hey what's up guys Alex Espinosa here with another Ricky report make sure to use the code Ricky blog at lbar.com for 10% off your next order use my affiliate link down below let's do it I haven't done a Ricky report in a few weeks so there's a lot of updates we got to get to but uh I want to go all the way back to August 15th when the log Las Vegas Stadium Authority held their most recent meeting down there in Vegas and um you know there actually wasn't too many updates about the A's Ball Park the guy who's leading the kind of the point man for the stadium company for the A's down there Sandy Dean he was in attendance but he actually didn't speak so they had six items in the agenda and at the end they had they change they updated some language and the lease agreement for the A's but it wasn't anything um too important right now honestly I think the most interesting thing was uh the Las Vegas Stadium Authority President Steve Hill announced that next month's meeting in September will be cancelled along with November so they will be meeting in October and then twice in December as they are operating under the uh the 18-month deadline that I that I was that's that's what I was expecting this whole time but uh Steve Hill confirmed it so of course sb1 was signed by Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo on June 15 2023 and the language in sb1 says that they had 18-month deadline or the stadium Authority their authority to you know authoriz a deal expires so looks like they're going to try to get this in right before December 15th so uh here's the comments from Steve Hill from a scheduling standpoint um wanted to let folks know that we are going to cancel uh our September meeting on September 19th uh we are going to cancel the November meeting on November 21st and we were are going to cancel the meeting we are holding for December 19th um we will have the meeting uh on October 17th and then we have two meetings scheduled now in early December prior to that uh uh December 19th date um and it is the two Thursdays prior to that one is on the 5th one is on the 12th uh we will have the meeting on the 5th um the 12th is being held basically as a safety valve uh in the event that um for any reason we cannot wrap up um all that we have to wrap up in terms of documentation on December 5th which is the goal that we have um but we want to save that date is it is prior to um the 18-month deadline that we have uh that happens a few days after that which is why having an a meeting on December 19th is um actually just not helpful because it is a few days after that 18-month deadline so again uh they're going to cancel next month's meeting and I'll explain why in a minute and then they're going to cancel November's meeting because I think that's right in the middle of F1 weekend so they're going to be busy you know glad handing and making you know shaking hands and everything making sure that event's going smooth over there so uh again kind of like sb1 you know last year they kind of you know snuck a deal under the door they had a special session that was necessary for the assembly to do it and again it seems like the a are going to be trying to get it done right before the deadline so they were originally supposed to have a meeting September 19th but the Federal Reserve is scheduled to cut interest rates uh or most people are forecasting that they're going to cut interest rates for the first time since the pandemic on September 18th and given that there's going to be so much borrowed money for this project it doesn't make much sense for the A's to jump ahead so I think they're going to wait and react to that see how big of a cut it is of course the A's you know they they're trying to secure $300 million in debt financing like from a bank or a big lender something like that along with 850 million in private Equity investments from Outsiders or John Fischer's brother or his parent or his mom um so we'll see you know there's all this borrowed money involved so even if it comes down a quarter of a percentage point or a half of a percentage Point uh that's you know going to help out a lot when there's hundreds of millions of dollars involved so um so yeah the FED is supposed to cut rates after you know you know recent labor reports of unemployment is a little bit higher and people people thought some people thought they should have cut it in July but they didn't so it's almost uh almost a given at this point that they're going to finally cut interest rates for the first time since the pandemic so um so that just leaves us um you know kind of what like about another month until October 17th when they're supposed to meet again and I think in that time we might finally hear some Rumblings about the A's you know getting some borrowed money or getting some investors I think everybody's just kind of in a holding pattern until then so um I believe on October 17th when they have that meeting we'll probably have our first you know real look at what the A's are proposing after what uh 16 months or something like that you know so um you know from what I heard about a month ago the construction is much farther along than the financing so I heard that they're going to you know stay with the armadillo Dome and construction plans were you know getting finalized about a month ago but of course who's going to pay for you know so uh the Fishers you know John Fisher's already said you know I can pay for it if I if I have to but he's looking for outside investors of course they hired a a sports form G gallosa Sports Partners to look for up to $500 million in private financing but as far as we know we haven't heard anything yet but again I think we should finally hear and kind of see like a something of a formulated plan in October and I'm Steve Hill remains really optimistic here's what he said I want