor Mar I mean it's not here yet Pastor Mar he's there you keep praying keep that it will come praise the Lord amen so again once again I'm not gonna prolong the Jerry lead us in prayer tonight it is good lesson for you to be a part of what God has done tonight in our time of corporate prayer that we understand that it is because of the word of God that is because of what God says about prayer listen that we are able to have exactly what he says that we can have that we can do exactly what he says that we can do and we are able listen to receive exactly what he says that we can receive and so we are just so grateful and thankful for the opportunities we have to be able to come together corporately and to pray and to come and to believe and to stand and receive all that heaven has for us in prayer well not only do we stand for that but listen we stand for listen this series that we've been in that we've been in this series talking about wisdom for living and tonight is going to be the last part of this particular series that we have been embarking upon I pray that it has been a blessing to you if you have missed any parts of this series you can go back to our YouTube channel and you can watch all of the ones about wisdom for living and if you can turn with me in your Bibles tonight to Proverbs Chapter 1 uh Proverbs chapter one has been one of our foundation text for this particular series and here in uh Proverbs Chapter 1 looking here at verse one and I'm reading from the New Living Translation looking here tonight at Proverbs 1 chapter 1 uh verse one here in the New Living Translation uh here it says in Proverbs chap 1 verse one it says these are the Proverbs of Solomon David's son king of Israel their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline to help them understand the insights of the wise their purpose is to teach people to live discipline and successful lives that helped them do what is right just and fair that here he is laying out to us here's why Proverbs was written that if you were ever wondering if you were ever questioning he says here is why God gave Solomon the wisdom that he gave and shared this wisdom with us through this Book of Proverbs and he said it is to teach people wisdom discipline understanding and insights uh he says so that we can do what is right just and fair in this series we have talked about there are five different types of people that proverb speaks to I'm not going to go over that but I just want you to know that was part of what we highlighted there in uh part one uh but here in Parts two and three and and four tonight that we've been looking at these five wisdom Expressions that we've been looking at how is it that we can detect wisdom and here in Proverbs chap 4: 7 and I'm just going to kind of go through these because I just want you to know where they are located that he says in Proverbs 4:7 that wisdom is the principal thing therefore get wisdom and all you're getting get understanding uh then he goes on to say in Proverbs 8 verse 12 in the new King James version he says I wisdom dwell with prudence and find out knowledge and discretion so he tells us that basically that wisdom is expressed in five different ways that he tells us first in Proverbs 4:7 that the principle thing is to get wisdom that when you talk about acquiring wisdom part of that expression is learning the principle what is is the principle concerning different matters certain situations different particular areas what's the principle because if I can find out the principle listen I can find out listen a truth that is always true that when we found out listen the law of gravity that the law of gravity is always true whether you're in the US whether you're in Africa whether you're in Australia the law of gravity is always true that wisdom principles listen is where we find out governing truths that listen that oversee different areas of life then listen we see here in Proverbs 8:12 that he talks about how wisdom finds knowledge that if you and I are going to operate in wisdom that there has to be information that we've acquired listen that helps us to understand that wisdom then he says in Proverbs 4:7 also so and all byy getting get understanding that we need to be able to have some comprehensive uh understanding to this wisdom that it's not just something that seems like it is so deep and it is so provoking but then you can't explain it that that listen is not complete wisdom then listen we learned uh last week about prudence and discretion that he says there in Proverbs 8:12 that I wisdom well with prudence and fine discretion that we begin to understand that there is a listen distinctive difference between what we call Common Sense and what the Bible call Common Sense and we began to understand biblical Common Sense on last week and so tonight listen I want to talk to you about this fifth expression of wisdom and here when you look in Proverbs Chapter 1 as we were just reading when you look here in Proverbs chapter one and we're looking here at verse two he says that the purpose is to teach people wisdom notice now and discipline to help them understand insights of the wise then he says again in verse three their purpose talking about here Proverbs is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives to help them do what is right just and fair here we see in this fifth expression of wisdom that it has to do with discipline somebody say discipline that listen that wisdom I want to know when we talk about uh discipline that wisdom is Express in practicality if wisdom isn't practical wisdom isn't livable that's right let me say that again if wisdom isn't practical wisdom isn't livable here when he's talking about discipline he's talking about how wisdom is expressed in Wise behaviors that when the Bible talks about discipline that it refers to discipline as moral training instruction warning correction rebuke reprove that it talks about how this type of discipline leads to spiritual growth character development and spiritual maturity that here tonight that as much as this word discipline has many different ways that it is expressed even in Proverbs