Hundreds of fans head to Smith's Ballpark for the Savannah Bananas World Tour

Happening Now hundreds of fans are filling the stands at Smiths Ball Park getting ready to catch a glimpse of the Savannah bananas yeah they are considered to be baseball's version of the Harlem Globe trods and they're making their first ever stop in Salt Lake City this weekend his specialist Brianna Chavez spoke to players on what fans can actually expect at the game these baseball players are warming up at Smith's Ball Park not to play for the Salt Lake Bees but for two other teams taking social media by storm the Savannah bananas and the Savannah party animals you're going to see things you've never seen on a baseball field before or anywhere before both teams are getting ready to play in front of soldout crowds Friday and Saturday night you're going to see people on SS you might see Grandma's dancing or a dad B cheerleading squad Bill ly has been with the team for seven years it's a brand new game it's fast and it's exciting so you got to keep your head on the swivel you might miss something known as the Harlem Globe Trotters of baseball the team play what they call banana ball a 2hour fastpaced ENT game with a few different rules they're very competitive I will say last year the party animals actually won the Tour Conor Higgins with the party animals is no stranger to Smith's Ballpark he's one of a few former Salt Lake Bees players on the tour so it's going to be pretty cool to see some familiar faces everyone's always been friendly here and great and um yeah I'm really excited for this weekend no matter who you're cheering for both teams say it's an experience people will never forget uh so it'll be sold out these next two nights and hopefully leave these fans with a good Lasting Impression for the last couple months at the stadium and check out this crowd behind me we're told that 29,000 fans are expected to come out between today and tomorrow I asked if they'll be coming back to Salt Lake anytime soon we're told that the schedule's coming out in October so we'll just have to wait and see until then reporting at Smith's Ballpark Brianna Chavis KSL 5 News