to thank you and Caroline Mark and everybody from the A's from the U significant amount of work that has been done um over the last few months um that uh is rounding third and headed for home and we're pretty happy about that so uh that's great thank you so as far as the you know the financing structure all we have to go off of is from July when Sandy Dean said that the A's were in good shape and they had put a lot of thought into the financing um and perhaps we'll see some new renderings in October as well but really I think we're going to find out about um you know how much is a Fisher family going to throw down how much outside investment are they going to get we're also going to have to see if Bal is able to you know get enough funding together to finance a new casino or Resort next to the ballpark uh of course they just got a huge help from GPI to complete the Chicago deal a couple months ago and GPI is the the head landlord of their lot so GPI owns all 35 Acres at the Tropicana lot and the A's have N9 Acres of that parcel the other 26 B is trying to figure out what to do and last week B's announced that they will implode The Two Towers at the Tropicana Hotel on October 9th they're going to have a a little shindig with like a firework show and drones and music and all that stuff uh the night before and then at 2:30 in the morning on October 9th they're going to implode The Two Towers so vital Vegas recently shared some photos and videos of the site and you can see the towers are pretty much gutted at this point uh just kind of hollow skeletons and I don't know I'm just assuming it's going to be like Oceans 11 that scene where there just all these people around and the things come down and uh yeah that you know those Towers were there for 67 years you know CU a lot of people have been saying oh the Tropic Canon is getting clear to make way for the stadium but Scott Robin vital Vegas been pretty adamant that you know the trop probably was going to come down anyway so this is what he wrote back in April he said Tropicana sadly wasn't destined to be forever its middling revenue and declining State resulted in rumors it would be demolished several years before the looming A's debacle and then I went back and looked uh at an article in January 2022 when B was on the verge of buying the Tropicana and getting this whole lot in the first place and um Las Vegas Review journals Eli Seagal interviewed B CEO uh CEO sue Kim about the future of the hotel and this is what Kim said at the time um Kim said that management has not determined what it will do with the property but it would consider anything from renovating the 1470 room resort to knocking it down and starting over so they were having this conversation um you know I think the as had started their homework trips down there in 2021 so the Tropic Cano was definitely an option at this point but it wasn't a done deal so you know B was already talking about knocking this thing over anyways because it just kind of you know faded with the times in Vegas so I mean it's definitely noteworthy that tropican is getting demolished but I don't think um you know has any bearing on what's going to happen with the a stadium you know Robin Scott is still very adamant that it's just going to be a parking lot for years to come so we shall see if uh you know B can get something together if GPI gets involved or if the A's just go about it so so again I think in October we're going to learn a lot more so on to Sacramento now um you know it's still kind of ridiculous to me that MLB is allowing the a to go to Sacramento for three years like if you just take a step back like I don't this whole situation is just so bizarre I don't think the rest of the country even realizes it yet um I think next year when the a start hosting teams and you know like a random Braves fan is going to be watch like what the hell are they doing in Sacramento you know I think the word's going to get out next year and it's going to be a whole another round of bad press but for right now you know that's the plan so and MLB is letting him do it but um there has been some interesting comments coming out of West Sacramento Lately from the mayor Martha Guerrero she made a couple of radio appearances last week the first one on kbf uh it's a business radio station up there and she said that West Sacramento wants to put a big Stadium right there on the waterfront so um Twitter account uh this this fan called sack toown Kings fan who's been all over this Sacramento news he shared some audio during her appearance in on kbk last week West Sacramento Mayor Martha Guerrero told kfk though that the new stadium and its talks have already begun we can build a 40 to 50,000 seat Stadium along the river yes we can we've looked at it and we know it's possible what areas are you looking at well that I think we need to work with the um land owners and how they like to shape it it's not something we come up with a a plan a design they they come with the designs and then we help them navigate that with the existing land they have and um they they own a lot of property up there and so you know I think that taking a look at working together with them uh it's not something we come up with separately so that's interesting I mean I think it's more of just kind of a public decoration you know like she she said like um you know it's up to the land owners what they want to do who knows who's going to pay for this but basically they're really excited about this new entertainment complex that's coming in there no matter what and they're trying to make a long-term push so they're not they're not hiding this they're really trying to nail it on year one and try to get them to stay here long term so um and then later uh in the week Guerrero appeared on 11 sack toown Sports 1140 with Carmichael Dave who of