that here I want to focus on these on this initial part where it says discipline is referred to as moral training or instruction that here when he's talking about you and I having discipline he's talking about you and I having wise behaviors see it does us no good if we have the first type of wisdom which is the principle if we get the principle and then we talk about the second expression of wisdom being knowledged that listen if we get the principle and we acquire the information and then we looked at the third one it which is understanding that if we get the principle acquire the information and we have good comprehension but we fail to have the discipline in our lives that we fail to have wise behaviors listen I want you to know that we still do not have complete wisdom uh it's almost like the medical doctor that you see smoking that she or she listen is wise enough to have a choir listen the heal principles but they're foolish enough to ignore the discipline that here uh it does us no good listen to only have the principle the knowledge the understanding to have say uh prudence and discretion but we don't have the discipline uh that when you look here in Proverbs chapter 4 let's go back here to Proverbs chapter 4 uh and I want to look here at verse seven again that we read this in the beginning but I want us to go back to this again that when we go here to Proverbs chapter 4 looking here at verse seven uh I'm reading from the new King James Version uh Proverbs chap 4 verse 7 looking here at the new King James version that he says this he says wisdom is the principle thing therefore get wisdom and all you're getting get understanding that here when we read this in the Amplified Bible that it says the beginning of wisdom is get wisdom but when it talks about getting wisdom that word get there can also be referred to as skilled that he is telling us notice now that it is not just important for us just to have knowledge and comprehension but he says that he wants you to acquire skillful wisdom that it is not just the acquiring of understanding but it is the ability notice now to put what you have in practice that when the Bible talks about skill that he's talking about excellence in quality or expertise in the practice of applying this wisdom that whether it is the applying of wisdom to one's craft to one's occupation to one's art or actually listen applying it for living life that he is saying that listen that it is important that we become so skillful because notice now we are practicing this so that we can become proficient let me say that again we are practicing this so that we can become proficient that I'm telling you that when he's talking about us having discipline in our lives that he is saying listen I want you to have the kind of wisdom that allows you to be skillful listen in your living that's right listen God wants you and I to have daytoday practicality that translates into skillful living so that listen our wisdom is demonstrated in daytoday activity uh turn with me here in your Bibles to Proverbs Chapter 12 uh Proverbs Chapter 12 you know sometimes when we think about having wisdom sometimes we think about having wisdom when we run into something that is beyond our capability that we feel like sometimes that is much as I have a certain amount of knowledge information practical ability and so forth that I'm good but God is saying listen I want you to understand that sometimes even notice now because when the Bible talks about who Proverbs is written to one of the groups that we find that it says that it is written to those that are wise he is saying that listen there's a certain amount of wisdom that you required but it is not always at its maximum so that you can be as proficient in what it is that you're trying to accomplish and so therefore sometimes we don't think that we need the wisdom because we feel like we have already become as proficient and I'm telling you there's always a higher amount of proficiency that we can acquire notice what he says here in Proverbs Chapter 12 let's look here at verse one Proverbs 12 looking here at verse one in the New Living Translation is where I'm reading it from uh Proverbs 12 now listen It's always important for you to bring your Bibles to church it's always important listen that we bring listen our uh uh our textbook to church because this is a holy ghost classroom uh and here in Proverbs 12 verse1 it reads this way it says to learn notice now you must love discipline listen you need to highlight like that listen you need to highlight that uh probably in two or three colors it says to learn you must love discipline he says it is stupid to hate correction now here where he's saying that it is notice now part one of this he says to learn to acquire knowledge now remember you can have knowledge without having wisdom but you can't have wisdom without having knowledge and he says notice now that if if you want to learn if you want to acquire knowledge or or or wisdom knowledge he says that you must learn discipline that here what he's saying is that listen you must learn you must love more training you must love instruction and you must love practicing it he says that if you're going to have the kind of discipline or wise behaviors he says that you must learn you must love moral training instruction and practice but notice what part B says it says uh matter of fact let me read this in the Amplified Bible Proverbs 12 vers1 in the amp Amplified Bible says whoever loves instruction and discipline loves knowledge but he who hates reproof and correction is stupid he says notice now that it is important for us to acquire the kind of skill the kind of proficiency he says that you must love discipline but here's what I would tell you that when notice now he says here that he who hates reproof and correction is stupid here's what I would tell you that if you don't love if you don't learn to love discipline if you don't learn to be proactive listen with discipline with moral training in instruction and practice that I will tell you on the other side of a lack thereof that you will have to learn discipline through correction through