in a broadcast exclusive we spoke to Supreme Court Justice katangi Brown Jackson about her blistering descent in that Landmark immunity case she granted CBS News her first TV interviews since joining the nation's highest court ahead of the publication of her Memoir lovely one here's what she said about what worries her about the decision in Trump versus United States in your descent you wrote that the court declared for the first time in history that the most powerful official in United states can under circumstances yet to be fully determined become a law unto himself it sounds like a warning well I mean that was my view of what the court determined you were concerned about broad immunity I was concerned about uh A system that appeared to provide immunity for one individual under one set of circumstances when we have a criminal justice system that had ordinarily treated everyone the same are you prepared that this election could end up before The Supreme Court uh as prepared as anyone can be let me ask you are you prepared for all of the news cycles that that you're getting as a result of this election um no no exactly I mean I think there are legal issues that arise out of the political process in and so the Supreme Court has to be prepared to respond uh if if that should be necessary and a new legal issue may have just Arisen you can see much more of our interview with Justice katangi Brown Jackson this weekend on CBS Sunday Morning