course we had on the podcast uh about a month ago he was really really good but uh but yeah Guerrero had some more comments to say about car Michael Dave about the possibility of bringing a Big League Stadium to the Waterfront there in Sacramento uh that you you believe it's possible for a 40 50,000 seat Stadium I think those are your words to be built in West Sacramento is that correct yes it is and uh I think you know looking at the coming season we're we're trying to make sure that everything is set in place for um the A's arrival in in their first season here in West Sacramento to be successful and that's that's exactly what we want to accomplish first we want to make sure that first um day opening day everybody is set and ready to go so again I don't think there's much meat on the bone here but it is interesting just to hear the first public declarations from West Sacramento saying yes we want the A's to stay here I mean of course they do you know this would be the biggest thing for their City uh right now it's 14,000 they're going to have like a three-year audition maybe four-year audition and they want to nail it so um but you know the but again it's kind of short on details and I think a stadium would probably be more in the 30 35,000 range like you know in Vegas the a are going for 33,000 I think it probably closer to that especially in a market of Sacramento size but hey she's Ambit ambitious and she's making the the city's intentions known you know and um and we also in the past couple weeks had some more information come out about the Sacramento rivercats and the A's and Suter health park and just like the whole ticketing situation and back on August 21st last iar sent out this graphic about the luxury and premium seating ticking ticketing packages and um and according to a source U you know front row seats for next year are going to cost $32,000 a year so it comes out to almost $400 a game and um you know and you have to commit to three to four years of it a two according to reports and um you know so according to this graphic if you kind of zoom in a little bit you'll see there's a b c d sections that are really close behind home plate supposedly those things uh those luxury sections sold out within a matter of weeks according to a recent report by Chris Beerman of the Sacramento B and and then if you look at like the rest of the map it's almost like half the stadium from sections 105 to 119 again I don't know if it's the entire section or at least just the first few rows or the first half a rows or whatever but that those will cost you about 15 to 20 grand a year and again it's a 3 to four year commitment as long as they're in Sacramento uh initially there were some reports that you also have to buy Sacramento rivercats tickets as well but I'm hearing that that's but there's reports that that's actually not true you're just committing to the A's 81 games um but still 3 to four year commitment so definitely a big investment if you want to do it according to Beerman um you know so that'll be be about $183 per game 15 to 20 grand that kind of jbes with what the graphic said from last dive bar so that's kind of the prices that we're looking at here and then eventually they're going to start selling the luxury boxes and I guess the premium and luxury seatings you have access to like the clubs like the Legacy club and the salon club which they advertised last month so again shade is going to be a premium um at the CER health park a lot you know there's not a huge overhang or anything so but again Sacramento fans are built different they know how to do this so you know just looking at the overall plan for the A's here you have to wonder I wonder if the A's especially given their attendance lately I think it's this season it's around eight or 9,000 something like that per game uh it's picking up a little bit here I think people are you know the Nostalgia is hitting in for a lot of people they're making their last trips to the Coliseum and everything but um you know you know capping it at 14,000 uh you know creates a scarcity and uh you know MLB baseball is you know MLB top level baseball is new there in Sacramento for whole season so I definitely think they're going to do well there and it's creating this demand and uh you know if they're charging 4 to 300 two you know $200 to $400 a game for and they're getting that locked in for three years that's going to that's going to be good business for them you know I mean that's more money than they were getting at the Coliseum I get I bet and their season ticket base was so decimated over the past few years obviously by their doing so I wonder if honestly moving to Sacramento is going to be more profitable as messed up as it is and it's like you know fish is willing to to really kind of make a mockery of all MLB and he's still going to make money so I think I wonder what the other 29 owners are going to think about this you know everybody could do this everybody could move to a smaller Stadium create demand but he's the first and uh only guy to do this I guess I can remember in a long time and it's crazy to me that they're making it happen you know I I just still don't understand how the Coliseum is unviable but Sutter Health Park is viable uh facilities won't be there and you know playing on Turf we've been through it all that but I mean another thing too is even if they sell out every single game which I think is a very real possibility in their first year um you know the max there is 1.13 million and if you go back and look at the A's attendance from when Fischer owned the team from 2005 on they pretty much averaged about uh 1.5 to 2 million fans a gamed depending on how good they were how much they were trying um you know before the pandemic then once the pandemic hit it's been around 7 or 800,000 um but you know we've