rebuke and through reprove because remember God's goal is to get wisdom to you and if you don't learn it listen on the proactive side listen you will learn it on the other side and this is why he says listen now you you must love discipline he says if you want to have wise behaviors this is something that you have to come to love I want you to see something here as we are talking about listen having wise behaviors tonight here in part four wisdom for uh for living uh turn with me here in your Bibles to James chapter 1 turn with me in your Bibles to James chapter 1 and we're going to look here starting at verse one and I'm reading this from the new King James version we're looking here in James chapter 1 looking here uh at verse one in the New Living Translation I want you to see that listen that when he's talking about this discipline or these wise behaviors that he is saying that listen that wisdom that is practical is wisdom listen that is livable and God wants this to to be something that we can Implement in our daytoday life here in James chapter 1 James chapter one looking here at verse one uh in the New Living Translation notice what he says he says this is this letter is from James A Slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ I am writing to the 12 tribes Jewish Believers scattered abroad greetings verse two he says dear brothers and sisters when Troubles of any kind come your way consider it an opportunity for great joy for you know that when your faith is tested your endurance has a chance to grow so let it grow for when endurance is fully developed you will be perfect or mature and complete needing nothing notice what he says here in verse five he says if you need Wisdom ask our generous God and he will give it to you he will not rebuke you for asking now I want you to understand verse five in context of what James is writing here James is pastoring at this time and James is saying listen I understand what it means to live this Christian Life listen when things are calm when things are going well listen when things are going good listen it is easy uh for the most of us to live this Christian life but it becomes much more diff diffult it becomes a much more difficult Prospect when different things start happening in life when storms start occurring we start running into situation and obstacles and all kinds of challenges and it seems as if listen sometimes we're being hit from the left the right the front the back sometimes it feels like we're being blindsided by the different things that are coming and in moments like this listen it is easy to get off course and James even talks about how or think it's in Corinthians where it talks about how even moments like this we can come to a place to where we shipwreck in our faith and here when James is writing this he's writing this because the Believers were facing various difficult trials notice what he says here in verse one of this text he says this letter is from James A Slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ I'm writing to the 12 tribes the Jewish Believers uh scatter abroad uh here when we read this what was happening is that the Believers had been uh dispersed abroad because there was so much persecution that was happening and in this persecution that was happening because they had fled these areas where the persecution was was taking place what had happened was that they had suffered loss and this loss that they had suffered listen was loss that they had suffered in their home uh this was loss that they had suffered in their possessions and therefore listen they were trying to escape this persecution and even in places that they fled in order to try to find some relief they still didn't find relief and so they're under various trials and they're having all different types of challenges in this moment and therefore uh James is saying to them listen that if you're going to learn how to navigate through these trials if you're going to listen be able to joyfully endure what is happening James is saying to them that listen I want to show you what is needed but he says this in verse three of that passage he says be assured that the testing of your faith uh matter of fact in in matter of fact if you read this I'm reading this now in the Amplified Bible uh James 1:3 I'm reading it from the Amplified Bible that he says this he says be assured that the testing of your faith he's saying through experience notice now through practical daytoday type activity he says produces endurance leading to spiritual maturity and inner peace verse four and let endurance have its perfect result and and do a thorough work so that you might be perfect completely developed in your faith lack nothing so he's telling him listen that faith is a part of this type of development uh uh that you're going to experience a certain amount of growth and development because this is going to test you but he doesn't leave them there notice what he says in verse five he says if any of you lack wisdom now notice what it says in the Amplified Bible to guide him through a decision or circumstance remember now they have fled their homes they have lost possessions they're sometimes living in places that are outside of what they knew uh uh in terms of how those places worked and how things operated Within These foreign areas and he's saying that listen you're facing all types of Trials you're going through all types of transitions you're you're finding yourself having to adapt to all types of situations and he says listen you need wisdom not for all the big stuff but you need wisdom in making a decision you need wisdom listen to know how to navigate through the circumstances that you are experiencing he is saying listen you need to have the kind of wisdom that allows you to become skillful to have the kind of wise behaviors he's telling them notice now that if you're going to succeed if you're going to Prevail if you're going to come out with the advantage that it is going to require you to have notice now wise behaviors see this kind of wisdom is in relationship to competence adeptness uh it is it's living in such a way listen that you're