[Music] hi everyone this is the tutorial for someone in this room my name is Billy from piano and pies let's get stuck straight in okay so to play this song with the track you will want to dtune your guitar down half a step which would mean your E string becomes an E flat uh your a string becomes an air flat D becomes a g d flat a g becomes a g flat B to B flat and E to E flat however for the sake of this video because more than likely you're in standard tuning I'm going to be in standard tuning however it will be best to play along with a truck in that drop tuning because it'll sound horrendous otherwise so what we're going to do for the introduction of the song is we're going to shape an emage accord and as you can see with the tab on the screen which is available on patreon more about that later we start with your L Easter play the Open Play The A String with fret number two go back to your open E string and then one on the G string and then go back to the e to the a e to the air so I'm keeping my hand in the E shape technically you don't need that but if you know your ecod well more than likely your memory your hand memory will just take it to that shape so we [Music] have and then you copy the same thing but the one on the G string turns into a number two which you can use with your ring finger if you want and I'm going to use my little finger so I've got two and then what I do I go back to the original shape and play that through [Music] twice and that's going to be the introduction it is quite fast so you'll want to make sure this hand is nice and planted usually I sit my hand just behind the um [Music] saddle and that'll just help keep keep the speed nice and fast okay so the start of the verse when the vocals come in basically has the same idea but it just mixes those shapes around so we start off with the one position again third time time and on that fourth time I put in that number two however after that we go to basically an open a string and a two on the D string and we're going back and forth between those notes eight times 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 before we go back to the first ship [Music] now everything that I've just played there is the first verse if you do all of that a second time you get the second verse just before we talk about the pre chorus you'll notice that we have the tab on the screen if you'd like the full tab for this song head on over to patreon there is a link in the description and for the price of a coffee not only do you get access to this tab but you get access to tabs as well as card chat and Cs and lyrics matched up for almost over 300 other songs of the latest releases over the past few years so feel free to check that out now the guitar for the pre- chorus is quite hard to hear there's lots of other instruments going on you can hear the occasional string so what I've got here is what I think I can hear on the track there's a chance that I could be a note or two off but this fits perfectly with it so please take this part with a pinch of salt this is just me trying to be honest uh with how I can hear the track but what we have which does fit well with the song is four on the a string two on on the D string and a one on the G and what we're going to do is cycle between the a d a g a d a [Music] g do that twice before we get lots of number twos on the a D and G play that through twice just like I have there the same order of the strings a d a g a d a g before finally going to to an open air two on the D open air two on the G and play that four times so the first part of this pre chorus I'll just put it all together [Music] slowly we then got to basically repeat it but then we strum an a major chord and sustain in it for eight beats so there's quite a lot going on there for the preor so it might be worth checking out that link on patreon so you get all Ro out professionally now the chorus changes things up yet again it's a bit of a mix between the pre chorus and the verse actually what we do is we start off with that initial shape that started the song we then go to the C minor chord which is basically that part of the pre chorus we then go to the b shape which is [Music] this before going to the zero and two on the a string and the D string so I'm slowly going to play through those as well as talk to you about how you could maybe strum these chords [Music] now if you repeat that twice you do get the full chorus however if you are more interested in strumming the chords what we need to do for that chorus is basically play an E major chord and I'm going to use a plum for this and the strumming that I'm going to use for every chord is down down down down up down up down down down up slowly that is down down down down up down up down down down down up we then go to a c Shar minor [Music] chord then the B major chord you can either play fret seven or you can play this shape on Fret two of the a [Music] string and then an a major chord so if you prefer to strum this song the chords for the chorus are E major to C Shar minor B major to a major there is then a post chorus which takes a c Shar minor but we're going to finger pick to B and then the a shape it then has this little pause where you hold an a note let it ring for two bars before it leads back into the second verse now when I say second verse I really mean the third verse cuz the first part of the song is the first verse and second verse together we then have a third and fourth verse but the good news is just do what you did at the start of the song again for the third and fourth verse things get better by playing the pre chorus cuz it is just the same as the previous pre chorus if you want to play the chords for the prec chorus instead of finger picking the chords would be C minor to B and then an a chord and then sustain it to get into the chorus and that second chorus is exactly the same as the first no different and if you whether whether you want to play the finger picking part or strum the chords that is up to you but yeah it is exactly the same regardless now at the end of the song we do have the basical basically the chorus again one more time round but then we have some sustain cords that kind of end the song it's a really nice ending actually and what happens is we play an E major chord and count one 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 C Shar minor 3 4 5 6 7 down to B major 2 3 4 5 6 78 and then after you hold on that for an extra couple of bars there's then an E major which ends the song so that is the end of the song if you found this video useful please do like and subscribe