gone into that uh those lower Crow you know they had a fire cell and pandemic all that stuff um you know kind of decimated those crowds in recent years but from you know ' 05 to 2019 they were averaging anywhere from 1.5 to 2 million fans so they're are they going to be capped at 1.13 um you know lower facilities and everything like that so I I just really I really am curious to see what owners are going to be saying at the owner meetings if fish is going to be hearing it from them at the end of this year cuz kind of making a mockery of this whole process you know and and then we'll have to find out if he's got the money to keep them on track to Vegas or if that falls apart too so a lot of stuff still juggling in the air but we'll see what happens in the next few months uh by December we will know a lot more so on to Oakland now got to be talking about the Ballers so the Ballers just wrapped up their first regular season home standand in team history uh First 48 games congratulations to all the staff people I know I saw you hustling putting a million hats on behind the scenes uh making sure it goes smoothly for all the fans I could totally tell you know some people were running around with their hair on fire in the in the thick of it but um but they got through and I think the word really got out these past few weeks you know uh on Sunday they just had a great game about 3,000 people were there I was there and I think my favorite part was afterwards the the 68s put on the tailgate at bricks Brewing which is a brewery there in West Oakland and you know the Ballers ownership was there the manager Aaron miles was there coaching staff like JT snow players their girlfriends staff fans like everybody was all there just barbecuing tailgating out of Brewery after the game so I thought that was really cool and um you know there's been a lot of home standand the past 10 games they've averaged almost 2,700 fans a game over the last uh final 10 games of their season and uh it wasn't this home stand but the previous home stand it really picked up on that Thursday you know there was like a rugby night then a Star Wars night then Dia deos Ballers then Beerfest and it was like pretty much ever since then I feel like the Ballers have hit another level of intensity and just like engagement at the Ballpark like it just feels different in there um you know at the beginning of the Season it was pretty quiet in there and crowds were smaller but now they're definitely I think the word is out and people are really enjoying it so I'm excited to see how it grows because you know they just recently announced that they raised $1.23 5 million in the span of 10 days from 2,200 new investors so they just did their first Community investment round they raised $1.23 five million at a $26.2 million valuation and shares were going for 17 cents a pop and the minimum buy in was 1,000 shares or $170 and and you know it was cool as soon as it started happening that morning fans started posting their their screenshots of the champagne bottle like oh I bought a th000 share 2,000 shares whatever and the word got out so um you know they went through a lot of turmoil about a month ago with three players leaving and they had to fire their manager midseason Micah Franklin but um over the past month they've they've got a lot of really good PR and I think you know they they weathered that initial PR storm and I think they're they've kind of come through stronger for it and I think people are really showing up so um you know a couple weeks ago Dan Moore the ringer wrote a really nice big piece about this the whole process you know he started reporting this in 2023 when Paul Paul Freeman and Brian carmell the co-owners were kicking around this idea and really pushing it towards fruition I remember how uh Hal was talking about it to me last summer around this time he's like oh there's going to be a new team called the Ballers coming through so um and you know so Dan was part of that kind of he saw he saw the whole thing happen um and he he reported about the whole whole Year's worth of everything that's gone down so I really highly recommend you read that uh it's I think like a 9,000 word feature so check it out but it's on the ringer and um you know I think a lot of people thought the Ballers were crazy for starting it up but here they did in 2024 and then a couple weeks ago they also got a write up in the New York Times them and the Oakland Roots were uh spotlighted and it's cool because and basically the gist of the article is yes like the A's are leaving the Raiders have left the Warriors have left but Oakland is rallying around the roots and the ballers because the roots are also going to do another second Community investment round on September 12th so that's coming up in about N9 days as I record this so um you know of course I think last year they raised about $3.2 million from over 5,000 investors in their first round and they're going to do it again and they're valued at $80 million they're moving into the Coliseum next year and then they're going to be of course in the modular 10,000 seat stadium in the Malibu lot outside of there for the next 10 years so roots are doing a lot of stuff too but um Kevin Draper of the of the New York Times he's a bay arean native and he wrote a whole article and it was cool to I mean it was funny they're writing about Oakland but they actually the the title photo was from Cal State Hayward so Pioneer Stadium The Roots game was getting um you know featured here and some really cool photos from ianc Bates of the New York Times but man I really wish they sent him out to rayi park at night to really capture that scene you get the Oakland uh Skyline in the background Oakland Hills and it's actually in Oakland As opposed to being a Hayward but still some pretty cool photos then