another Heat Wave is cranking up but this one not quite as long as what we had on this date August 5th 1954 the temperature at Nashville reached 97 degrees that was the 27th consecutive day with 90 degree plus readings and that made it the third longest such period in Nashville's history in addition the high temperature reached at least 90 degrees on 58 of the last 59 days in that year wow that was a hot one that is one of the hottest summers in terms of 90 plus degree weather that's on the Nashville record books and that date was August 5th the year 1954 I'm First Alert meteorologist Lisa Spencer