producing the kind of fruits that shows listen that you're winning that this listen this kind of wisdom carries with it the ability to judge present circumstances with a view of future success that God was saying listen that when we talk about wisdom that it is the ability notice now to be able to have this kind of knowledge this kind of information on how to conduct yourself in situations where you need to make decisions where you're not familiar with the things that you're going through so that listen you can win this listen kind of wisdom comes with time sometimes this kind of wisdom comes with a great deal of time because sometimes the reality is is that we're slow to learn God isn't slow to give us the information we're slow to acquire it because sometimes listen we're like one of those five groups of people that we talked about in in part one and therefore God is saying listen now if you're going to become skillful if you're going to become proficient if you're going to know how to navigate in circumstances and make right decisions you need to acquire this kind of discipline that leads to why behaviors so that notice now in time you become more proficient you may not be all that skillful in the beginning but don't give up keep practicing so that you can become wise here he's telling us that this is possible this is probable because we can pursue this kind of wisdom I I I want to show you example of this if you turn with me here in your Bibles uh to 1 Samuel chapter 18 turn with me here in your Bibles to 1 Samuel chapter 18 uh and we're going to look here starting at verse one I'm going to read this from the new King James version we're talking tonight about wisdom for living and we're here in part four are talking about this skillful wisdom that that God tells us to go after uh so that we can have wise behaviors uh here in 1 Samuel chapter 18 looking here at verse one uh reading from the new King James version uh 1 Samuel chapter 18 looking here at verse one is where uh I'm beginning uh In this passage so notice now now uh 1st Samuel 18:1 and it says now when he had finished speaking to Saul the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David and Jonathan loved him as his own soul Saul took him Saul took him that day and would not let him go home to his father's house anymore verse three then Jonathan and David made a covenant because he loved him as his own soul verse four and Jonathan took off the robe that was on him and gave it to David and his with his armor even to his sword uh and his bow and his belt verse five so David went out wherever Saul sent him notice now and behaved wisely and Saul set him over the men of Ward and he was accepted in the sight of all the people also in the sight of Saul's servants notice now Let's uh drop down here to verse 10 uh it says here in verse 10 1st Samuel chapter 18:10 it says and it happened on the next day that the distressing spirit from God Came Upon Saul and he prophesied in the house so David played music with his hands as as as at other times but there was a spear in Saul's hand and Saul cast the spear for he said I will pin David to the wall but David escaped his presence twice now isn't it amazing how we read here in verse five that it says that so David went out wherever Saul sent him and it says and Saul had sent him and set him over the men of War he was accepted in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul's servant so here we see that that Saul listen we understand is the king he's in control that listen Saul has the throne Saul has the army listen Saul has the spears but yet we see that he is afraid of David and notice now it says in verse 11 it says and Saul cast the spear for he said I will pin David to the wall notice now but David escaped his PR presence twice how is this happening when Saul knows that David is there he knows where David is going yet the Bible says that David escaped his presence twice notice now what it says here in verse 12 it says now Saul was afraid of David because the Lord was with him but he had departed from Saul uh it says therefore Saul removed from him his presence and made him a captain over a thousand and he went out and came in before the people notice now verse 14 and David behaved wisely in all his ways and the Lord was with him therefore when Saul saw that he behaved very wisely he was afraid of him now notice now here is a guy Saul that's the king here's a guy notice now that he's afraid of David listen there's some jealousy because we understand that at some point uh they sang the song that David that Saul kills his thousands and David had killed his tens of thousands and so we understand that there's some jealousy but notice now under this kind of circumstance notice now how David listen has been given this promotion he's over the men he's made the captain of the Army but yet Saul is not setting him up with promotion Saul is setting him up so that he might fail and yet notice now David behaved wisely notice what it goes on to say uh it says in verse 14 and David behaved wisely in all his ways then it says in verse 15 therefore when Saul saw that he behaved very wisely he was afraid of him I need for you to understand that this sort of Behaving wisely is not just something that I'm evaluating myself I can just say this was noticeable this was uh something that could be measured this was something that even Saul in his backslid and state could recognize that David listen is operating in a wisdom listen that is not common that when here it says that he behaved r wisely or he behaved wisely that when you translate that that it is saying that David was operating in uncommon Behavior David is in uncommon circumstances uh and so the guy that is promoting you the guy uh that is constantly giving you these uh uh places to be able to operate in and higher authority is also the same guy that is out trying to kill you he says that David behaved very wisely notice now it says in in in in 1st Samuel chapter 18 uh notice now verse 13 it says therefore Saul removed him from his presence and made him Captain over a thousand that as much as this looks like is a promotion