Draper interviewed you know of course Paul fredman from the Ballers then adri um from The Roots who we had on episode 68 of the podcast and adri had some great quotes he said why does Oakland have to have small thinking we never have small thinking we have always tried to tackle World issues we have been at the Forefront of anything that is global and then Draper also had this I thought it was a cool little passage that he wrote about the Ballers and their whole mission he said the ballers in contrast so he was saying like the roots are fully professional they have you know staff they're they're making it happen they're in the USL second league uh you know number two tier in American soccer and then this is what he said about the Ballers he said the Ballers and contrast are undoubtedly a minor league team and it's fair to wonder if they are simply a protest or an elaborate joke gone too far they were born out of a protest movement against the A's ownership their baseball caps say B's and they even tried to play it a game in the Coliseum this season until the A's blocked it but Freeman insist that they are perfectly serious trolling anybody isn't a sustainable business model what is is providing an experience um it was funny hearing drap for because yeah I mean you see the bees uh you know the A's to the bees and all that you know Scrappy the rally pawesome like there is a lot of nods uh celebration is playing afterwards there's a lot of nods to the A's history when you go to the Bees game but yeah that's the experience they're creating you know they're not denying that they're the successors for Oakland baseball and you know just in my experience I think I went to a game at least one game every humand um this year probably went to 15 or 20 games throughout the whole season and spent a lot of time with hanging out with the 68s down in the right field bleachers down there with the drums are and I don't know it's just kind of there's like a rhythm now to the game you know you get there early you hang out in the tailgate tree right right in front of the uh the entrance or you hang out at the the red picnic tables next to the putting green there's some OG's putting working on the short game um hang out there for a bit then you go to the game hang out come back out go to the tailgate tree and then go to Bricks for some postgame beers I mean it's a fun uh it's a really fun cool thing that they have going on at the Ballers games now I was telling this to somebody uh on Sunday at the game it's like in between the lines yeah it's not Major League Baseball it's not the same it's never going to be the same as the A's and the B's will never replace what the A's did but they can help you know the coping process and provide us with a new place to get this out because if you go outside the lines everything is still what you want in a baseball game you're chilling with your friends drinking a beer uh great views and it's just like a fun vibe and I that's like the same thing I've heard from everybody uh I was walking my dog the other day recently in this old woman white woman in her 60s just stopped me I was wearing a root shirt actually but she was like oh you know I went to the Ballers game lately I loved it so it's like I don't know everybody I think everybody's having the same experience here my dad my brother like everybody you know people are going to their first games um bro my best friend there with his kids like I don't know I I haven't seen a single person have a bad experience with the Ballers game so um you know we'll we'll have to see if they make the playoffs they as I record this Tuesday morning they're have a magic number of two with six games to play so I think it's going to happen and it looks like they're on track to be the number two seed so I kind of looked into it a little bit and it looks like um you know the Missoula paddle heads are going to be the number one seed because there are four teams that make the pbl playoffs the Pioneer League playoffs it's the top two teams from the first half the top two teams from the second half so the Missoula paddle heads and the glacer glacier range Riders they've already uh you know clinch their spots and now the Oakland Ballers and the Yolo High wheelers are kind of in the driver's seat for the next two spots and they're trying to eliminate the Boise Hawks so um but it's funny you know the roots and the ball The Roots the the Ballers and the high wheelers are actually playing each other this week at UC Davis so as it stands right now the bees have a magic number of two against the Boise Hawks so they need a combination of two wins or you know two losses or one in one whatever it is and they're in and then the as far as the yellow high wheelers go they hav't magic number three against the Boise Hawks so it's probably going to happen and then they go to overall records for the seating so Missoula is going to finish number one uh baller's probably going to finish number two yellow's probably going to finish number three and then Glacier range is probably going to finish number four so what that sets up is Missoula versus Glacier range in the first round and then YOLO versus Oakland in the second in in the first round as well probably so again this is tentative still six games to go but this is kind of what it's shaping up to be and then I believe the first game would be on September Tuesday September 10th um and how they did it last year was like the the worst seed uh hosted the first game then the better seed hosted game two and game three so um you know if this works out uh this way you know game one could be September 10th at UC Davis at YOLO and then game two would be in Oakland and then game three if necessary be in Oakland on September 13th so September uh 10th at Davis September 12th and 13th at rayi is what it's looking like