mman was a nationally award-winning photojournalist who began his career with the Milwaukee Journal in 1947 and in 1961 moved to the Houston Chronicle on November 22nd 1963 he was covering the Kennedy campaign visit to Dallas Fort Worth as the photographer for the Houston Chronicle in Dallas he was in the presidential motorcade riding in press bus number two which was several cars back from the presidential limo at the time of the assassination press bus number one stopped in D Plaza to let off several reporters however the driver of press bus number two on which Alman and his colleagues were riding refused to stop and let anyone off even though some of the reporters begged him to do so so Alman and the others were not able to get out and photograph or investigate the scene of the crime in D Plaza however their bus did go on to Parkland Hospital his brief time in D Plaza during the motorcade had not been linked to any photos of the event and seemed to remain unpublished