it is manipulative that he is really working a secret agenda here against David that he's giving him this pretense that he's honoring David when in effect what he's really trying to do is get rid of David uh it is just like when we read about how when David notice now when he was King and he slept with basba that he put his uh bash's husband in front of the war why because he was intentionally trying to get him killed he's trying to get David killed in this situation but notice now de David is behaving very wisely he is demonstrating the kind of skillful wisdom that allows him listen to make right decisions he is navigating himself through circumstances so that listen he's able to avoid the tactics that Saul is putting for to be able to set him up for failure yet David is finding success in this situation I want you to know that there is some practical wisdom that God wants to give you so that you're skillful listen even when people are setting you up for failure notice now 1st Samuel 18 let's look here at verse 14 uh I'm still reading from the new King James uh version and it says and David behaved wisely in all his ways and the Lord was with him therefore when Saul saw that he behaved wi very wisely he was afraid of him now listen it it says that he was having some Spears thrown at him now I've heard of people listen being raising homes where listen people threw shoes at them uh people threw cups at them I don't know anybody says that somebody was throwing knives at me here somebody's throwing knives at him yet he's behaving very wisely that even when notice now Saul has the power listen to do all kinds of things that he's trying to set him up for failure yet even in the midst of these terrible circumstances David is conducting himself in such a way that shows that I can still rule I can still operate in my position and navigate these circumstances these landmines these opportunities ities that you're setting me up listen that I might fail and God is showing me listen how to behave so that I can win notice now what it says in verse 28 it says then Saul saw and knew that the Lord was with David and that Michael Saul's daughter loved him and Saul was still more afraid of David So Saul became David's enemy continually then the princes of the Philistines went out to war and so it was that whenever they went out that David notice now behave more wisely than all the Servants of Saul so that his name became highly esteemed can you listen Advance can you listen succeed when everything seems to be working against you when it doesn't seem like listen you're getting the kind of help you're getting the kind of cooperation you're getting the kind of support that says hey these people are trying to help me win that David is only listen in a situation where the guy that controls everything that David is trying to do is working against David but yet David continues to behave wisely and here when it says and he and his name became highly esteemed when you translate that they said that David acquired an unusual respect I'm telling you tonight that listen David is a poster picture of how listen no matter where you may be listen whether you're facing things that are on the job whether you're facing things in the family whether you're facing things listen just in your own personal life and you're trying to figure out how to navigate I'm telling you that God wants to give you the kind of wise behaviors that shows you how to conduct yourself so that listen you can win David listen was able to have uncommon Behavior to have unusual respect because David acquired skillful wisdom wise behaviors that caused him listen to invade every trick that Saul had set up that caused him to F I'm telling you that there's nothing that the enemy or any person listen has CS set a trap set you up listen to somehow get you listen in a bind that God doesn't want to give you the wisdom the skillful wisdom on how to navigate your way through those particular landmines that have been set up by people by groups sometimes by the company by the enemy God says that listen I can show you how to navigate this but I need for you to ask me to give you skillful wisdom the kind of behaviors that shows you and others that this guy has some uncommon access some uncommon information some uncommon knowledge some uncommon understanding that allows him that allows her to navigate everything that we seem to be doing that would cause failure listen that can be in a classroom listen that can be with a professor that can be with some kind of institution God says it doesn't matter where they may be or where you may be I want to give you skillful wisdom that shows you you how to navigate father we just thank you tonight father we just give you praise and father we give you glory that you want us to have wise behaviors that when we see David that we don't see just a prototype we see a possibility we see a probability that we began to see that there are things listen that we can increase and how we can conduct ourselves that it is not always in what we say but there can be times that it is located in what we do that there are times listen that God would say don't say a word let me just show you how to operate uh that that listen that he'll tell you listen this is a time that you need to just smile and you're trying to figure out why why would I Smile In A Moment Like This why because it is wise it is wise Behavior God to give you Insight on how to move and how to operate simply because sometimes it is in your behaviors that your Victory is found that there are times in which God wants to fight for you while you're silent God wants to make things happen while it looks like you're not seen and God says listen I want to show you how to be wise in your behavior how to be wise in your behaviors sometimes God wants to show you listen how to have a good attitude in a bad [Music] environment because it's going to be in your behavior that your Victory is found so tonight I I'm praying listen that you would be wise and how you conduct yourself that it may not be listen that you got to go in and and and raise your voice sometime sometimes listen you got