it could be so again this is tentative I'm just kind of projecting here and uh I could I I guess I could just reach out to Pioneer league and see what they say but I just kind of looked at what they did last year and that's what it's looking like so um looks like we're going to be having at least one more game at the Ballers no matter what at raymondi Park I'm sure it'll be a sellout be a wild atmosphere it'll be fun keep that momentum going so um and that's not the Oakland news uh not the only Oakland baseball news we have uh the city of Oakland avoided some massive budget cuts on Saturday night as Shang ta sent out this tweet at about 10 p.m. or about two hours before a September 1st deadline that would have kicked off a set of contingency plans for $63 million in budget cuts so um I'm honestly a little bit confused because so they had held another press conference like about an hour ago or they might even still be holding it right now it's Tuesday at about 1:00 as I record this but at noon on Tuesday um too and ASG held another press conference at the Coliseum but I'm kind of confused because a couple weeks ago they held a press conference where they're holding up a term sheet and with pens and everything so I thought it was already Sign Sealed and deliver last time but now I guess it's for real Sign Sealed and deliver um you know ascg is buying Oakland's half of the Coliseum site for $105 million so um initially on the original term sheet um you know they were supposed to pay $5 million by like August 28th $10 million by September 1st but now Sarah ravani of The Chronicles reporting that they just owe $50 million in September 15 in November and 33 million in January so that's the $63 million that's already earmarked for the Oakland budget uh if they didn't do that they would have cut about 10% of their police force along with some other police and fire uh measure you know Department Cuts as well and freezes but Oakland has avoided that for now and um and then the other 42 million will be coming before the end of the deal in June 2026 then after the press conference Omar Yasin from Oakland Observer clarified with to timeline in the term sheet does that mean that the down payment and the first payment that's due uh September 1st are in the bank so that's $15 million if I'm not mcy is being followed accordingly to the to the rule to the resolution so yes and so we have it structured out in the resolution if you guys don't have a copy we're more than happy to give it to you but yes there is no more no updated contingency that needs to happen we are getting get the money in for the first charge okay so does that I'm sorry is that to clarify is that $155 million I just stated earlier it was $5 million it's already in the account and they have a 10day grace period for the next the 20day grace period for the 10 million so we will get that this is the Oakland and a half um it's all kind of confusing because there's also a second half of the Coliseum site that ascg is working on purchasing um and last week um Oakland side reported that the A's and aesg have also come to a signed agreement on $125 million deal so we'll see how all of this progresses and when the money clears and everything but ta was pretty defiant when she was talking at the press conference on Tuesday about the money already being in the city's bank and I know some of your questions uh from the media and I'll just answer it right now you know do we have the money I just want to say that I am sick and tired of when people of color come to do work that they are asked again and again the same question and that is the truth the truth of the matter is we are working together and the cities has got the money in the bank so you don't worry need to worry about the money we are moving forward thaned to Luke Capital thaned to the African-American Sports Entertainment Group and again we couldn't do this work without the jpa so I don't know I mean yes ascg is uh you know blackowned and black run I don't know why she had to play the race card there but uh she did and all right the money's in the bank for Oakland so um and so obviously we hope it works out ascg and Oakland are tatting this is the beginning of a $5 billion investment to a whole entertainment complex in East Oakland to revitalize that area um I've seen it reported as 150 acre lot but I believe it's 112 acre lot but either way it's a huge huge plot of land Prime you know got infrastructure got freeway exits got B exits uh you know BART stop there so you know it's a it's a great piece of land hopefully something really cool happens and that $230 million clears in the next few years so we'll see what happens um but of course you know the roots will be playing there next year it's only 17 home days compared to 81 with A's and it's only 15,000 capacity as oppos as opposed to the 40,000 capacity that the A's have but hey got something going on next year hopefully they're already starting to book concerts because I think really um that's when your best chance to get some big events there is get turn that into a concert venue again then to wrap it up got to talk about the A's uh it's pretty I Can't Believe It's the final month of Oakland A's baseball um yeah I don't know it's I don't know if I fully confronted it yet um I I was just at the game on Sunday I was talking with an ace fan and he started crying right after the Ballers were done because you know that season was over and now it's upcoming that a season is over and yeah the bees will be there but uh it's just it won't be the same going till the Coliseum you know and um so it's been a while since I did one of these and I haven't even talked about the Bay Bridge series the final Bay Bridge series that was here and that was emotional for a lot of people it was only two games uh but of course we saw you know Bob