to go in and maybe present a gift and then give your complaint that it is knowing how to be wise that I heard this guy that he says that he earned listen how to become h a speaker for the school district because he just kept delivering Donuts to the office of different schools and just saying hey here's my name I just wanted to bless you all today and he would just bring donuts to one day they started asking him who was he and why was he doing this and it gave him an opportunity listen to go in and to get an opportunity to speak simply because the only thing he did was deliver a packet of donuts every week there are wise behaviors to your success and God wants to give you insight God wants to give you the wisdom on knowing how to conduct yourself father we just pray tonight father for wise behaviors that we would know father how to conduct ourselves how to navigate how to make better decisions because of the wisdom the skillful wisdom of how to conduct ourselves in unfamiliar situations and New Opportunities and areas where you want us to advance and you're saying I just sometimes need for you just to show up be in the room be present and not say a word that there are wise behaviors that you will use so that we can win we can be a success and father I thank you for it and father I bless your name for it and we say this in Jesus name amen now I'm telling you tonight that listen God wants you to have all expressions of this wisdom now does that mean listen that you would be like Solomon and operate with such expertise at all of them no that's that's not what I'm saying but I'm saying the wisdom that you need at the time that you need it that you would be proficient that listen that if you need to have great wise behaviors that you'll have that in the moment that you need it now you may not always be wise in your behaviors but the moments listen that are critical that you have wise behaviors that listen that you would love discipline that you'll love to practice the kind of things listen that you learn this is what I've got to change my nature so that I can conduct myself in this manner and more consistent ways that I'm telling you that some of this skill listen isn't something that's a download it's something that comes because I practice it I practice it let us become proficient because we practice we train in skillful wisdom now you might be here tonight and you might be one of those ones that you might say man there are some areas where it just seems like instead of me being skillful I'm clumsy in instead of me being proficient it seems as if I'm more deficient that it seems as if often the mistakes that are making are more than the corrections and the improvements now I'm telling you that can be because listen you don't have Christ in your life that Christ listen is listen the one that is the dispenser of all wisdom that it is not just us doing this sort of thing and us acquiring it because we practi prce but listen there is a certain amount of where I am doing my part and there is a God part listen that causes my natural to become super it causes listen my proficiency listen to become special and that happens because I have a relationship with Christ and so tonight listen if you're one of those ones that says listen I need a relationship ship with Christ maybe I'm in a backsliding condition I'm saying tonight tonight let's come back home let's let's let's be like the prodical son and let's come back home maybe your prodical daughter let's come back home because God has all types of wisdom ready for you but he needs a vessel that's submitted a vessel that is a free access to All That Heaven has to offer if you're saying that me tonight that I need to give my life I need to rededicate my life then here's what I'm saying to you repeat this prayer after me this is based upon Romans chap 10: 9-10 repeat this prayer to me say Lord Jesus I receive you now as my Lord and Savior I Repent of my sins I believe you're the son of God you died on a cross for my sins and I receive you now as my Lord and Savior in Jesus name amen amen now listen the Bible says that when we make that kind of decision that all of Heaven rejoices listen we want to know who you are so listen we can Rejoice with you that here listen if you uh I mean on the screen you see that if you you text the word save to that men and women shall give into our bosom father we thank you that you are a generous God and you expect your people to be generous too and therefore father we thank you for those that are giv September the 7th that's a Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon it's a potluck blessing so women are going to be bringing all sorts of things to enjoy as well as having a word listen we look forward to seeing you this Sunday as We Gather for our in-person service that's right here on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. we meet right there at the Marino Valley Conference Center listen we know that listen even this Sunday we have a new word that we just finished our series on talking about faith and works and living in the balance that listen God is going to uh give us a another word Liston here as we start a new sermon series on this Sunday and so we just look forward for you gathering with us being in person with us I promise you that listen there's something about being in person that's different than just being online and so we thank God for you and we look forward to seeing you there listen this is how we're closing out here in 2024 that listen our theme has been love to the third power that is based on Mark 12: 30-31 and this is where listen it talks about loving God loving ourselves and loving one another and therefore listen this is how we do it physically symbolically uh showing that very close out that listen that we put our fingers in the air we say that we love God and then listen we take those same fingers and put over our heart and say we love ourselves and then listen we take our fingers and with our arms we point to the left listen we point to the right and we say we love one another and therefore let us do it all together in unison we are life Empowerment Church and