Melvin Matt Chapman Mark Canon come back with the Giants and and um you know Chapman took home of some momentum he took a third base home mark canana squatted down a home PL and got some dirt and yeah so it's I mean it's the end of the Bay Bridge to Year's another chapter in Bay Area sports history and this is what Chapman had to say after the game according to Evan webeck of bar and News Group Chapman said I'm just glad that we got the win on the last day there our last game in Oakland being there and Bowl being the manager of the Giants and I'm on the team it's a pretty full full circle moment a lot of emotions playing there glad I don't have to play there anymore it's not easy to go back so when chadman is saying this I really think you know I think him I think all those dudes are wistful about what could have been you know if I mean you look at him seian Olen Shawn Murphy all these dudes are still in their Prime Basset Frankie um you know sha manah like all the everybody's still really good imagine Mason Miller's back there uh man like Brent Rook are like man they could have had a crazy team right now uh but hey is how it is in a landia and um and then you know Kaa also he's a San Jose Native and this is what he had to say um you know to the Merc he said I couldn't about you know taking the dirt he said I couldn't really decide if I wanted to do it or not but then I was like maybe if I don't I'll regret it so I got a little something to take with me so yeah uh damn I mean this is really happening you know it's only 12 home games left which is even sad to say you know um you know a fans are still putting up the good fight uh they're trying to get Mount Davis open for the last game I guess they had 50 fans volunteer and sign up that that they would clean up and set up and everything but and they sent it to over 200 employees trying to get a response but they never heard anything back um and I think the biggest thing there's probably you know that hasn't been open in in years so I'm assuming there's a whole bunch of building inspections and just safety issues and then who's going to staff it afterwards like you know so many things it's just a headache that the A's don't want to you know deal with a whole Pandora's box so I understand that what the a are doing it's too bad that they didn't plan ahead about this even if it's for one day but uh you know it's a you know what do you expect so um so and then they also the a fans also organized an event at SF Moma recently they had like a bring your own sports memorabilia event and a lot of Ace fans went there with some sell stuff and a judge I guess picked two uh pieces and one of them is going to be a huge clown head of John fiser and I guess the Fisher family was a big donator to the SF Moma and I guess this clown phase is just going to be posted up there for about a month uh in San Francisco so sure the Fishers aren't happy about that so A fans are still pushing um you know and yes so the Giants came here uh last week the Brewers were also in town and Frankie montos made his last appearance at the Coliseum so and the a it's crazy the a are so good now it's just too bad that you know they they secure their second winning month and and second straight winning month in August and you know since July 1 they're one of the best teams in baseball so Lawrence Butler is freaking amazing uh Brent Rooker is incredible uh Zack goff's almost getting to 2020 even though he's striking out a bunch and Shay langers has 25 dingers on this year so the AIDS are it's too bad that the a are so fun to watch and fans from Oakland are just so checked out um yeah it's just the whole thing is sad really but um you know on Monday during labor day Shay leg Le hit two ding including a walk-off hit it up into the second deck absolutely crutched it and here it is and Lang there's a deep drive to left if it's Farah it's gone right down the line and gone and the a have won it yeah uh she sad it's really sad that the a are leaving and how it's all going down so anyways uh shout out to all the A's fans who are still hanging in there you know 12 home games left and you know the a are just proceeding like everything is normal like I guess they're starting to put up thank you Oakland uh Billboards which is the first time I've heard them say thank you in this whole process um but uh you know fans are saying that they're starting to see thank you Oakland Billboards are on the Bay Area um but yeah I mean they just sent out an email to their fans saying hey it's a September to Remember come see the Yankees in this final home stand so they're still pretending like it's normal um Scott oser put out an article that the A's might even put out give out their replicas after the game to people instead of before the game on September 26th even though there's only 25 ,000 or 40,000 almost as an incenter for people to get out of there so but that sounds I mean I I don't know the whole thing is a mess uh September 26 is going to be a wild game and you know I think there's you know some people who are never going to go to a game ever again they've already said their goodbyes some people are trying to get in as many games as they can so um you know however you're doing it uh hope you're getting through this cuz it sucks I mean it really really does suck it's really sad and honestly for me I don't think it's going to hit till next year when see them open up their season um on the road and then they come back to Sacramento next year just going to be weird you know it's not you know it's not my team anymore you know so um but hey we all knew this was coming and now it's September so it's pretty wild so all right I'm Alex espanosa make sure to use the code Ricky blog at last.com for 10% off your next order use my affiliate link down below and I will see you either at the Coliseum
